  1. It was £27 to sit (£25 to stand) at Belle Vue earlier today so tonight is £3 or £5 more to watch 15 more heats if both Sheffield and Belle Vue junior teams, don’t see why Belle Vue fans should be whinging about that
  2. Lemon was quick to drop Mountain last season wonder if he’ll be as quick dropping an Aussie in Zischke? He looked poor for Workington on Saturday and even worse today, if the outside line doesn’t work he looks lost. For me Belle Vue need to change it at number 6 now and can always bring Zischke back in later in the season if he regains some form in the Championship
  3. Should be some good battles this evening, Harris v Cook, Thompson v Kemp and Howarth v Kildemand, plus Smith wanting to prove a point down at reserve, could be very close if Tigers top 5 aren’t all at 100%
  4. Always a risk signing Cook as Leicester have already experienced this year, all in all think Leicester have the better deal with Kemp
  5. When MJJ goes this month (when Swedish season start) watch Zagar’s visa be OK and him come back like a rat up a drainpipe wanting his £3k a meeting increasing to £4k holding Birmingham to ransom to ensure they have some sort of team to put out
  6. From when I’ve seen Boughen ride live and on tv he’s never wanted to ‘mix it’ in the first bend rolling off seems the be the common thought process for him If he hasn’t gated, being fast tracked after his moto-x and not having much opportunity to go through likes of NDL and get used to the hurly burly first bends it’s sort of biting him in the arse now with riding with better riders generally it’s 3 or 4 riders all there wanting similar space at same time. Think it’s going to have to be a patience thing with him and just know he could be a 0,3,0 type of rider until something clicks with him with the tough first bends. If he gates as people have said he looks fast as, so there’s definitely something there to work with
  7. See Max Perry has withdrawn after two rides tonight for Kings Lynn Young Stars, hopefully nothing too serious and just precautionary
  8. Anyone know what the revised line up is for this meeting? Heard there’s been at least rider pull out who'd been seeded direct to the British Final itself. Be good to know whose been ‘promoted’ from the semi
  9. Very much gate and go last night and think scoreline flattered Sheffield a bit, most races all over by exit of turn 2. Good points for Flint although still doesn’t look quick out front, but suppose that’s the more experienced riders know how to shepherd home a younger rider. Decent Tigers (2nd) debut for Kerr only dropping points after a ‘love tap’ on Kildemand. Sheffield’s top 3 did what they needed to with Jack looking fast all night (did he jump in ht15?) As for Oxford surprised Wright didn’t get Ht15 having scored more points that Janowski in less rides, suppose it depends what riders have written into their contracts (example being Musielak for Birmingham at Ipswich !!), Riss, Kildemand and the reserves didn’t really show up so was only a 3 rider fight.
  10. End of season only if it finishes in June
  11. No reason for it to be extended, it’ll be a case of replacement or R/R / Guest at reduced average, Sheffield need to use this chance to strengthen bottom order by replacing Woffinden and Hume with Worrall and Sedgman (or Kerr) would take a bit of pressure off Rowe and Flint making two changes
  12. Gilkes incoming for Hagon if Leicester want any chance of competing when it comes to Rising Star
  13. Wonder when we’re going to hear some news on the replacement(s) at Sheffield?
  14. If Doyle and Emil can recover their usual away form after Birmingham blip then can see an away win 40-50, Thompson should be getting a good haul points if current form is continued as can’t see either home reserve beating him. The Becker/Douglas/Howarth v King/Ellis/Brennan will be key if Leicester are to get anything as can’t see Masters picking up much against the Witches 1 & 5 during the night
  15. If the tracks are flat and slick like NSS as an example Cook generally OK, once there’s a bit of dirt on there or a bit of an uneven track he generally struggles (his away average wasn’t great last season), he should really be a number 2 or 4 for Kings Lynn but unfortunately for him the team wasn’t built with out and out heat leaders
  16. 10-12 point home win. For Kings Lynn majority of points will come from Harris with a bit of backup from NKI and Kvech, having Cook at number 1 especially at a track he’s struggled is a big weak point and can’t seen him bothering the Sheffield heat leaders. Lawson and Klindt hit and miss around Owlerton with riding order being key for those two. As for Sheffield can only see Holder’s being caused an issue by Harris, don’t think Pickering, Rowe and Flint will score as high as they did against a poor Birmingham side, but will have enough in the tank even having to run R/R to get over the line
  17. Glasgow have definitely got Kyle Howarth on a bargain average, can see him adding at least a point to his season starting one
  18. No steam service from Sheffield and league meetings on TNT not due to start until 28th April, the Sheffield v Kings Lynn meeting a week in Thursday (10th April) will be shown on BSN
  19. Can see Sheffield brining in a rider with a lower average for Thursday whose UK based and only riding Championship at moment (Worrall, Schlein if want to come out of retirement) and the other two meetings in April. Then after new averages issued make another change and replace Hume with a 5ish pointer like Kerr, Sedgman, Castagna etc
  20. Witches by 16, as per first leg majority of Aces points by their big two, with other five toiling
  21. Personally think we are a lot worse off in 2025, basically we are riding with 3 reserves. I can’t see Rowe scoring the points at number two that Howarth did, his 2024 average is blinkered by the fact he rode 99% of season at number 7. It needs Pickering to turn his good month of August into a full season to make this team set up work, can’t afford for him to be inconsistent home or away like he was in majority of 2024 or we’ll struggle
  22. Based on the full team announcements 1 Ipswich - great all round 1-7, can’t see them losing many home or away 2 Belle Vue - dominant at NSS, hopefully SGP doesn’t impact Kurtz form 3 Leicester - solid, definitely room for improvement in engine room 4 Kings Lynn - Harris at reserve in March and April trump card, can’t see other adding same points when he moves out, will improve on last season 5 Sheffield - Bottom end weak and inconsistent, too reliant on Holder bros, Woffinden will need time to get back to speed 6 Birmingham - exciting team should get home wins on the board 7 Oxford - can’t see the strategy of the line up, long season ahead
  23. Not enough volunteers in afraid for that to happen unless the club pays folk for doing the task rather than them doing it for free
  24. Even as a Sheffield fan you can see the Emil one was due to him having to hit that dirt line that had built up next to the fence to get past Jack Holder, problem being there just wasn’t the room available to get man and machine through the gap as Jack had ridden (safely wasn’t fencing Emil) as wide as he could. Whereas the Ben Cook one was mid track on bend 2, he was nowhere near the high line when he crashed, that one was simply pilot error and with him being extremely lightweight he had no power to control yhe bike and it spat him off. Seen plenty of incidents where riders hit the dirt line on bend and it stops/slows them down due to the sheer volume, but again over last few seasons most accidents/falls have been pilot error. The Emil crash could have been stopped if as people say the dirt had been moved in from 3ft away from the fence to mid track but after a race or two it’s back there again and then fans whinge due to tractor being out again as you’d need possibly 4 track staff on each corner to rake that in with the size of Owlerton
  25. Danyon Hume at the STAARS meeting this Thursday 16th Jan at New Barrack Tavern
