  1. Saw him recently at the Grasstrack at Dalton Barracks, handing out Brummies leaflets
  2. What!??? Did you want Fundin, Mauger, Tony Rick banned to give others a chance? No, they were looked on as legends.
  3. Oh! Hardly unbelievable though? Thought it was some dramatic happening that was… unbelievable! Thanks, pal!
  4. Not to mention that the meeting is on tv too. I’ve said all along that televising UK meetings keeps paying spectators away.
  5. Great ride by Bomber there - apparently!
  6. Reading this thread is awful. But I spotted this and am amazed that this SM situation has arisen - Press & Social Media Output: David Rowe/Curtis Sport
  7. Nice thought, but I don’t the capacity would be much more than half that figure
  8. Nothing wrong with it as far as Adam’s concerned - saw one of his really big offs at Brandon where he wasn’t moved for 40 minutes. I’m calling out a system which runs a competition called “development” which includes a rider with 20 years experience of league racing. Don’t jump to conclusions!
  9. Correct, but the influence of Croker (the FA) was decisive
  10. It was Ted Croker of the FA which got the speedway kicked out of the Empire Stadium
  11. No.2 above. Each numbered square represents a rider. Choose three numbers and hope they are the correct ones.
  12. Part of the “magic” of the Empire Stadium was that it produced the World Champion. If this idea were to go ahead, it would just be one of the qualifying rounds in the GP series (OOFC).
  13. Ah, the book. I think it’s all been said. Nicely produced, as usual from Tony, with interesting insight into PCs early life and the pre-Belle Vue days. One or two contradictions, one early on with dates and one about Kenny Carter dropping out or being dropped. Nevertheless, well presented. Overshadowed by the feud, and one wonders whether the feud was in any way the reason for the book. Content from this thread seems to cast serious doubts on PCs version of events, which I’m afraid leaves a bit of a sour taste at the end of the day. If you take my comment as snide, sobeit, but he clearly hasn’t done his reputation any good at all, which others have also suggested.
  14. I’ve only just finished reading the book, followed by then reading this thread. So….
  15. The words “good” and “PC’s reputation” don’t really lie well (!!!) together
