Leicester Lions 2025

I haven't seen the photo but it would peedle me off seeing that. I know he's not from Leicester but surely common sense prevails. I think his main focus is the youth side at Leicester, like how he's put in the mini training track in the centre green. Time will tell if he puts money in the club for new grand stand. I know he shared the drainage costs with DH and the Bates when the club was sold. He has also paid 2 years rent up front. If that's keen on the kids developing then surely moving down a league would be the perfect scenario but I highly doubt that's going to happen. -
I spoke to Vinnie about a month ago and confirmed he's had offers from plenty of clubs but not from Poole yet. This was a while ago though so things can change. He wants Poole

There was only going to be one winning and that was Poole looking at the team line ups. Poole are deserved play off winners. That team is stacked full on talent. Having Lawson, Brennan and the cook brothers who are all Premiership standard riders was always going to be the difference. Even if the ref made the odd bad decision (which I haven't seen) it wouldn't have made that much of a difference. Vinnie will have a bad one crash one day, I've watched him plenty of times at Leicester and everyone knows there that he is reckless on the bike. I hope he takes on Bombers advice and tones it down a touch. He is a fast exciting rider who just needs someone else to tell him to calm down a little. Having said that he is very young and clearly loves racing . He does have a bright future in the sport he just needs to control his bike better. Seen him crash enough times at Leicester to support my claims. Anyways congradulations Poole! The KO Cup final is going to be tasty for sure.

I love Nicki but that's only because I wasn't a fan years ago of speedway. So all I've seen is the racing highlights and fights he's had with riders. Pure entertainment. Obviously other fans who have watched him over the years will have different opinions. On the other hand I've spoken to Vinnie quite abit and he's nice enough. His dad is alright too, but on the track sometimes I've had to turn away in fear of another crash. I think he's hit every fence panel at Leicester.

I wonder if this announcement has changed building plans, not just for the brummies but also everyone else's. I imagine Brennan is getting a phone call from every club in the Premiership

Pretty much .

With GP lines up announced for next season does anybody reckon any current or ex GP riders will take the plunge to ride in Britian?

Was told a even two years ago we wanted him. Various sources say different things but I don't see him at Leicester how he's world number 2. Would love a GP star. Could really make the difference -

Dudek is just an example but I agree they can be unreliable. Can't see Stewart Dickson taking many gambles again. Probably end up with Masters at 5 and the owners best mate Becker at 3.. -

We do need a GP quality rider at 5 if Fricke signs again, even if that makes a weaker middle order. Would like to mix it up this season. Strong 1, 5 and 6. Since we've moved up we've always struggled at reserve and at 5. I wouldn't even mind taking riders like steve Worrall, Erik Riss and Sedgmen to fit in a big hitter. Talks happened with Lambert, heard that a while a go now. Not sure if anything is still there but I doubt it. Would like someone like Dudek at the club. This team would never ever ever happen but it's the balance we've been missing 1. Fricke 9.14 2. Worrall 5.75 3. Jakobsen 5.71 4. Riss 5.55 5. Dudek 8 (assessed) 6. Sedgmen 4.79 7. RS -
Just been on the phone to dad who was at the meeting last night. Said the atmosphere and crowd was terrific. Everywhere was packed out and the belle vue fans were making great noise. He did arrive very early to the track and got let in. He spoke to one of the track men and was adamant the track shouldn't be watered at all, guess what Stewart decides it needs watering does the exact opposite of what should have been done. Oh well Belle Vue probably would have still won anyways. It's a shame that few hundred lions supporters left at the interval. Think they had seen enough. I gave up after heat 2. Becker was terrible, Kemp tries but isn't getting any better. Hagon got stuck in but that's about it. What I did find out is how the programme was bumped to a fiver. 5quid for a programme is a rip off. What a shame. Changes are needed next season for sure. Proper number 5 and new number 6. Wouldn't even mind bringing bad boy Morris back to ride at 4. We will see anyways. Congrats to Belle Vue and already looking forward to next season!

If I was to decide the team I'd probably keep Fricke, Lawson,Masters and Douglas. Only problem is those 4 won't bring any silverware to the club as they aren't quite at that doyle/kurtz level of winning meetings. I'm confident of those 4 atleast 2 of those will stay but I'd like to see new reserves and a big hitter at 5 to support fricke. -

I'm pretty confident fricke and becker are staying next season. Becker has close ties with the owner . Fricke on the other hand needs a proper number 5 along side him..
