Has anyone used the VIP seats in the past, just wondered what the catering was all about. Does it have a bar and cafe. I would prefer to go on the back straight but my wife is still recovering from a knee replacement and needs to be able to sit down most of the time. And will there be a furum meet up.

Maybe this is not the case but im sure that in the seventies the BBC wanted to use speedway as a replacement for cricket. But because of the lack of interest shown by the BBC in the past the BSPA told them no way. And so darts and snooker stepped in to fill the gap. I wonder if things would have been different if speedway had replaced cricket. Looking at cricket they changed their ways to attract the fans back and it seems to have worked. So why can't speedway change when it needs to.

grands prix series 2005...
sjw ministerofport replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think the new system will give more excitment than the one used over the last few years. I would like to see your selected winner triumph Mr BilaHora but doubt it. I think that Tony will probably win as he seems to be able to work out whats needed to come out on top usually. How ever saying that last year he did seem to slip on more occasions than normal. Jason will retain his crown. If there was a return to the old one off Championship im sure anyone of the GP stadiums would be filled. I remember the crowds at Wembley. I would not want to go back to the one off finals as i enjoy following the GPs. -
Thanks Rico can't wait for April.

Hi Rico could you tell me which is the best area to get crowd involvement and good viewing please.

Wroclaw GP
sjw ministerofport replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
thanks for the info pugwash. We are travelling on 27/4 from Stansted and returning on the 1/5 the flight cost us £45 each thanks to Ricos helpfull info. Do you know whether the stadium is far from the city centre, the reason i ask is because my wife has had a knee replacement and distance at the moment counts in our plans. We will look at the art hotel pricing and availability and may book there, being a sea going man by your signature i'm guessing i will buy you a rum for your help. -
Have booked our flight to Wroclaw, and after the help of forum members making our first visit to Poland last year very easy, i just wondered which was the best place to stay in the city. Thanks already for the help with the cheap flight info.

Don't forget Soren Sjosten his style was unique. Another rider who had a great style was Tobejorn Harrison i doubt whether i have spelt his name right please forgive me.

I dont think it was really any better than before except for the standard of presentation, however the track preperation for the second part of the series seemed below its best. Cardiff for me was the best yet and i have been to all of them so far. Dave Norris for me was a suprise, i hope that he will be able to get a full time place in 2006. Hans Anderssen has to the most improved over all. I just hope 2005 with the new format gets even better and that the track preperation does not let the series down in the future.

Wow i envy you Steve, on,ly went to Bydgoszcz last year and that was to die for. This year we hope to do three besides Cardif. Last year we recieved much help from the forum members and it made the trip easy. Welcome to the forum -
There have been lucky World champions and there have been riders who should have been World champions and then there are the elite of World champions, three of these are Ivan, Tony and Ove they are the ones who have set an almost super human standard for others to follow. That makes us so lucky to have witnessed their achievments and for me it does not matter really whether Tony goes on to beat Ivans record. Having said that Ivan will always remain the best for me because he was my favorite. And for those who said he was a cheat at the start, he was doing what all the other riders of the time were doing only because he was Ivan he was doing it better. And as for passing how can you use that as a critism he was usually at the front.

I agree with what you said about the Nicki Pedersen incident SCB but in the same meeting a few races earlier Tony Rickardsen was bought down even further along the straight, and all four riders were put back in the race. I don't think that Tony was to blame but how could it be clased as first bend bunching.

Why not get rid of the rider replacement and guest rider facility all together. Just an idea each EL team has to sign a Conference rider and a lower order Premier rider as members of their team ie(8-9). In the event of one of the team members getting injured, If the rider was either one three or five the team manager could move the rest of the team around to cover and the place left could be filled by one of the team reserves. The reserves spot could then be filled by the Conference rider and the reserves average awarded to the Conference rider. If the rider scored more points than the award then the award would be deducted. If they used the Premier rider he would recieve half of the average and have it deducted if he scored more points. All the riders should be Brits, this would give us a chance of bringing on riders for the future. Both riders should be in the pits and their team mates should teach them the finer arts of being a rider. I know this may sound crazy but whats more crazy than golden doubles.
