Morris and Killeen at Leicester Sheffield will need to decide if it’s both Holders or its no Holders as they come as a pair not. Personally I’d keep Jack at 1 and Chris at 5 and let Pickering have a season elsewhere, Rowe and Flint will be back for 2026 at 2 and 4, love to see Musielak back at 3, then Etheridge at 6 and someone like Harrison or Abblitt at Rising Star

Two of them another type of big cat further down the M1 for 2026 from what I’ve seen

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
InTheDeepStuff replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Pretty sure if Glasgow wanted the Premiership they would move up, they don’t need financial support that’s for sure. They’d loose out fan wise as it’s a helluva trek on a Monday or Thursday even from the closest track which would be Belle Vue, so not many travelling fans would turn up, plus loosing matches v Edinburgh and Berwick that always bring better crowds in. They’ve already signed riders up in the Championship so can’t see them back tracking now for this coming season anyway. Geographically you’d think Scunthorpe would be the one to put their hand up to move up a league and Godfrey to back up his ideas, get a local(ish) derby back against Sheffield and not too far away from Leicester or Kings Lynn -

Anyone heard anything on the back of last Wednesdays ‘emergency’ BSPL meeting? Believe it was called as all not well with the set up costs initially to Northampton as under egged, causing them to not want to enter in the Prem and then other Promoters not happy with 5 team league (Belle Vue, Ipswich, Kings Lynn and Sheffield) as Glasgow and Poole staying where they are in Championship. Be interesting to see if it is 5 teams if sticking with the initially agreed 6 plus RS teams with 36 average (no cap on riders above a certain average) -
Woffinden not doing UK in 2026, concentrating on Poland and GP’s. Take a brave promotion to take him on anyway at start of season on his high average having missed 18 months

Top three of Harris, Howarth and Flint (I’d add Morris to that four but pretty sure he’s back at Berwick on what is a steal of an average) should grab a decent amount of points one and away, a less top heavy team will allow to have one slightly stronger reserve at 6 and hope there’s a 0.5 point increase each in the engine room and reserves in case some mid season tinkering needed 1 Harris 8.90 2 Jake Mulford 4.26 3 Leon Flint 6.95 4 Tate Zischke 5.43 5 Kyle Howarth 7.92 6 Sam Hagon 3.48 7 Freddie Holder 2.63 Averages = 39.57 -
With the rumoured 36 point limit plus Rising Star I’d look for something like this with the 2.5% off for Brits and 25% off Flints end of year average 1 Jack Holder 9.08 2 Leon Flint 5.06 3 Nick Morris 5.89 4 Anders Rowe 5.21 5 Josh Pickering 7.76 6 Jye Etheridge 3.00 RS Luke Harrison Total Team Average = 36 If the annual ‘no Jack Holder at Sheffield’ rumours are true then something like this 1 Josh Pickering 7.76 2 Kyle Howarth 5.00 3 Chris Holder 6.84 4 Leon Flint 5.06 5 Tobias Musielak 6.63 6 Jonas Jeppesen 4.34 RS Luke Harrison Total Team Average = 35.63

From what I’ve heard and also seen others state elsewhere the limit for 2026 is 36 plus RS. Going to be some decisions for the teams over the next few weeks

From what I was told earlier today I believe Mr Tolley’s involvement at a club in 2026 will be a bit closer to his Midlands base

Lemon too faithful to Tate, should have been binned well before his average plummeted to 3 points -

52-38 to Belle Vue, Aces top two will be backed up well by Lidsey and Cook. Don’t think Emil and Doyle will pick up many wins but should get a decent haul, will be reliant on King and Brennan as Ellis has not done well at NSS apart from the season he won British Final. -

Not unless he’s in a team where he can stay at number 6 all season, juts can’t cut it in main body of the team -

Interesting that the British Speedway website still hasn’t updated the latest team declarations to include the Sheffield changes, they usually update on same day of the announcement, surely Sheffield wouldn’t announce signings that didn’t fit within the points limit allowed?? -

Personally think this is two good changes and were needed. Sedgmen has struggled all season at home his last two performances there were shocking. As for Kerr we’ve seen again that when not at the number 6 reserve more times than not he doesn’t score his average (that 16 at King’s Lynn has given him a bit of an artificially high average). For the two new signings Etheridge was on the Sheffield radar for a 2024 team spot following his Play Off final performance at Owlerton but points wouldn’t fit him in, he’ll definitely score more than Sedgmen at home, away just depends what tracks Sheffield have left to visit. Morris has to be race rusty, hopefully he’s managed to get some new kit under him, if he can pick up 6-8 points from 4 rides home and away don’t think much more can be asked for
