Z Cook in the top 5 is a big decline from B Cook. I also can’t ever see him dropping down to reserve as Voulas’ average won’t increase that much.
-
Only really helps his development if he plans too or is committed to UK speedway for the foreseeable. If his intention is to bin off UK when he gets to the elite level and just concentrate on Poland then the NSS is the way to go
-
That’s the point I’m making. At that point Leicester already knew if they were retaining riders, and as such could’ve told them riders to drop their average to make team building easier for next year. Dickson loves continuity, so I’d be surprised if he didn’t want to keep 5/6 of the 24 team for 25, which may now be difficult to achieve given how significantly over 40 points they are
-
Don’t understand how that would constitute throwing the chance at winning the title, when it was already confirmed at that point who they were facing in the semifinal. Team building is already complete before September, the AGM is just to ratify everything.

1. Fricke - 9.14 2. Howarth - 5.06 3. Tarasenko - 6.77 4. Becker - 6.57 5. Wozniak - 7.50 (ass) 6. Sedgmen - 4.79 RS. Hagon Total - 39.83 This is best Leicester team I can come up with that is somewhat realistic given Wozniak used to ride for the club and that Tarasenko had an excellent debut for Lynn there this season just gone. Does mean that Dickson would have to go against his approach of signing UK based riders, but he may have too this coming season
-
Yes, but it’s usually replacing 1 rider to bring you back under the limit. Leicester could be in the situation where they have to replace 3 riders who were probably all on inflated averages and come to tapes in 25’ with a less competitive side. For the life of me when they were told they were finishing top due to ‘commercial reasons’ I don’t understand why they didn’t throw their remaining meetings to drop everyone’s GSA’s to put them in a better position for team building
-
It’s a worse team than this years. Desperately need to find a big hitting support act for Max
-
Just proposing a potential Oxford team if Masters leaves Leicester…
-
In my humble opinion Anders Rowe out of three is by far the strongest rising star and has the highest ceiling
-
1. Musielak - 8.21 / Bewley - 8.52 2. Wright - 6.32 / (although I can’t see PS getting rid of Riss - 5.61) 3. Masters - 7.32 4. Janowski - 7.02 5. Tungate - 7.71 6. J Thompson - 3 RS - Killeen Total: 39.58 / 39.89 (39.18 with Riss)
-
They could take J Thompson if they wanted to take that route…
-
Can’t see them getting rid of Riss as he’s good pals with Schroek. Only other place I could see Riss being is Lynn, but it doesn’t make sense if they’re going “strength in depth”. You do make a good point with Masters though, that is a very strong rumour. which may mean Tungate goes again at 1, although I do feel if Oxford want to make the Top 4 they need someone over the top of him. 1. Tungate - 7.71 2. ???? - 6.02 3. Masters - 7.32 4. Wright - 6.32 5. Janowski - 7.02 6. Riss - 5.61 RS - Killeen
-
He still had to dial in to the Lynn track? There’s no reason why he couldn’t do that around Oxford with some practice…
-
Isn’t Artem tempted back?
-
Think he is the best option available, as I can see Musielak being at 1 so that leaves 5.13 for the No. 6 (Kerr - 4.77; C Cook - 4.56; Howarth - 5.06). Unless they can bring in a 5 point rider in from the continent…
-
Look at Anders Rowe’s progression 2023: 5.95 2024: 7.76 (4 meetings) If I was in the Championship I know which one I’d rather have…
-
But if you can’t attract/pay for a big hitter never mind 2, what other approach is there?
-
Sure Pawlicki and Milik did too. I’d personally take Zagar over either of them 2
-
Zagar?
-
I agree. Kvech can be a 7.5-8.0 rider, especially now he’s seen all the away tracks at least once
-
Neither of them look like a tight budget team to me, especially the one on the right… World No.3 and Tungate who will dictate No.1 earnings as he rode that all of last year for Oxford
-
Apparently Masters (Oxford) and Douglas (Lynn or Birmingham) are both leaving Leicester, as well the yearly rumour that Lawson is going back to Lynn. Could be a very different 1-7 next year for the Lions: 1. Fricke - 9.14 2. Sedgmen - 4.79 3. Tarasenko - 6.77 ??? 4. Becker - 6.57 5. Musielak - 8.21 ??? 6. Kemp - 3.95 RS. Hagon Total - 39.43
-
Would love to see Douglas at Lynn, but not at No.1 on his average of 7.30 as can only see that dropping.
-
It’s a solid team, which I guess is the strategy for ‘25. Should in theory win every home meeting comfortably (50-40 minimum), just on the road feel it might get exposed and not see us pick up many aggregate points. If at all possible, I would like to see us incorporate both Janowski and B Cook. 1. Janowski - 7.02 2. Iversen - 6.83 3. Kvech - 6.58 4. Lawson - 6.91 5. B Cook - 6.99 6. Z Cook - 5.57 7. Boughen - RS Total - 39.9
