  1. When are we going to start seeing some team announcements, or do we have to wait for the annual pi$$ up/AGMin Spain to be finished in November? Every other country making riders as per usual just the usual dawdling around by British teams
  2. Think Howarth is on a false average, he’s regularly had to do 6 rides a meeting to cover for MPT being injured in middle and end of season, it’s always difficult to maintain an average when that’s the case as usually means racing the opposition number 1 or 5 like 4 times a meeting (two regular, ht15 and R/R ride). He could be a steal for someone this season, think he’s based down south so it might be more down to travelling than numbers
  3. Easy choice really keep the Holder bros. Nobody knows how Woffinden will come back from this latest injury so always a risk especially when carrying a high average
  4. Problem Leicester have with their current top 5 is that they have reached their peak and existing averages are only going to go down. They haven’t got someone who you can see adding 0.5-1.0 pro their average . For 2025 they need better consistency from Fricke and someone to step up from the other 4. I’d stick with Fricke, Douglas, Lawson, the Masters/Becker combo is too flaky as shown far too recently. The reserve area need a rethink, going back to Cook, Kerr, Kemp season on season just isn’t working, get in a solid 5 pointer down there like Sedgman, Howarth, Batchelor or even look at a returner like Jakobsen take pressure off the Rising Star. Know it’s easy to point it out but harder to fix it
  5. Cook won’t be riding Wednesday from what I was told in Poland at the weekend, he will be back Thursday for Belle Vue though.
  6. Signed up in Sweden again next season, he’s said before it’s one of Sweden or UK alongside Poland, so can’t see him over here unless comes in pre 75% completion and does back end of season
  7. Just seen one of Taylor’s pics showing the track looks a tad tacky can see some blading action going your way happen to slicken it off to suit the home team, that’s what track prep and home advantage is all about though.
  8. Do you think certain riders had already been told before the meeting “thank you for 2024 but we won’t be using you in 2025” ? Can’t make my mind up if it was equipment, track, mindset after the Cook crash or if there was another agenda but both Holder’s had an off night for some reason
  9. Well Sheffield ballsed up with Harris as a guest in KO Cup final after announcing he was in the team had to retract it and use R/R instead so mustn’t be any process or procedure to get rubber stamped before announcing a revised team with a guest(s)
  10. Great comment, Kyle’s on a 5 point average (6 when BP’s included, 23 of the for the year) he rides at number 2 with Jack for 3 races each meeting, so Example Emil in front, Jack 2nd place and Kyle 3rd what’s he supposed to do race Jack for the extra point to increase his green sheet average or let Jack concentrate on possibly attacking Emil or sit behind partner pick up the bonus point for finishing behind him? If suddenly Kyle starts leading Jack each race and increases his average to say 6.50 and Jack’s average then goes down to 7.30 the fans (fickle ones anyway) would be on Jack’s case saying he ain’t good enough. Its a team sport in the league and sometimes riders sacrifice their scoring positions to the better rider in the team for the benefit of the team, bigger picture and all that
  11. Get your brush out Lemon, this has May Spring Bank Holiday written all over it if it goes ahead. You’d think Belle Vue would want but off so that they can possibly have track prep’d as they want it rather than as weather makes it, plus gives advantage of second leg at home (unless Thursday is a washout also) The joys of play off speedway in late September (or October) !!
  12. Know we got to the play offs but the top heavy and weak reserves definitely caught us out in the end, hopefully a little bit more solid from 1-6 in 2025. Chris H should be first name on the team sheet, was our rider of the year by a country mile. We all know what Jack’s capable of he’s been around the number 1 race jacket for 4 seasons now and no reason why that can’t continue. Pickering could be a steal at under 7 average if he starts to start seasons as he finishes the previous one, usually takes until mid July for him to get into top gear. Just hope the promotion don’t get hung up on the Woffinden ‘adds to the gate’ factor to include him in the 1-7 as think that’s run it’s cause. Howarth had a very inconsistent season but showed again in the KO cup final away at Ipswich and play off final at home that he’s capable of scoring well against tough opposition, so that 5.05 average could he easily add a point too Would love to see Harris there on that 6.06 average, he’d be good for double digits most weeks around Owlerton and scored well at all the other UK tracks, there’d be less pressure on him with Holder bros and Pickering ahead of him in the averages. Rowe is nailed on and should be comfortable at number 6 to start with, putting pressure on Howarth for the number 2 race jacket. Rising Star I’d like to see someone new, we’ve tried with Gilles and he’s not progressed at all this year, Edwards can be good if he gates but passing especially around Owlerton isn’t his strong point and I bet he’d admit that. Ablitt scored well for the Cubs team Owlerton so could be looked at and if Oxford didn’t want Kileen I’d snap him up in a heartbeat, Foord might be a raw novice but seen him on BSN for Poole beating the other Rising Stars home and away so worth a shot also
  13. Belle Vue need to hope that NKI is on it straight away and no race rustiness as will be knocking on 3 weeks since his last meeting
  14. Pickering and Chris Holder will be in Ekstraliga 2 (Lezsno and Ostrow) so could be impacted by this Thursday TV night for that league in Poland Think Dan Gilkes could do with some time at a different track as a Rising Star, fine when he gates but rarely do you do you see him gain points from the back, a stint at somewhere like Ipswich would be great for him to learn some more track craft
  15. Charles Wright is a shoe in and you’d think Jason Edwards will continue also, would like to see Kyle Howarth at Redcar, he definitely knows his way around there and on a good average also for 2025.
