  1. Reading all the posting concerning the Glasgow team and lack of atmosphere at Ashfield is very sad. I was up in Berwick and Scotland over the weekend and attended all 3 of the Somerset Rebels meetings. The issue i see is that at Ashfield the facilities are very basic in a badly run down stadium that i believe has suffered several break ins and arson damage over the past few seasons. The promoters are not getting enough fans to attend due to several reasons. Firstly the adverse weather conditions over the season culminatong in meetings being called off, also a team that has miss fired more often then not adding to the fact that there is only a hardcore fan base. I read a few weeks ago in the Speedway-Star that James Grieves stated that when Glasgow left Shawfield they lost a lot of fans in the process. Would Glasgow be better supported if the sport returned to Shawfield Stadium? On a last note i enjoyed the meeting at Ashfield plenty of entertainment and some good close racing.
  2. Will be coming up to Sheffield today and fingers crossed that the meeting can escape the inclement weather today. Should be a good meeting i always enjoy my visits to Owlerton Stadium. Any Sheffield Forum Members please com and say hi. With my Pirates wulf jacket on i will be easy to spot. Good luck to both teams tonight.
  3. Wil be staying up in Berwick on Friday and Saturday and very much looking forward to the meeting. Any Bandits forum members come and say hi. Good luck to both teams.
  4. Will be making my annual trip north this weekend and hope weather permitting to be at Armadale,Shielfied Park and Ashfield over the weekend. Good luck to both teams on Friday. Any forum members do come and say hi on Friday i wil have my Poole wulf jacket on so will stick out like a sore thumb.
  5. Made my first visit ot Central-Park on Monday to see the action. very impressed with the stadium and facillities but i thought the track was under watered too slick and did not create good racing. Witht the rider replacement in operation this had too-many delays which as already mentioned led to the meeting over running and ended farcically with heat 15 not being staged. Central Park should be staging Elite-League racing or at the very least premier league.
  6. Will be attending this meeting weather permitting on Thursday having not been to the STMP for 3 years. Looking forward to seeing Micky Dyer in action for the Bears having signed him as a double upper for the Pirates. Not sure of the line ups of both teams. Lets hope the weather does'nt spoil what could be agreat night os speedway. Thoughts?
  7. Hi mate sorry to hear about the motor, keep the chin up. Come on the PIRATES

  8. Hi Trees, come and say hello to us, i sit with a certain Mr Shovlar second row to the left of the start line in the stand

  9. Looking forward to the annual trip to Cardiff and will heve a certain Mr Shovlar in tow. will be going to the P.O.W and probably the Gatekeeper as per usual so come and say hello will probably be wearing our Poole jackets so expect the usual abuse but save it for Steve and not me, after all he is the pantomime villian.
  10. Well after driving through some heavy downpours on route to Devon not to mention the traffic i arrived at the ST-Bonaface Arena to a glorious sunny evening perfect for speedway. The racing from heat 1 through to heat 15 was brilliant with both sides giving everyting only slight criticism was the dust coming up i think the track could have been watered more. Bournemouth's downfall was through not being able to match the excellant Nicki-Glanz and Seemond-Stephens who were gating well but were also using thier track craft to come from the back. Also Jamie-Pickard abd Matt-Bates were on good form. Dissapointing for the Bucks as a last heat 5-1 would have earnt them a draw.
  11. Cant see a thread for this meeting so here goes. The Buccaneers travel to the ST Bonnaface Arena tommorow with thier new look line-up hoping to pick up points against the Devils. This will be my first trip to Plymouth sice 2006 and iam looking forward to seeing how the facilities have improved and the race strip also What are your thoughts on this meeting?

  20. firstly, hello to all the fans who post on this forum, as a new member this is my first posting and i am just getting use to the the system What is the general opinion of last nights Grand-Prix?. I thought the racing was good concidering it was a temporary surface however, what about the problems with the starting gate where it appeared that the inside was slower to rise giving an advantage to the riders on gates 3 and 4. Did all the riders know about this ? as it appeared that some were looking to the outside magnets while others wer still looking at the inside. Anyway good luck to Ryan this Wednesday.
