  1. I have looked at all your posts and bow to the knowledge and comments listed. The GP system has a few faults for me which i will list. But before doing so i would like to say that what ever points system they use its the greatest show on earth for (me and i don't mean circus). 1 We buy a program but don't bother to attempt to fill it in on the night, it takes up to much time and is complicated. We want to see what is happening and have some fun between each race. 2 The first eight heats do seem to be less exciting. 3 To ride for a safe second, thats not racing racing should be to win.
  2. I know it will never happen, building a major stadium for speedway the cost would be to much but what is wrong with dreaming. A piece of land out in the country, big enough to house a large stadium and car park. Elite league sides to meet each other on their home tracks once and a third match to be held at the new stadium. The same for the Premier and Conference clubs, then all the top individual meetings. With the GP Make it a two day spectacular. The first day practice followed with a massive party with live music fire works and a fair. Hire local fields for camping. Hire the stadium out for dog racing with a track built on the inside of the speedway track for a change, have a casino a large resturant. Use it for concerts. Have a weekly training school through out the year. Now where is my cheque book
  3. I thought there was more than one lot of cameras covering the GP, guess i'm just thick. I would be interested in a copy of your recording 2bendbeerhut and would cover any costs if that is possible thanks.
  4. I've got the sky coverage of the GP but wondered if anyone knows if i can get a copy of the meeting from Polish tv.
  5. Well done Jason, love him or hate him he will be a good World Champ and in some ways as conroversial as Niki. Another great character and a great racer.
  6. Thanks for all of your help our first trip to Bydgoszcz was great. Bumped into five really nice people from Coventry but only one forum member. We stayed until the 22nd having three nights at Warsaw and found it very interesting. The speedway was great. We tried a lot of Polish food from local bars to a top resturant called the Fukeirer or something like that the cheapest was £5 for two and the dearest £60. Met Sophie what a lovely lady, also had a chat to Ole Olsen a charming man evn though he used to ride for Wolves.
  7. AJ at 10/1 looks good value to me. Lucas Dryml at 125/1 maybe its time he regained his old form. He likes the big tracks and of course riding at Peterbourgh plus he had a good tusle with Crump last week, so E/W maybe not such a silly bet.
  8. It would be nice to see it go to the last GP but i will be quite happy if Crump wins at Bydgoszcz. He seems to be loved or hated so there will be plenty of emotion next year. Mark Lee Scott Would be great AJ Greg Jason Thomas
  9. Yes Rico trying the local nosh is part of the fun of the trip for us, mind you i will probably have the odd chip and glass of beer.
  10. The things to try are Bigos,Pierogi anfd Gotabki so i have been told and all sound delicious according to the internet.
  11. Just wondered whether there are any speedway tracks in Warsaw as we are staying there on 20th&21st. As for the rest of the trip it seems like we have changed everything we had to. We are now traveling straight down to Bydgoszcz on friday rather than staying in Warsaw. Our flight is from heathrow around six am, maybe there will be other speedway fans on the plane, that would be good. We are staying at the Pod for the two nights. We were originally staying at the City just for the saturday night but could not get the two nights there because of changing our plans. Will be going to the Brda for the meet up. Thanks to you all for your help with my questions.
  12. Is the hotel Brda a private meet up or can we pop in
  13. I remember his days at Cradley Heath a sound team man.
  14. We have tickets in block M28 level 4 row 1 and have managed to book the same hotel as last year. We are paying fifty percent more for the hotel room and five pounds more for each ticket, to be honest the price does not matter its so good to be there. But i'm thinking that maybe greed could be the killer to such a wonderful occasion in the future.I have enjoyed every year so far but last year was the best for me.
  15. Thanks Rico for you advice. May see you in the Pod Orlem Hutchie.
  16. Thats him Salty, you are right about the red scarf, those were the days eh!.
  17. I'm sorry if i caused you to panic Joanne and Splatty or anyone else. I have told you what i have been told. We were going to stay in Warsaw on the 17th and travel down to Bydgoszcz on the 18th and had a confirmed booking for the City hotel for the 18th, however we decided to travel to Bydgoszcz on 17th and when we tried to book the City hotel for the 17th were told there were no vacancies for the 17th and that if more staff needed to book the hotel we would be moved to alternative accomidation on the 18th. Maybe we are getting the mess around i don't know, but in all honesty i thought it was better to let people know the situation. Thanks HenryW for the info amy bump into you at the bar.
  18. Yes mate the money order form from your bank needs to be filled in with the payment. Bank Pocztowy S.A.- Oddzial w Bygoszczy Pocz Pl P4 and the rather long number after it. This should be on the fax that you were sent. I don't want to put the number on incase of security, hope it helps. You can E-mail me at sjw1@blueyonder.co.uk if you need anymore help Martin. Is any one staying at the Pod Orlem,we are changing hotels from the City hotel because we have been told that even though we have booked quite a while ago that we may have to be sent to another hotel because of the amount of rooms needed for the riders and staff of the GP. Is the rail station at Warsaw airport or do we need to travel between the airport and the rail station. Thanks
  19. How about Hull 40 Cradley 38 The first heat was Ivan Mauger Dennis Sigalos v Bruce Penhall Bobby Schwartz. I'm sure in the program they had writen about Mauger and Sigalos scoring so many five one victories and it being a record. Penhall and Schwartz five one'd them. The meeting was touch and go for either side to win. Erike Gundersen crashed heavily in one race but luckily walked away. Maybe someone has the program it was a brilliant match.
  20. I think there was a guy named Errol Brook at Cradley he would fly from the start but got cheered if he got around the first bend safely. He was a real trier and i don't mean to disrespect him.
