World Title Pretenders
sjw ministerofport replied to philcrumpisgod's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The way that Jason is riding he seems in control, but very much on the edge. Good luck to him, he deserves more titles. One thing I have learned over the years, is nothing is sure in Speedway, and one of the other riders in the GP's could find the extra step needed to take the series in the near future. -
Bydgoszcz Gp Tickets
sjw ministerofport replied to GARY POPPS's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thanks for the link to order tickets. Again I owe you Rico, and will buy you a beer at the City or the Pod. -
Dan the man I thought the kisses were for me. As for Sophie, her smile sets her apart from most, and she is so nice to talk to.

Prague Gp Seating Plan
sjw ministerofport replied to vectra200's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Last year they rushed the GP because of the threat of rain. We sat in seats by the entry to the first bend and I thought the racing was brilliant. Have a great time Keith. -
Well I for one don't want to lose Wroclaw, it's easy to get to and the City is great, think again BSI please.

Cardiff Thoughts
sjw ministerofport replied to KrisB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Loved it as usual, I enjoyed the whole trip, meeting friends, great weather, nice beer. Bumped into Ricco, my first meeting with a forum member. Only down side for me was being classed as a racist, because wrongly some young Welshman thought I had taken his turn in the Prince of Wales at the bar. The best pairs at Swindon was also great to go to see. And as for the comments about Jason Crump he may get a little upset, but he is always polite. -
Get Some Practice In....
sjw ministerofport replied to Jim Sharman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You have a point Barrow Boy, there is so much noise, and so much to see it is just being there that makes Cardiff so special. -
Cardiff Attendance
sjw ministerofport replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What you say is probably correct Hazzman. Last Year we went to Wroclaw, and Prague both looked almost full to me. The year before Bydgoszcz was full. As for Cardiff the noise is enough with 40 thousand, I would use ear plugs if there were more than that. -

I just wish they would have a reasonable rock band playing, but who ever they put on won't spoil my night. -

Cardiff Attendance
sjw ministerofport replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wow! Hazzman, thanks for the figures. I am suprized by the over all attendence, I would have thought some of the GP's were close to being sell out's. -
Cardiff Attendance
sjw ministerofport replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hazzman, I think you are right about needing a Brit winner to swell the crowd, but I think because the series is spread over ten rounds it will always difficult to fill the stadium. But what I would like to see are the numbers that attend the whole of the GP series, and also an estimate on the amount of TV viewers around the world. I was told that SKy figures are booming, and that only football has bigger numbers watching on TV. -
Cardiff Tickets
sjw ministerofport replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would consider any reasonable offer for the tickets. -
No matter what happens at Cardiff, or the following GP's, Tony is a great World Champion. One thing is for sure, if he regains his crown this year, who ever wins next year will be classed as a second rate champion buy some. A World Champion is a World Champion, and at the end of the series they deserve our support. Jason, Nicki, Greg and Tomasz deserve their places at the moment I just hope that they all put as much effort into Cardiff as they have done so far. But I still want a Brit winner more than anything else.

I have four £50 middle tier tickets for sale due to illness. Anyone interested. block M35 row three.

Well Done Jason!
sjw ministerofport replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The best four riders were in the final, hope the Jason knockers admit he is best at the moment. Don't rule out Nicki yet he is very close, bad luck Greg. Please, please, please, BSI get the tracks sorted out. When you go to the GP's the atmosphere is worth the money, but you need better racing to take it up a level. -
Team Gb
sjw ministerofport replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who ever is picked I will be cheering, if they give 100% on the track I will be behind them 100%. -
Mr Clemens, thanks for your views on Wroclaw. My wife and I love the city, especially the main square. The Polish people are so good, we feel at home there, and safe. Maybe the racing is not quite as good as Bydgoszcz, but we would not miss our visit for anything now.

Cardiff 2007/8/9/10/11
sjw ministerofport replied to T.N.T.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thanks TNT133, the racing may not be the best but the week end is so special -
Sorry we missed the meet up at Wroclaw, and especially as I missed Rico. My offer of a pint still counts mate when our paths cross. The people we did bump into made our trip that bit more special. I have to admit to having had a Lech flu on Friday, red wine seems to be the perfect cure. The racing was not maybe the best but the occasion made up for that. I reckon that Jason deserved to win, and Nicki is some tough guy. Just thinking of Cardiff for a moment, will Jason manage to get over last years debacle, will Nicki be recovered from his wrist problems, will Trick blast back, and manage to cut the lead, or will there be another winner?

Hope you all have a safe journey, we are going in the morning.

Handy Hints For Cardiff
sjw ministerofport replied to shielfield's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Luckily we have been to all the Cardiff GP's and it seems to get better every year. Bring on the day, bring on the sun, bring on the speedway. -
We loved the GP last year at Wroclaw, and the city. All I would ask is if Ole Olsen reads this thread, please could you give us a surface like the last GP at Krisko. That is what the fans want to see, tracks with more than just the dirt line to race on.
-
Hi Rico, we are not sure yet about the meet up at the Irish bar, how ever, we would like to go to Ostrow probably. Would it be possible to put the travel details on the forum for us please. Mal and I are going to be at the Radisson from Wednesday afternoon, would like to buy you a pint for your help.

Slovenian Gp
sjw ministerofport replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I know it's been a few days ago now but I hope the rest of the GP's are as good as that one. At first I thought it was going to be boring, just look what happened. It took me back to the years when I never heard of the dirt line. Who ever didn't follow Olsen's orders for the watering of the track deserves a medal. I just hope Wroclaw is prepaired for great racing. As for the final, it was for me a classic. Nicki and Jason deserve a pat on the back each.
