  1. Honestly can't see this going ahead with the rain that's forecast. Looking like it's going to start tipping it down at 3pm and not stop until gone 10pm.
  2. You're thinking of the National League Riders Development Series, which - as @Islander15 said - is different from the National Development League Riders' Championship - easy to get them confused, mind. The latter is a one-off meeting at Poole.
  3. Full line-ups... Oxford Spires: 1. Rohan Tungate, 2. Charles Wright, 3. Lewis Kerr, 4. Maciej Janowski, 5. Chris Harris, 6. Erik Riss, 7. Ashton Boughen. Ipswich Witches: 1. R/R, 2. Dan Thompson, 3. Adam Ellis, 4. Norick Blodorn (G), 5. Emil Sayfutdinov, 6. Keynan Rew, 7. Jordan Jenkins.
  4. Another great meeting last night - racing wise, if not score wise. Scunthorpe didn't put up much of a fight, and expected more from the likes of Connor Mountain after his performance for Belle Vue when they visited. Simon Lambert was woeful. For Oxford Cameron Heeps looks rejuvenated this year, just need him to pick up his away form - and Ashton Boughen seems to have found his feet the last few weeks. His pass in heat 14 was sensational.
  5. I have to say the Oxford track has been superb ever since the club returned. Cracking racing almost every week - helped somewhat by Oxford having quite a few entertaining riders in Nicholls, Wright, Tungate, Harris, etc., they all throw the bike around. They might not always win races, but they certainly give everything. Oxford also widened the track and made significant changes from when it last used in 2007. Not that it was ever boring before, but it's superb now.
  6. Why would Glasgow go through if it's a draw and then they win the super heat? Surely both teams would then be on 6 points, but Edinburgh has a superior points difference. Or is there a different tie-breaking procedure? Cancel that, realised Glasgow would have seven points. Doh!
  7. Scott Nicholls' ride in heat 15 was a thing of beauty. Don't know how he keeps doing it. What a legend.
  8. Thoughts on this one? Oxford missing Henry Atkins again (which might be a blessing in disguise, especially at 3), with Jody Scott at number 8. Craig Cook guesting for Josh Pickering. Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Cameron Heeps, 3. Rider replacement, 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Ashton Boughen, 7. Luke Killeen, 8. Jody Scott. Edinburgh Monarchs: 1. Craig Cook (guest), 2. Lasse Fredriksen, 3. Kye Thomson, 4. Paco Castagna, 5. Justin Sedgmen, 6. Max James, 7. Connor Coles.
  9. Lewis Kerr officially back in the Oxford side for Leicester on Monday. Craig Cook's injury cover is over.
  10. Yeah, I was surprised as well. Gate 4 had become dead towards the end of the meeting, and it felt like Lemon just put all his eggs in a Bewley basket off a good gate 2.
  11. Magic's not slow, he's clearly got pace. Problem is he's about two bikes lengths behind at the first bend each race. If he can sort out his starts, he'll be a bargain on his current average.
  12. Technically, yes. Oxford have got two more meetings with Craig Cook....then we'll see what happens.
  13. If I had to guess, I'd say something like... Prem: 2,000-2,500 Champ: 1,000-1,500 NDL: 750-1,250 Fluctuates depending on the fixtures/weather forecasts as well. Ipswich crowd for the Spires match was huge, but was much smaller for King's Lynn for example.
  14. I've seen this mentioned a few times on here, but presumed it was just hearsay. Haven't heard any actual names.
  15. Yawn. Shut up you two, you're both in the wrong and nobody else cares. Let's move on, please!
  16. Belle Vue's first visit to Oxford in 17 years, and a welcome back to former Cheetah Mark Lemon. Should be a close one I reckon, a big ask for Oxford to turn over a 12-point deficit for the bonus point - especially with the way Ben Cook rides Sandy Lane. Thoughts? Oxford Spires: 1. Rohan Tungate, 2. Erik Riss, 3. Charles Wright, 4. Maciej Janowski, 5. Chris Harris, 6. Craig Cook, 7. Ashton Boughen. Belle Vue Aces: 1. Brady Kurtz, 2. Norick Blodorn, 3. Jaimon Lidsey, 4. Ben Cook, 5. Dan Bewley, 6. Connor Mountain, 7. Connor Bailey.
  17. Just a big thank you to @racers and royals for all the hard work that's done providing all the info on here. It's much appreciated.
  18. Good grief! Who cares? Does it really matter who someone supports? It's speedway, not football.
  19. Certainly not. One of the great things about Oxford's return has been the amount of Swindon (and Reading) supporters attending meetings.
  20. I hate to agree with Toady, but he's right. The atmosphere is great and that should be applauded. Just to clarify, I'm not one calling for changes...but (and it's a big BUT), surely Oxford would be foolish not to replace a rider who is going to score six points each meeting with someone who will score ten? However, as Toady has also said, who would that ten point rider be? There probably isn't anybody available anyway....
  21. Oxford potentially has 8 riders and only 7 places, though. That's the problem, so a change has to be made. Either Kerr or Cook goes, or one of the others riders does. Pretty much every member of the team (bar Tungate) has been mentioned, so nobody is focusing on Harris. But at the end of the day, Oxford has a lot of spare points to play with and it would be rather silly of them not to use if they have designs on the title.
  22. Depends how many changes they make. Might come down to money more than anything else.
  23. He might not score as well as Wright or Harris, but his average is 1/1.5 pt lower than them - which gives Oxford more breathing space to bring in someone else on a higher average - such as a certain GP rider that's been mentioned in another thread. It is - of course - swings and roundabouts, and there's no guarantee it'll happen, but Oxford have points to play with either way.
