It's not really a big issue is it. The tractor has be parked somewhere on the centre green, so will impair viewing for somebody regardless of where they put it. It blocks out a very tiny bit of the track.

Yeah, I'm in west London, so it's the closest team to me now. Lovely to be able to see some live speedway again, so more than happy to travel down the M40 a few times a season. I'm sure there are others doing the same. Think it was originally online only ticketing so they could control the crowd numbers while improvements we're still being made to the stadium. I heard somewhere on here that the greyhounds accept cash and card payments on the gate, so expect the same will be done at Oxford once the capacity expands - which I expect is now the case if there were 3,000 for the Pairs. Agreed the novelty might wear off a little if they have another poor season, but, from what I remember Oxford was always pretty well supported. It wasn't a case of dwindling crowd numbers that caused them to close down, but the owners refusing to let them run.

Poole fan who doesn't know his Poole history. Suppose you only started supporting them once they became successful. The original Poole Pirates closed down in the mid-80s and racing only returned when the Weymouth Wildcats were relocated to Poole.

First year? Haha. First year back maybe, Oxford were founded in 1939. The current Poole team is little more than a rebranded Weymouth Wildcats.

I've actually been to Poole twice this season (vs Oxford and vs Berwick) and the crowds were smaller than Oxford's, so not sure what you're talking about. Fair point that not all will be full paying adults, but it'll be the same situation at Poole. Can't comment on sponsorship, but doubt it's much different - at least it's not going to make up Poole's shortfall from gate receipts. Plus, advertising isn't a revenue by the way! It's a shame you feel so threatened by Oxford that you've felt the need to make it all about Poole, but that's life. Some people are just like that.

When you're getting the biggest attendances in the league, if not the country, then I'm sure it is probably accurate. 2,000 x £18 = £36,000 a meeting, plus an additional 600 (ish) x £12 for the Chargers = £7,200. I doubt any other club (except maybe Belle Vue) got those kind of gate receipts week in/week out.

Harris is top 10 in the Premiership averages, but isn't good enough to be a heat leader. Haha

If you take Leicester's three heat leaders (D. Thompson, J. Thompson and Coles), they performed the following... Atkins (beat them TWICE - Joe Thompson once and Connor Coles once) Boughen (beat them ONCE - Connor Coles, BUT he would have also beaten Joe Thompson if he hadn't lost his steel shoe) They faced all three of them the same amount of times, and rode in the same total amount of heats across both legs. Reserve or not (apart from heat 2, they were pretty much in the same quality heats and performed very similarly). Did you watch either meeting against Leicester? Because Boughen showed far more potential than Atkins.

Any news on who Oxford might be looking at for next season? In my opinion Troy Batchelor, Paul Starke and Cameron Heeps all need to be shown the door, and Aaron Summers is obviously retiring. Only ones I'd retain are Dillion Ruml and Scott Nicholls (and maybe Jack Thomas).

Max Fricke scored 9 and 10 on his two visits to Sheffield this season, and Robert Lambert got 10. Hardly game-changing. Yes, he got a max at Belle Vue, but if I were a Sheffield fan I'd be looking at your own riders' performances as opposed to looking for excuses. Jack Holder only scoring 2? That's where you lost it.

Nothing compared to 'happy' Peter Adams and the late Colin Pratt.