  16. Yes they have the 2.5% off for being British and the 25% off for exiting Rising Star
  17. Meeting done and dusted in 65 minutes, that’s some going!! Pickering with another superb performance on what could be his last in Edinburgh colours
  18. Lemon raising prices to reduce the debt from the SoN!! There was plenty Sheffield fans at NSS on Monday, plenty of pockets in S2 and S3 plus B2BA in S1 plus those in the posh seats 🤪, they don’t all congregate together though like the Belle Vue fans did on Thursday to create the atmosphere Imagine there’s a lot of thought now going into the guest(s) for Ben Cook as will be a tough one to run R/R
  19. After another good season in 2024 the Tigers current 1-6 totalled 41.50 points so based on the start limit being 40 points in 2025 like it was this season they’ll need some changes in the line up to loose that 1.50 points, with surely one of the big three leaving Jack Holder - 8.85 Kyle Howarth - 5.05 Josh Pickering - 6.74 Chris Harris - 6.06 Chris Holder - 8.79 Anders Rowe - 3.91 Edwards/Ablitt/Foord - Rising Star Total - 39.40
  20. Greyhound owners won’t let them move the kerb in, they have asked on numerous occasions, I idea they won’t as the centre green was last used in 80’s when either rugby league or American football used it, but it’s just for the greyhounds to have a dump on
  21. Leicester have a much better chance v Sheffield than they have Belle Vue. Even with Fricke’s iffy form around Owlerton they can easily keep it close with Lawson, Masters, Becker and Douglas all capable of good scores around there, whereas at NSS Fricke can be very good as per last visit but fail to get the back up. Personally think if it’s a Leicester v Sheffield final with first leg at Leicester it’d be 52-38/49-41 so aggregate win of 93-87 to Leicester and versus Belle Vue with first leg at NSS 53-37/49-41 so aggregate win of 94-86 to Belle Vue
  22. Now here’s Jack’s side of the accusations, the people concerned might have made a mountain out of a molehill but gone very low aiming comments at family who were nothing to do with the initial incident. @Sheffield Speedway Can’t believe I have to post this about the false allegations against me, Always 2 sides to every story, this have been made into a bigger issue then it has to be. So after heat 15 I had come into the pits, took my helmet off and there was a kid at the fence asking for the racecard which I gave to him through a chain wire fence, I turned back around to talk with my teammates, the kid then asked for me to sign the racecard which I did and then handed it back through the fence which had then ripped so I picked both pieces up and gave them back to the kid, who looked very happy! The dad then came to the fence and was abusing me. I asked him what the issue was and he stated that I threw the racecard at his son and his son was crying. I turned back around to my team to talk about the meeting but apparently tried to bring my team manager and my brother into the argument which is also false. How can I throw a program at a kid through a chain wire fence? This has to be very clear! There was no security called or anything like he claimed, Then after getting home from the meeting the father has even gone as far as repeatedly commenting on my partner and my son’s photos with disgusting comments. Since the meeting he has gone on a rampage trying to spread false information all over social media. The way they have interpreted the interaction is so far from the truth it’s actually a joke. Also threatening my team manager Simon stead and laughing about it as it’s all over social media. So I am unsure if this is supposed to be a funny thing or a now serious thing.
  23. Minority give the majority a bad name, even as a Sheffield fan I cringe at the Bend2 clowns trying to be equivalent of football Stone Island brigade with their repetitive idiotic chanting when they’ve gone past the line on more than one occasion
