  1. The whole thing sounds like a wind-up by some Walter Mitty on a fantasy trip. there's no way any of this happened. So the council turned down a planning application for a multi-million pound entertainment arena? A planning application that doesn't even exist in the real world? A music festival arena for 25,000 people. That's going to cost £15M - £20M minimum (And I'm probably way under there), and sorry you just don't pop up a 25,000 capacity arena by registering a company at companies house the day before with former junior rider Greg Daniels as sole director, and sole shareholder with one £1 share. But this multi-million pound arena can be funded by one appearance from Michael Jackson, Robbie Williams, Simply Red and The Killers..... erm, OK. Then we look at some of the gibberish posted. "Un-vailing"? And what are "bonified" contractors? Is this some kind of fossilisation? "All domains both .co & .com are registered with companies house." No they're not! Companies House register and regulate Limited Companies in England and Wales. (Like the one Greg Daniels has a whole pound invested in). They're nothing to do with any register of internet domain names! Then we're expected to believe that this whole multi-million pound project to bring global music artists to Weston Super Mare has been brought crashing to the ground by a few phone calls with Neil Vatcher and Roscoe? A Speedway club using the facilities isn't some massive money-spinner. It would be bringing in chicken-feed compared to a Rihanna concert. Whether Henry Atkins can have a skid round on his bike isn't going to matter much to Bruce Springstein and Taylor Swift. No way would the lack of speedway derail this project. Sorry, but it's all Billy Bull****
  2. That theory doesn't hold water. He was assessed on 4.00 for Championship. So he should be 8.00 in NDL. If he had British credentials he'd have started on 2.00 in the Championship like Connor Bailey did at Glasow.
  3. Absolute joke if true. No objection to Commonwealth riders coming in to strengthen up teams, but a 4.00 Championship rider is 8.00 in the NDL. A 4.00 CL British rider would drop into NDL on 8.00. Should be the same for a foreigner. Why on earth should we be giving advantages to foreigners over our own?
  4. Bickley and Hook are nailed on doubling up at Armadale. I'd like to see Rothery give it another go, but don't know if he can be tempted. Embleton and Lyden will be at Armadale unless they've had an offer from either Belle Vue or Berwick. Phillips is at Berwick. The Millars have packed it in.
  5. The championship is the problem. The Championship should have a workable Rising Stars scheme so that all these riders "too good for the NDL" can be accommodated. It's correct that Dan Thompson shouldn't be in NDL as he's too good. But he's only got his PL place. So do I blame him for clogging up a place in the NDL? Absolutely not! It's not Dan Thompson's fault in any way. It's the Championship which is wrong.
  6. You're correct. The Ochiltree family (Midland Sports Stadiums Ltd) owned Brandon and Blackbird Road. They sold Leicester to Barratts for housing in 1984. They sold Coventry Stadium to Avtar Sandhu (Coventry Stadium Ltd/ Coventry Greyhounds Club Ltd / Coventry Racing Club Ltd) in 2002 Around 2013 there were rumours that Coventry City FC were buying the stadium, but also HMRC put a block on Sandhu selling the stadium as they claimed Sandhu bought it with the help of a criminal business partner who had been convicted of money laundering and organised crime. Sandhu eventually sold the stadium in 2016 to a Jersey company Brandon Estates Ltd. (I have no idea who is behind Brandon Estates Ltd - someone must know) Mick Horton was trying to lease the stadium for Speedway from them to continue in 2017. I think Sandhu tried to lease back the running of Greyhounds too. This fell through and Sandhu apparently broke into the stadium and allegedly stole fixtures and fittings. Brandon Estates Ltd contacted the police and claimed no one could now run Speedway or Greyhounds at their stadium as it was an active crime scene. That's how I remember it.
  7. Indeed, but does no one still know who is actually behind Brandon Estates Ltd?
  8. I think so too. Could see Phillips at either Berwick or Belle Vue. I was just surprised that after signing Bickley, Hook, Complin, Embleton and Lyden, they could still fit Phillips and a 3.00 so I stuck them in the last 2 places. Would George Rothery and Luke Muff look more realistic than Phillips/Millar?
  9. Think you'll find that Armadale are the team who wanted the limit increasing to allow Aussies in, not the team suffering from it...... Kyle Bickley 9.58 Jacob Hook 8.00 Lee Complin 7.27 Danny Phillips 6.86 Josh Embleton 3.92 Gregor Millar 3.17 Kyran Lyden 3.00 41.80 (Just need a 3.00 rider if Millar can't be convinced to give it another go).
  10. Yes, what is it they say about rumours? Oh yes..... They're usually true.
  11. Seems like my prediction last week of who the next two signings would be was spot on. Hard to believe that Berwick wouldn't want to retain Ace Pijper. Seems to fit in with the rumours that Workington have been throwing big money at riders to try to tempt them away from their clubs.
  12. D Thompson 9.73 J Thompson 9.11 M Perry 5.67 T Spencer 5.26 A Boughen 4.95 V Foord 3.85 M James 3.00
  13. Anyone wanting to rethink Oxford's 100% fact yet?
  14. If you watch one game of basketball per month you have too much time on your hands.
  15. Keep up! Mulford came in as the new No.8 when existing No.8 Jenkins stepped up to replace the injured Palin.
  16. Well he will be at Oxford when Leicester visit. But it's not 100% fact because he could be injured or unavailable.
  17. This week's Speedway Star says that Coles isn't in the Lion Cubs 2023 team due to the clash of Saturdays with Berwick CL. I can imagine Connor will double up with the two Berwick teams. I'd say Leicester will include Joe Thompson, Max Perry, Tom Spencer, Ashton Boughen and Max James.
  18. No. Jenkins came into Peterborough as their No.8 when their existing No.8 Dan Gilkes was injured. Obviously when Palin was injured Jenkins took over his place in the team, which was the whole point of having a No.8
  19. No. He didn't. Jordan Palin was Peterborough's No.7 last year. It was possible to ride in NDL, Championship, and be on the rising stars list as a No.8. which is what Jenkins did. This year there are no No.8s and Jenkins will be Peterborough's No.7 rising star
  20. Don't think Gilkes is allowed to ride in all 3 leagues. Same applies to Jenkins. Can only imagine Boughen at Leicester.
  21. Sure. Leicester - Dan Thompson Peterborough - Jordan Jenkins King's Lynn - Jason Edwards Wolverhampton - Leon Flint Ipswich - Jack Thomas Sheffield - Dan Gilkes Belle Vue - A choice of whatever is left after the above picks.
  22. Common knowledge who the rising stars are. They had to pick in reverse order of the league table (although Belle Vue were moved to last pick as reigning champions even though they weren't actually top of the table). So the order of choice was Leicester, Peterborough, King's Lynn, Wolverhampton, Ipswich, Sheffield, Belle Vue. They had to declare who they wanted so that the rest would know who was left, so really only Belle Vue can keep their choice a secret.
  23. Wrong. The criteria is that the rider has to have been eligible to ride in the NDL (doesn't have to have ridden in it) and not have represented a foreign country. So a British rider who went straight into Premiership or Championship and didn't ride in NDL would still get a reduction, because he was eligible for NDL, but someone who has represented Australia wouldn't.
  24. Out of interest, who are the 19 riders who you think shouldn't be in the NDL? Or if it's easier to answer, which is the one rider that you think is the only one who should be in the NDL?
