Leicester v Belle Vue Thursday 14th March
FishersGate replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Weather looks abit dodgy so I don't think we will finish the meeting but I've got my fingers crossed it goes ahead. If we finish then I'm going for a 50-40 win for the lions -
According to the round the boards podcast apparently Birminghams side is better than leicesters, believe it or not! ' I'll have what there having ' ..
-
No idea they were even changing them so dont have a clue what they will look like!
-
I'm pretty sure this is bloke who was spouting off on Facebook regarding becoming a steward and didn't receive a response from the club (Jen). Its all on Facebook I think or was. In other more important news the Lions riding order has been revealed . Clearly Stewart thinks I am a genius and puts Douglas at 5 like I said he should!
-
Well whatever information you've got, as you said your not going to spill so our opinions of Jen aren't going to change. Everytime I've seen her she's been helpful and friendly to me and my dad , the mysterious posts from yourself aren't extactly going to helping anyone so I'd either just say what you really want to say or nothing at all..

Agree with all of that! I got sent a photo of the track a few weeks ago and it was a right mess, I'm sure it's been sorted now ! I'm hopeful we can see some racing on Thursday.

What League system do the fans want?
FishersGate replied to WeymouthPirate's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Variety the better for me. One league with as many clubs as possible. Reduce to 5 or 6 riders per team with the mandatory requirement of atleast one young brit at reserve. Get rid of the big name riders and let the clubs pick there own race night. Have a league system that whoever finishes top is the champions with the knockout cup having a play off system to make it more meaningful. Keep the national league running also allowing commonwealth riders to join the league. This should add more choice for clubs to pick a more balanced side along with more options for guests if injuries take hold on teams. -
2024 Premiership Predictions
FishersGate replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
From what I've seen the shape is the same. It's more just digging it up and starting again so water doesn't sit on the inside line. Sam Masters said he couldn't get grip on it when he rode it and you could tell. -
That's fine for you but I don't think many Poole, Belle Vue, Glasgow fans etc will be happy seeing there team lose every week. You should have seen how much the crowds dropped at leicester when we got battered every week..soon as we started winning again crowds slowly rised.
-
Looking great..just for peoples information the main track is just being re laid I think. The shape is the same but improving the surface so water doesn't sit on the top.
-
I was tempted and seems the obvious choice but Douglas average away is far better than masters. Heat 13 away from would be stronger. Masters at 14 is almost a trump card. But either way its strong
-
I think its much better side than last year. Its arguably weaker than most at reserve but the top 5 is one of the strongest in the league. Fricke should have another strong season and has the 3rd best average in the league. Douglas and masters are both brilliant at leicester. Douglas is a far better rider now since his last stint at the club. Masters should benefit from riding at.either 2,3,4 or even 5. Lawson is solid and will probably partner fricke at 2. Becker is the the wild card but have heard nothing but good stuff about him. Stewart also has a great advantage of the riding order. He could be unorthodox and change it up every few meetings. I'd personally go for this line up 1. Fricke 2. Lawson 3. Becker 4. Masters. 5. Douglas.

Tolley can't win really. The support is crap along other issues involved with the track and stadium. Brum had no choice but to move up due to race nights. My issue isn't with how much money he's put in, its what he's spent it on. If he claims to have poured in loads and loads money then more fool him, the teams he's put together are shocking. I can't comment on this year's side yet because it isn't finished but the more it drags on the more negative comments will appear. I know someone said it's just good to see birningham running and that there is speedway. OK that's great for you, but what about the fans that want to see a WINNING team (atleast at home). Surely he could not run speedway this year, save a fortune of cash and re invest it into 2025. That money can improve the side and stadium. I don't know really... like I said he can't win.
-
No surprise here with then, there team building has been shocking for years!
-
I don't think anyone is really surprised Birmingham are struggling to get someone in..there team building has been shocking in recent times.

Stewart Dickson was around 30k under the bates
-
I speak to him at most meetings and he has unbelievable regret at the shape of the track. He actually brings it up often for a laugh but in good spirits.
-
Dave Helmsley wanted him at Leicester a while back. He asked for 50k a year so God knows what tolley is paying him
-
Paul Cairns will be a big pull for young brits. He's mega keen on his son and other lads getting plenty of laps in. Sonny can practice at leicester as much as he needs too.
-
Could Max Clegg sign ? Think his average is higher than I thought but in a weaker league he could be a smart signing
-
Maybe the appeal of track use 7 days a week was a important factor for tate? That's why Boughton signed for the cubs last year so he could do extta practice if he wanted too.
-
Imagine what clubs like Edinburgh, Redcar, Workington could do with that backing? They would be right up there I reckon mixing it up building even better sides assembled
-
That's what I did last time so that is an option
-
I'm only a 45 minute drive away from Perry bar. What puts me off going is the fact I have to fight through traffic everytime. If I get there early I can't park it at the stadium either. Once I'm in there the viewing is fairly poor and I feel a mile away from the track. I must say the indoor facilities are pretty good though compared to some. I went twice last year and will I go back in 2024? Probably not worth the hassle for me.

Fair play Workington certainly going for it. Young hungry riders. Cook at the top helping the younger lads .
