  1. my theory with richard over the years is that he wouldnt get paid for a p&p and would lose a days work (believe hes a plasterer) not saying its right/acceptable at all as they should all be there as ive said the rumour was that he and jan were both in poland which begs the question why p&p was friday not ideal but at least they were at oxford yesterday which is far more important and wasnt the case last year (not just lynn either)
  2. IF the racing is as good as it can be at bv then i think how good cardiff was as a weekend will be forgotten at the end of the day the track action is what it is and should all be about that is what will leave memories and a legacy
  3. a prime example that you just cant please everybody personally i think it makes a lot of sense to hold it early when everybody will (should) be there
  4. i suspect there will be healthy crowds but those ticket prices arent good and will price an awful lot of people out unfortunately
  5. they have a month until their first fixture so they have time to sort the situation one way or the other but yes a brief statement wouldnt hurt
  6. if we are talking about sunday his machine sounded awful in his first two rides and he clearly had it sorted by his last outing not saying he isnt lacking confidence but that wasnt the main issue sunday imo not sure the type of track really matters if he can gate consistently on a given night at any track he will score well as when he gets fresh air he is seriously rapid being in traffic seems to be his weakness but there is plenty to work with and he is young enough to sort that out with the right guidance
  7. yep they have clearly marked cash only, cash & card and card only hatches the fact that the programmes sold out so early says everything
  8. could you elaborate at all all four payment hatches were open at the box office other than offer advance ticket sales i dont see what more could be done its the same argument as getting away from the stadium afterwards down one road, the sheer number of people means it will take longer there were probably twice as many people there yesterday as for a stars meeting
  9. pretty sure they did in 2021 post covid but then dropped it presumably not enough folk used it to make it worthwhile
  10. was gonna say the same if being there a long time is an issue then why arrive at a meeting with 21 races 90 mins before the advertised start time they perhaps could have offered online tickets in advance to ease the queues but there were probably around 3k people there and that ought to be celebrated rather than moaned about imo
  11. once the racing began the 21 heats were completed in a touch over two hours which i think is about right personally i use the breaks between races to socialise with people i havent seen all winter rather than worry about what tractors are or arent doing but each to their own
  12. british speedway has long been a numbers game and unfortunately there will always be those who miss out i do agree that foreign riders on similar averages should be refused a wp if brits arent fixed up and havent turned anything down but the liklihood is they will get a gig once the season gets going and injuries bite
  13. quite nice for there to be some discussion the forum has been dead for ages
  14. one thing which is predictable is acebelle laughing at a sensible post which doesnt favour his team #whoknew
  15. depends if there is a standout candidate they really want
  16. which puts whoever they are after in a strong bargaining position i expect there is brinkmanship going on behind the scenes
  17. the compost corner/foxhole derbies feel particularly mouth watering this year
  18. you just knew it would be acebelle laughing at this
