Personally, and this is just my view I see Danny King falling off a cliff massively next year. Excellent servant to Ipswich speedway, and that cannot be doubted, just feel next year pushes him so far over the hill. As it keeps getting said you need riders who are going to improve their average. I see DK’s going one way and KR’s going the complete opposite direction, hence why I think Ipswich look vulnerable. The other question mark is Ipswich are now heavily dependent on 3 out of their top 5 recovering fully from quite serious and nasty injuries in 2024. That for me is a lot of uncertainty going into the new season
-
This one certainly does surprise me, I gave Ipswich the benefit of the doubt bringing back King if that meant Rew stayed and Brennan came in. Your second string / middle order has now gone from being as strong as your top two: Rumoured Actual 2. Ellis 2. Ellis 3. Brennan 3. Brennan 4. Rew 4. King to now looking a bit vulnerable
-
I’m just playing devils advocate. I agree with you, Ipswich should do everything they can to strengthen, just putting it out there for debate
-
Maybe Ipswich are going with the same again next season? As everyone has already said a million times, if that Witches team stayed fit they would’ve walked the league. Maybe Chris and Richie think the same and no changes are required? It’s not like the league is going to get drastically stronger next year, if anything the standard will get lower with Lindgren not coming back, doubts around J Holder returning and no guarantees someone has snapped up Musielak.
-
I’ve heard Z Cook is at BV. That may change now Ipswich have decided to keep King over Ellis
-
If they can tempt Musielak, persuade Thorsell to come back and find someone from the Continent of a similar nature to Kvech then they might put up a fight. 1. Musielak - 8.21 2. S Worrall - 5.69 3. Thorsell - 7.33 (2019) 4. 6 point rider - 6.00 (ass) 5. Douglas - 7.30 6. Lampart - 4.93 RS. Edwards Total - 39.46
-
What about Wozniak…?
-
Only from Birmingham
-
Your football reference doesn’t really hold credibility because you do get rewarded following relegation from the Premier League through parachute payments. That gives you an advantage financially next year in the Championship and 9 times out of 10 at least one of the relegated teams gets promoted again the next season. How is that fair on the teams that were promoted from League One and have now been restricted from the previous seasons good performance?
-
Well Birmingham wouldn’t have to pay for the away team, unless you mean across both the home and away meetings?
-
King’s Lynn need a 1000 to break even, and that’s Buster getting hammered for always having the cheapest team. Even if Apple or Google sponsored the Brummies I can’t see 500 being financially viable
-
1. Musielak - 8.21 2. S Worrall - 5.69 3. King - 6.14 4. Lampart - 4.93 5. Douglas - 7.30 6. Kerr - 4.77 RS - Edwards Total - 37.04 That is my Brummies team for ‘25
-
Only other place I can see him signing is Birmingham and that is risky business
-
1. B Cook - 6.99 2. Kvech - 6.58 3. Iversen - 6.83 4. Klindt - 6.59 5. Lawson - 6.91 6. Harris - 6.06 RS. Boughen Total - 39.96
-
To be fair to Ipswich they do have 3 riders whose only trajectory is up - Rew, Thompson and Brennan. If they keep Ellis his average should improve also
-
Z Cook in the top 5 is a big decline from B Cook. I also can’t ever see him dropping down to reserve as Voulas’ average won’t increase that much.
-
Only really helps his development if he plans too or is committed to UK speedway for the foreseeable. If his intention is to bin off UK when he gets to the elite level and just concentrate on Poland then the NSS is the way to go
-
That’s the point I’m making. At that point Leicester already knew if they were retaining riders, and as such could’ve told them riders to drop their average to make team building easier for next year. Dickson loves continuity, so I’d be surprised if he didn’t want to keep 5/6 of the 24 team for 25, which may now be difficult to achieve given how significantly over 40 points they are
-
Don’t understand how that would constitute throwing the chance at winning the title, when it was already confirmed at that point who they were facing in the semifinal. Team building is already complete before September, the AGM is just to ratify everything.
-
1. Fricke - 9.14 2. Howarth - 5.06 3. Tarasenko - 6.77 4. Becker - 6.57 5. Wozniak - 7.50 (ass) 6. Sedgmen - 4.79 RS. Hagon Total - 39.83 This is best Leicester team I can come up with that is somewhat realistic given Wozniak used to ride for the club and that Tarasenko had an excellent debut for Lynn there this season just gone. Does mean that Dickson would have to go against his approach of signing UK based riders, but he may have too this coming season
-
Yes, but it’s usually replacing 1 rider to bring you back under the limit. Leicester could be in the situation where they have to replace 3 riders who were probably all on inflated averages and come to tapes in 25’ with a less competitive side. For the life of me when they were told they were finishing top due to ‘commercial reasons’ I don’t understand why they didn’t throw their remaining meetings to drop everyone’s GSA’s to put them in a better position for team building
-
It’s a worse team than this years. Desperately need to find a big hitting support act for Max
-
Just proposing a potential Oxford team if Masters leaves Leicester…
-
In my humble opinion Anders Rowe out of three is by far the strongest rising star and has the highest ceiling
-
1. Musielak - 8.21 / Bewley - 8.52 2. Wright - 6.32 / (although I can’t see PS getting rid of Riss - 5.61) 3. Masters - 7.32 4. Janowski - 7.02 5. Tungate - 7.71 6. J Thompson - 3 RS - Killeen Total: 39.58 / 39.89 (39.18 with Riss)
