  1. If i were a Lions fan i think i would be on the side of continuing with r/r as it has worked so well.
  2. Only a few we deserved to lose team not as good as some think.
  3. Im sure i will like it speaking to our fans that have been, all give great feedback.
  4. Im hoping to make this my first visit to this track but its depending on the Oxford side if not this one will definately do the next against Edinburgh and looking at it i think that might be the better meeting anyway, no doubt the Monarchs will be well suported so a good atmosphere.
  5. Exactly my point about non existent team riding nowadays a lost skill.
  6. Team riding always shows great racing when theres no passing, a different type of skill sadly rare these days in comparison to what it used to be.
  7. Some Ipswich fans were definite in predicting they would have won the title last season without the injuries, as i always said nothing in sport is nailed on, bit like calling this seasons title the vulture cup as Woffy would have given Sheffield the scoring power at home to beat any other side over 2 legs 😉
  8. Great idea a couple of guests😁 in from Liverpool and Arsenal
  9. Maybe the FA could adopt it? Add a bit of spice to the coin toss for ends 😀
  10. Really good meeting, great fight back but Blodorn and the reserves will see us exit the play offs at the semi final stage whoever we get, no sign of the massive home advantage 😉
  11. No not really when something actually depends on the result, top four has been known from the start.
  12. Id be surprised if many turn up tbh, its generally very quiet around town with families going away, what with the weather it always puts some off and being on tv.
  13. Congratulations to the Lions a well deserved victory. Last season they just went off the boil at the wrong time, if they take this form into the play offs the double is definately on they have been easily the form team. R/R has covered for Becker really well, what are Lions fans thoughts on him making a comeback for the business end of the season? Would you take the chance on him coming back strongly or prefer continuing with r/r as its working so well? I personally think he would only come back if he could pick up where he left off.
  14. I was brought up on speedway at Hyde Road, then we had Kirky Lane, now the NSS, ive seen good meetings and bad at all three, i remember Kings Lynn and Cradley producing great racing along with smaller tracks like Wimbledon, Newport (Somerton Park), Monmore Green and even Crayford, there was no bickering about racing on different tracks then, obviously pre internet, i think a contributing factor today are the modern machines are more geared for the bigger faster tracks, no doubt if Mondays meeting doesnt produce good racing people will be critical of that sometimes you cant win too much racing or not enough, either way i dont think the skill of the riders can be questioned.
  15. Strange how some complain theres a lot of passing then complain if the meeting isnt up to normal standards. I think fans of the technical (sorry trick) tracks in a lot of cases are just trying to justify their own tracks shortcomings for good racing. A racetrack isnt a racetrack if the only passing you get is when the rider in front makes a mistake otherwise its sit on the white line and job done. Some must have thought Birmingham last night was a great meeting, Hyde Road, NSS, or Kirky Lane no brainer isnt it?
  16. Hi any recomendations of best place to park for this one please, not been to Birmingham for a while i remember parking could be an issue, thanks.
  17. This is an interesting match up with Lions the form team at the moment, i cant really see past them over the two legs but KL are capable of getting a first leg lead that is defendable but how will they go at Leicester? Good luck to both teams.
  18. I suppose you could the same for all promoters as speedway today is a failing business model, i wonder how much Tolley lost investing in Birmingham? Whatever they come up with next season will be interesting as i can still see self interest prevailing.
  19. With Douglas and Howarth both on it we would have been in more trouble, im sure you would be happy with this score in a play off semi.
  20. Leicester are a good side and kept it close with Douglas and Howarth having below par nights, could even throw Masters in there as hes had good meetings round here, Lions are a problem for any side.
