  1. Congratulations to Chris Harris on becoming 2024 European Champion.
  2. Not rain, but fog! I was at Crewe in 1969 when their meeting with Long Eaton was abandoned after seven heats. Perhaps on a smaller track they could have carried on???!!!
  3. Old Time Speedway has gone missing too!
  4. Karl is mystified why it’s been deactivated, with no explanation from FB. Speedway Scrapbook has offered him a way back.
  5. Remember watching him in the “third half” races, great entertainment post meeting!
  6. Really? How does that work then?
  7. Sad news indeed. One of the very best in an era of many great riders. Condolences to Chris and the rest of the family. RIP Tiger.
  8. Me too. Just seven days older than Flyer!
  9. The clue is in the thread title. World Final winners, not GP series winners.
  10. Guess what! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68372224
  11. For me, the World Individual Championship ran from 1936 to 1994. Before then there were various other events, 1940-48 too. From 1995, there’s been a Grand Prix Series, with its own champion.
  12. https://www.fim-moto.com/en/news/news-detail/article/liverpool-successfully-delivers-2023-fim-awards
  13. Peo Soderman didn’t stay too long in the UK. Perhaps he should have done!
  14. Waiting for Chris Harris to arrive to make up the numbers
  15. As usual, great set of photos, Steve But, as usual, no identities shown. Is there any chance you can add captions to them…. please!!!!
  16. Somewhere else that’s closed is Jack’s Hill Cafe on the A5 to the north of Towcester. This was a regular stop for supporters’ coaches returning north from the big meetings at Wembley, also in the London area such as British Finals, FIM Internationale, etc.
