  1. Exactly. I watched the meeting back again last night and yes, there were some decent races, but 50% of the field looked like maintaining control of their machines was a struggle. The standard is so poor. I’ll go back to heat four. If Luke Killeen is in control of his bike, Dan Thompson’s probably waking up as British Under-21 champion this morning. Killeen didn’t though and Thompson’s evasive action of cutting back has rewarded him with a broken wrist. Bitterly disappointing.
  2. It’s a travesty there’s no international mechanism for proper punishment in these scenarios. What a complete scumbag move from Polis.

  4. How can Polis just decide he doesn’t fancy riding in the UK, leaving Edinburgh snookered? Doesn’t speedway’s governing body - FIM, I believe - hold riders accountable for this sort of unprofessionalism?
  5. Yeah, Cairns is a huge prospect. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in the Championship with Poole. I don’t mean to be negative, but overall, I’m surprised by how poor the general standard is. Admittedly, I was on a lengthy hiatus from speedway, but I attended these meetings won by Scott Nicholls, Simon Stead with the likes of David Howe, Oliver Allen and Edward Kennett in amongst it. The standard was high, but today, I thought you could tell these were young boys; so much hesitancy and stiffness going round the bends. He didn’t, so it’s irrelevant, but had Dan Thompson not crashed, he’d have won that at an absolute canter this afternoon. The field used to be filled with Dan Thompson’s.
  6. Congratulations to Hagon who, after a last place in his first ride, did remarkably well to turn it around. Luke Harrison must be bitterly disappointed. That trophy was 99% his, had the referee not called it back for Thompson moving. Was that the correct decision? Probably, but harsh. Really disappointing day for our three. Perry didn’t disgrace himself, but didn’t compete while Hodder and Boughen were really poor, considering how much more exposure they get to the track than the rest of the field. More mechanical issues for Boughen, but you can tell he’s lacking confidence. He’s hesitating going into bends. Who knows what’s going on?
  7. Glad I gave this a miss. Really unimpressed by the standard. Best wishes and regards to Dan Thompson. I missed the replay, so I’ve only had the benefit of one viewing, but dare I say it, Killeen turned right coming out of the gate, forcing Thompson to take evasive action, cutting back, resulting in the nudge from Foord which pushed him into Killeen. Happy to stand corrected, but if that’s an accurate description once I watch it back, it’s frustrating that we’ve now had Howarth and Thompson involved in incidents which weren’t their doing. Perry is doing a job, but Boughen and Hodder should be disappointed. They look like foreigners on their own track. Another big win for Jody Scott.
  8. Superb from Howarth and Thompson, but what a joke of a finale; a “super heat”.😂 Massive credit to Boughen. A young boy who’s found himself a victim of his own success in the main body of the team at just 17 years old, but what a performance from him. Classy.
  9. Incredible ride from Thompson. 45-45, I’ll take that. Almost as embarrassing as Flint’s performance tonight is the fact we’ll now have a “super heat”. Childish nonsense. Draws happen in sport.
  10. Didn’t even lay a glove on Scunthorpe’s reserve. Embarrassing from Flint.
  11. Unbelievable speedway.😂 What a turn around, but this is a massive heat for Flint. An ill Harris has delivered, now it’s Flint’s turn. Love that Boughen is out encouraging his team mates. Brilliant team spirit.
  12. What a race. That’s what speedway is all about. Unbelievable from Thompson and Howarth, but credit where it’s due, Kennedy should take a bow.
  13. Jesus, that’s a brutally honest interview from Lambert. I feel sorry for him; blatantly fearing for his job.
  14. Shambles of a night from Harris and Flint here. Really disappointing.
  15. Decent start. Needing Harris and Flint to get the fingers out, then it should be comfortable. They don’t look anything special.
  16. To be fair, there’s been a few decent heats now. Lambert v Worrall, Bewley v Lambert, Wright v Brennan, etc.
  17. I was suggesting, I was asking.😂 In the early to mid 2000s - when these sort of tours happened - our home meetings took place on a Sunday afternoon.
