What difference does it make? If they name the No.1 a week before the first fixture, or if they named him last November, none of the team are going to be riding until the first meeting at the end of March. It's going to be the same 7 riders regardless of whether they were declared yesterday or tomorrow. In any case, we all know who it is. My guess is that since he lives in the UK for the majority of the year, they are perhaps waiting for him to be free to hold a social night with him (just a guess). Who exactly are you defying if you pick and choose meetings? It's the same team and same meeting regardless of whether you are there or not. Just sounds like cutting your nose off because you had a hissy fit months previously. Similar with the new Ipswich owners. If they are making sure they have all their ducks in a row before revealing a full team, then good on them. Name the team last week or name the team next week, you're not going to see them race until the end of March, so it makes sense to make sure everything is perfect for March.

His post on Facebook says nothing about Workington. He's an NDL reserve, and It's clearly talking about his upcoming signing for Buxton. You've just confused that with the fact that Workington are signing a Championship reserve around the same time.
-
It doesn't say 10 league matches. It says 10 home matches. It also talks about including Cup matches (but not the finals) and also says they intend staging 1 or 2 individual meetings.
-
Jack Shimelt is being named as No.7, but you've accidentally posted this on the Workington thread instead of the Buxton thread. You've confused people by mixing up the Buxton release with a Workington one.

£30? You give Mr Godfrey too much credit. It was actually £27.81 https://www.cameo.com/lindyloo -
Why??? Who thought this was a good idea? I'm sure it was Rob Godfrey's wet dream to see inside her Travelodge room, but what in the name of Jesus's bicycle clips??????

I spoke to someone last week, not directly connected to Ipswich, but who knows what's going on with the takeover. He hinted it's 99.99% done, but the new people are very professional and won't say anything until they're ready to make an announcement. He seemed to suggest it's a good owner for Ipswich, and good for the sport. (Wouldn't tell me who the new owners are - but my money is on Mayfield). The fence problem was that it's not an airfence, it's a foam fence, and the foam fence people went into administration. But it seems they're starting up business again and can supply the fence . Why would they be the same? They're a very different size and shape, just like all tracks are different sizes and shapes. From what I've briefly seen of Northampton, it looks to have quite long straights, so I don't know if they'll bring the bends in to make the Speedway track shorter and wider, rather than run fully on the stockcar track. I'm no track curating expert. Edit: Just checked. Northampton claims to be 396m, which is very long, so I would imagine one or both bends will come in for Speedway

It's way too strong. The NDL must always be below 42 to allow the riders who have reached the limit of NDL to move up to Championship, and be replaced by fresh new 3.00 talent. Unlike the professional leagues where the mean average is 42, the mean average for NDL should be around 36. This allows a 9 point rider to move on and be replaced by a 3.00. All a 42-point limit will do is serve those who are on an ego trip to win a trophy, clog the league with 30 and 40 year old has-beens, hold back those who need to move onwards, and block out the 15-year-olds.
-
Fact. And a 42 point limit will see the "win at all costs" people pushing the costs up.
-
People stop going if the team is losing. Bu if a rider can help turn that round into a better team...

8% per year average reduction to get riders back into the sport? Sounds like a bargain!

I'm exactly the same. My yearly subscription ends this month. It's Tuesday tomorrow, and I still haven't received last Thursday's copy.

I've heard that this Battye boy is good from behind 😲

Can't see any reason why he wouldn't.

Didn't he ride for Plymouth?

Ues this better one https://www.gbspeedway.com/2025/ridervstrack.php?mc1=s&mc2=rv&mc3=x&mc4=x&name=Jaimon Lidsey&track=Ipswich

Averages are calculated to 3 decimal places, and rounded to 2. Cook's rolling average is 207 points from 101 rides = 207/101 x 4 = 8.198 If he was a foreigner, 8.198 would round to 8.20 As he's British, he gets a further 2.5% reduction. 8.198 x 0.975 = 7.993 which rounds to 7.99 (But even if it was 8.00 he would still fit)
-
Certainly when the rule was created, it was a 25% reduction the FIRST time a rider leaves the RS system only. Otherwise a rider could manipulate his average to flip in and out of RS every 2 years. But who knows what ruling could be reached now "in the best interests of speedway"

Well, about £480k (don't forget the Vatman has 16.67% of the income for the government).

Tyres are provided by the home club for both sets of riders. They are marked for the specific meeting and handed out on the day so that no one can bring their own specially prepared tyre. Fuel and oil are the responsibility of the rider to provide their own. (Although they may have it in their deal that it's provided by the club or via a sponsor).
