The only firestick I have used was to light a coal fire, and that didn't work everytime.

My wife and I are into our 80's, whilst we can (just about) select the right HDMI for changing from TV to video etc., we do not have a smart phone, as all we want from a mobile phone is to press a few buttons to make an emergency call when we are out of the house. We do not have a laptop either, so it seems it is not worth the hassle to subscribe to BSN. Discovery or whatever it is now is far too expensive for us as pensioners so speedway will not be seen in our house this years, at least. Hopefully next year the SGP's will be more affordable and BSN will be more OAP friendly. I won't hold my breath though!

I didn't. I avoided looking at all Speedway sites/forums etc before I watched it. Worked a treat, so will do it for all future Grand Prix's, it's only for a day or two so no problem, anyway.

The only sport I watch on telly is speedway, but I am not going to pay £31 per month for it. I thought I would watch the highlights on Dmax. Imagine my surprise when I see the SGP is allocated 30 minutes yes half an hour for 23 heats! Will it be worth watching, I wonder. At least the British matches are allocated an hour for 15 heats. Something doesn't add up with 23 heats crammed into half the time allowed for 15 heats. Thanks Discovery, you have ruined my enjoyment of Speedway, as I am not able to go to meetings anymore (Age, distance, finance etc.). I am sure this is is not what the people who gave Discovery a ten year(?) contract signed up for. Having enjoyed the coverage up until now, I can't wait to see the end of the contract and hope someone better will take over.

Why bother with LQ1/2, semi finals, final? Just have 20 heats, the rider with the most points. That way the best rider on the night wins not someone who finishes with less points gained throughout the evening.

It's Manchester, said by many to be the wettest city in the UK. What will happen if BOTH get rained off? Yes, one could be staged on the Sunday (if it stopped raining by then) but when/could the other be staged?

What about Reading (at least it is west of London). Smallmead Stadium is no more, but the land itself hasn't been built on yet. Surrounded by industrial units it shouldn't get many house owners moaning about the noise. I don't get why someone will not give it another try or is the Council not willing to give permission?

I'm afraid I do not know anything about NORA. I assume that it is unlicensed meetings, but what does NORA stand for? Also, how many tracks, and where are they? Do they race against each other or is it the riders who turn up on the night race each other? Sorry, if I seem dim but I would like to know more.

What would happen if rider A, on gate 1 and is already on a warning makes rider B on gate 2 touch the tapes. .Are they both excluded or is rider B "saved" by another rider being excluded first? Also,, is the rule the same if the incident happens to riders in gate 1 and 4 where the rider who touches the tapes cannot claim he was conned into it? Has this happened at any time, in the past?
