  1. Does anyone know when the Glasgow fixture for that ill-concieved Jubilee thingymywatsit cup tie is scheduled?
  2. Great result for Edinburgh last night and to get such a victory against a team with a petty decent line-up and without Sam was one of the results of the season.
  3. Birmingham are so short on riders their promotion offered my 87-year-old grandmother a guest spot. She refused as she's guesting for Plymouth instead.
  4. Bit of a hastily-put-together Mickey Mouse tournament in my opinion. Only a small proportion of fans from the Scottish tracks and places like Plymouth were ever going to be able to attend the final in Sheffield if their team got through. I still don't even properly understand the format and i doubt i ever will. Yet again the speedway authorities seem to have got it wrong. Even a four team tournament would have been better, more excitement and drawn bigger away support in the qualifying stages. Anyway, rant over. For now...
  5. I've noticed this since the Polish started coming to Ashfield. I guess they have just brought over some of the tribal traditions seen in that part of the world perhaps.
  6. I saw Connor Coles riding at Ashfield last month and he did not look a Championship rider at all. He scored a grand total of 1 and was not on the pace at all. Clegg is the better rider, the more experienced and the more likely to score points away. Just because he hasn't been great in the short time he's been at Leicester means nothing at all. Stewart Dickson knows enough to have brought him into the team and he'll be proved right soon enough.
  7. [edit] apologies, i commented on this post by mistake and was sure i'd commented on another instead. This site is so difficult to navigate at times.
  8. Ah! I see now. It was a puzzler for me on Saturday
  9. Does anyone know when Connor became British?
  10. I remember him saying at the start of the season that once he learns the track he will be unbeatable around it. That hasn't been the case.
  11. Josh is the most exciting rider in British speedway. Change my mind.
  12. Speedway is not returning to Coatbridge. Ever. Certainly not to that stadium.
  13. Apparently it was very tense, there was a lot of shouting and name-calling but in the end Boris resigned.
  14. The new stadium plans look great, i'll miss Armadale though. Hope they keep the finishing line pyrotechnics machine, i really like that touch.
  15. I expected Jason to improve. I saw him riding for Edinburgh a few times last season and i recognised his progress towards the end of the season and added to the fact he's so young and was on a 2 point-something average, i knew he would at least double that this season, maybe even triple it by the end of the season. I liked the look of him more a lot more than Jordan Palin and the Thompson twins who everyone raves about but yet i haven't witnessed much from.
  16. Maryhill Tesco car park is like Tombstone. There have been several muggings at the cash points there.
  17. Any updates on the stadium and next year?
  18. Nothing to do with having a competitive team if the cause of the closure is running out of money. It was a half-assed promotion team with no real drive. Charlatans basically.
  19. I'm not sure how many of the 150 (estimated) supporters who left last week will be back as there was a fair bit of anger about the delays on Sunday. I'm 'old skool' in that i've seen racing in much worse conditions and it's still been good riding but i understand that modern riders like everything to be perfect and i wasn't really bothered about the two hour delay but i AM concerned about the loss of supporters long-term and i believe there must be something down to keep the track dry and avert these regular delays. Why not large tarpaulin strips (roughly eight - 2 on the corners and two on each straight) fastened to the top of the fences and rolled out to the centre green and held down by pegs or something to allow the rain to run down? It's 2022 and the unpredictable nature of speedway being staged with certain regularity is what is helping to drive fans away. If only half of those fans venture back then that's 75 less fans through the gate next time. Something needs to be done instead of an over-reliance on the (admittedly very good) track staff. Any thoughts?
  20. I believe Chris Harris has found some way of cloning himself so he can ride for several teams at the same time.
