  1. I thought twice about going as these baking hot midday meetings dont tend to produce good racing, decided to go so hope it bucks the trend. Looking at the Aces line up Sheffield should be winning this, we struggle at Owlerton with Dan the evening meeting should be a formality for the Tigers.
  2. I think you are right, cant see a good crowd Monday without Dan and especially now as well as Kildemand, Blodorn is also going to be missing apparently, even with our big two we were vulnerable away from home, some big points to make up at home too.
  3. Remember when league clubs held their world championship qualifier, then the British Final that was a world class line up to what we have today and a lot resting on it. I remember a few great qualifying rounds European final at Wembley, Overseas at White City, some great Nordic finals. Its a shame Dan and Freddie are injured can Brady keep that same level of consistency to make the GP interesting, can Lambert and Holder finally deliver?
  4. Probably, ive gone off the GP tbh too predictable and when a rider can score 8/9 points win the lcq and end up with 20 points 4 more than the actual top scorer of the meeting its a joke. Also half the field automatically qualify, i understand the arguments about GP v the one offs but the route to qualify for the one off was open to every rider, some great meetings along the way too, British final, European, Nordic, Commonwealth, the jeopardy of the one off made the night special. Only my view and i understand im probably in the minority. I dont think BZ needs to get any extra laps around the NSS its the type of track he rides every week in Poland, replacing Dan is nigh on impossible.
  5. You could be right, whoever comes in will not replace Dan, we were reliant on our top two.
  6. Gutted for Dan he had really stepped up this season and this is so cruel after such an impressive start to the season, irreplaceable, most important thing is to regain full fitness. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  7. RIP Bob and condolences to the family
  8. It was a pleasure to support him for you, great fight 😉
  9. Another typical Foxhall performance from us i fear.
  10. I remember Peter Collins not turning up at Newport for a league meeting as Somerton Park was notorious for being rough, a breakdown was the reason given but later he admitted it was because of the track. We lost i think 45-33 or similar top scorers Phil Crump and Alan Wilkinson two riders who would ride anything. I remember Ivan Mauger replying when asked whats your favourite type of track " i have no favourites they all have to be ridden" spot on that.
  11. I said this wouldnt be a walk in the park when people were talking about 60-30.
  12. And its not exactly a Champions league as 2nd to 5th in the league table qualify for it.
  13. I think this should be a home win, but predictions of 60-30 hmm not sure about that, Ipswich are a team that has a solid look about it as they showed against Kings Lynn, our top two are a level above but i think if Witches are on it they can trouble our middle order/reserves. Look to pack the minor placings against Dan and Brady and who knows?
  14. I think despite what fans say he will be his own biggest critic.
  15. Have to agree, when i was down in Cornwall many businesses didnt accept cash, when i encountered one i just cancelled the order and walked out, i always to prefer paying cash, use it or lose it.
  16. I anticipated queues on the south stand so bought my ticket at the main box office which was very quick, i was surprised when i saw the actual size of the queue for the south stand.
  17. I think the rules governing concussion are not as strict in Europe as they are in the UK so Blodorn could ride over there but not in the UK. The rule for concussion should be standard throughout in world sport.
  18. Agree but if Northampton flops it could have the opposite effect on those groups trying to bring tracks back, it really needs to succeed to benefit the sport overall.
  19. I dont disagree with you i was reacting to a generalization not you directly
  20. Whoever wins the "league" there is no kudos to it is there? I think attendences are going to be woeful after this close season, its difficult to see how the sport recovers from this now.
