  1. I'd disagree slightly with that... Tungate and Janowski would probably be more than a match for Lynn riders at the AFA
  2. Have they managed to get it reassessed to 5, so they can then bring in a number one on an 8?
  3. If Nicholls can't get it right, then Tatum has no chance! 😂
  4. Interesting news story on the Brummies website… apparently they have managed to ‘lure’ Rew away from Ipswich… Pretty sure he lured himself away 🤣
  5. Ipswich Belle Vue Kings Lynn Leicester Sheffield Oxford Birmingham I'm confident on the top 2 and I think if Lynn build some momentum, then they will win most of their home matches and surprise a couple of teams on the road, Unless Oxford pull a big signing out of the bag, I think they are a HL short of being a threat and will be battling Brum to avoid the wooden spoon. Of course throw an injury or two into the mix, a missed flight and a fall out with a promoter and this prediction will be turned on it's head I'm sure!
  6. You can't fault the enthusiasm of Hume and I imagine he is great to have around the pits, but as others have mentioned, his keenness is often his undoing unfortunately
  7. Oh yes, good point - so used to going on my own! 🤣
  8. It's all relative... It doesn't feel that long ago that starters in restaurants were 3 or 4 quid... now they are £7+ The only irksome thing is when you then need the change in your pocket for a programme which isn't in the entry cost - I'd rather just pay one cost for both
  9. It is odd... Someone mentioned it the other day, but does it throw doubt on Riss being signed up? If the Spires go for Riss and Gilkes, they have over 10 to play with... Unless they are deliberately building well under the limit and anticipating someone becoming available during the season to then switch in perhaps
  10. You've got to believe that Rew would've been retained if his demands were inline with what management wanted to pay. Ipswich persevered with him during his first season where he was below his 4 point assessed average and started to reap the rewards last year... So would surely have been keen to sign him up for 2025 when he will likely continue his progression. On that basis, I would guess that Ellis or King were lined up to make way - the latter has hinted at that with his recent comments.
  11. Yes, so if a team wants him now he'll have to go in as a number 6 and leave the RS scheme and trigger the 25% reduction.
  12. Thinking that his 3.26 will be adjusted by the 25% reduction and obviously he can't go below 3
  13. So is Gilkes on a 3 as he won't be in the rising star position?
  14. Oxford must have a new number one lined up surely? Tungate did a great job last year and Janowski will surely improve his average, but the Spires will need more firepower to challenge
  15. We could be in for some cracking derby matches at the AFA - Wish the Stars well this season and like TTT says, looks like a solid side
  16. Likely losing Lawson is a big blow for Leicester... For me, I'd be trying to keep him over Becker and look to get Vuolas in at reserve
  17. Seems absurd that you suggest that Emil is on the decline - Or have I misinterpreted?
  18. Logic would say that Musielak is their new number 1, but I wonder if they will go for a couple of 6 pointers and push Riss back to reserve?
  19. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Brum did sign Laguta... Yes it would be a massive gamble, but you've got to believe that Lindgren is off the table, so what other possible marquee signings are there?
  20. Assuming Doyle is in that leaves 6.8 points (based on a 40 point limit)… Is Rew the final man and we have built over a point under or will there be a curve ball and it’s a 39 limit??
  21. From reading that article it sounds like King's hand still isn't great... For me signing him is a gamble. On one hand (no pun intended) it may struggle to improve - I'm no clinician, but every op generates scar tissue and that appears to be part of the problem already. However on the other, if he gets that hand back working and he has 3 genuine heat leaders (Brennan incoming hopefully) carrying the scoring load, then the pressure will be off and he could have a solid season. I genuinely hope its the latter and ready as ever to get behind the riders we have!
