  1. Plus I'd much rather it was called off beforehand. If they raced one heat and then decided to abandon it, we'd have all got a £9 refund as opposed to a ticket for the re-staging/full refund. Right call in my opinion.
  2. If Oxford get to the final, it will mean the Playoffs and KO Cup finals will have to take place across the next four Wednesdays after that.... Wed 25th Wed 2nd Wed 9th Wed 16th Either Poole or Oxford should ideally stage some meetings on a different day to speed up the process, let's see which team is more flexible and revisit your post.
  3. Kevin Boothby ploughed some cash into the speedway and is keen to have as many meeting as possible.
  4. Oxford looking a bit weaker without Cameron Heeps and Jordan Jenkins in my opinion, need Ashton Boughen to continue his good form and Luke Killeen to rediscover some of his. Likely to be much closer than the league meeting. Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Joe Thompson (G), 3. R/R, 4. Ashton Boughen, 5. Scott Nicholls (C), 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Connor Coles (G), 8. Jody Scott Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Michael Palm Toft, 2. Connor Mountain, 3. Simon Lambert (C), 4. Jake Allen, 5. Kyle Howarth, 6. Nathan Ablitt, 7. Luke Harrison.
  5. If anything, it will surely be the Championship that goes. There's been a big attendance difference between Spires and Cheetahs meetings - the former having some huge crowds and the latter a little bit underwhelming. That said, I'm pretty sure all three teams will be back based on what I've heard.
  6. Excluding his exclusion for going to the pits, Ashton Boughen has scored a paid 40 (38+2) from a possible 42 in his last three meetings (two of which were away from home). What a fantastic end to the season. Watch out Poole!
  7. No Cameron Heeps or Jordan Jenkins for Oxford... Redcar: 1. Charles Wright, 2. Dan Gilkes, 3. Jye Etheridge (G), 4. Jason Edwards, 5. Danny King, 6. Danny Phillips (G), 7. Jake Mulford Oxford: 1. Sam Masters, 2. R/R, 3. Jacob Hook (G), 4. Ashton Boughen, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jody Scott, 8. Ashton Vale
  8. They said in the press conference post meeting that his season was over. Was having x-rays on his scaphoid today I think.
  9. Jordan Jenkins is out for the rest of the season - was confirmed at the press conference post Oxford vs Redcar last night.
  10. Thoughts on this? A few Redcar riders that go well at Oxford (Wright, King, Gilkes, Edwards, etc.), so might be a close one, although the Cheetahs have been pretty formidable at home. Jody Scott in for Adam Roynon and Jye Etheridge guesting for the Bears. Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Cameron Heeps, 3. Ashton Boughen, 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls (C), 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jody Scott (G). Redcar Bears: 1. Charles Wright (C), 2. Dan Gilkes, 3. Jye Etheridge (G), 4. Jason Edwards, 5. Danny King, 6. Ben Trigger, 7. Jake Mulford.
  11. Haha, good point. There's probably more of them turn up, but they're certainly not as noisy or passionate as Plymouth fans.
  12. It's always great to see the Plymouth supporters at Sandy Lane, waving the huge flags. Got to say I don't think there's such passionate supporters from any other visiting team, always creates a great atmosphere.
  13. Yep, imagine if Oxford had got someone like Erik Riss in for Atkins (I think it would have just about fitted when Boughen and Killeen were on 2.00 averages, although I haven't checked). With the form Heeps has shown, they'd have been real title contenders. That side is better than Poole's in my opinion - alas it wasn't to be. 1. Masters 2. Jenkins 3. Heeps 4. Riss 5. Nicholls 6. Killeen 7. Boughen That said, I guess it's also nice they've shown loyalty... but a trophy would also have been good.
  14. Oxford have arguably been robbed of three away wins by poor decisions (Workington, Killeen excluded - Redcar, Nicholls excluded - Berwick, Killeen excluded). Thankfully they should still make the playoffs, but hopefully the luck will start to even itself out!
  15. In the Pairs at Sandy Lane last year he was doing wheelies down the straights while in last position, so it's a fair comment about whether he turns up or not - he was a disgrace. Try respecting the fans and perhaps he'll get the same level of respect in turn.
  16. Pairs line-up. Oxford got to be hot favourites for this, with Glasgow challengers again (depending on Worrall's fitness). PLYMOUTH: Ben Barker & Dan Thompson BERWICK: Lewis Kerr & Drew Kemp GLASGOW: Chris Harris & Steve Worrall (TBC) REDCAR: Charles Wright & Danny King EDINBURGH: Josh Pickering & Justin Sedgmen WORKINGTON: Troy Batchelor & Craig Cook SCUNTHORPE: Michael Palm Toft & Kyle Howarth POOLE: Richard Lawson & Ben Cook OXFORD: Scott Nicholls & Sam Masters
  17. Oxford go top of the league with a win, but might be a tough ask with William Cairns at reserve for Belle Vue. The Colts also have rider replacement for Luke Muff. The Chargers have Max Perry in for Jason Garrad and Jamie Etherington for Alex Spooner. Belle Vue: 1. Sam Hagon, 2. Jack Shimelt, 3. R/R, 4. Matt Marson, 5. Freddy Hodder, 6. William Cairns, 7. Harry McGurk Oxford: 1. Luke Killeen, 2. Ashton Vale, 3. Jamie Etherington, 4. Max Perry, 5. Jody Scott, 6. Jacob Clouting, 7. Senna Summers Belle Vue 50-40 Oxford
  18. Well I know of at least one flat white-loving individual that does! But I was talking about those that live within said conurbation, and how they get a sporting fix.
  19. Another thing that potentially helps Poole is the lack of other major sporting attractions taking place in and around the city. Happy to be corrected, but other than Bournemouth football I'm not sure there's much else for people to get their professional sporting fix. Very similar situation at Oxford. Probably no coincidence that these two are doing so well.
  20. Oh, good spot. Not sure how he slipped through the net. Make that 25 our of 49. Apologies.
  21. That's a bit of a myth. As somebody pointed out earlier, there are quite a few Premiership riders not in the Championship. Edit: I've had a look and just over half don't ride in the Champ (26 out of 49 in the latest declared line-ups). Bewley, Blodorn, Kurtz, Lidsey, Lampart, Lindgren, Pawlicki, Doyle, Ellis, Rew, Sayfutdinov, Iversen, Klindt, Kvech, Rowe, Wojdylo, Becker, Douglas, Fricke, Janowski, Riss, Tungate, C.Holder, J.Holder, Howarth, Woffinden
  22. I'd say it's pretty likely Oxford will be doing all three again. Crowds are very good, fans seem to like the regular weekly racing and I imagine the money is pouring in. If they were to drop one - I'd imagine it would be the Championship that goes, but I doubt (and very much hope) that will not happen.
  23. Of course you're allowed to talk, I simply asked you why you brought up the Tarasenko issue (and claiming Glasgow were gifted the title) if it's water under the bridge? Try answering the question this time!
  24. If it's water under the bridge, why did you bring it up.... AGAIN?
