This coming Wednesday the Pirates take on the Comets for league points in the championship. After a disappointing display at the Gt Tyres arena and suffering a 12 point defeat they will be looking for revenge. Will the Comets be able to hold on to their advantage or will the Pirates hit them hard from the off. I expect Poole to come out all guns blazing and be looking to stop Workington from getting any further ahead. Thoughts?

Poole vs Edinburgh 16/7/25
Shaleshifter replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unfortunately, I will be missing tonight's meeting due to beimg away on holiday. Pirates need to be on it tonight from heat 1. The Monarchs have got a decent side and although Viktor Pallovaara hasn't ridden Wimborne Road before he can gate. Justin Sedgman and Kye Thomson have had good meetings at Poole add in Michael Pam Toft then it could be a difficult night for the Pirates. The reseves are where meetings can be won or lost and the Monarchs have Jonatan Grahn who has been scoring well and young ausie Jordy Loftus . They haven't ridden Wimborne Road before so will be interesting to see how they perform. This puts some pressure on Paul Starke and Will Cairns to bounce back from a poor night at Workington. Thoughts? -

Well done to the Comets, thoroughly deserved. A bad day at the office for the Pirates but that's speedway. Expect a backlash when the Comets arrive at Wimborne Road in two weeks. -
Poole vs Glasgow 2/7/25
Shaleshifter replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looking forward to tomorrow evenings meeting and see how Will Cairns does on his debut, and Rocket Man's clashes with Bomber and Dan Thompson. Sticking my neck out Pirates to take this and pick up the points. -
This coming Wednesday the Pirates take on the Bandits looking to gain revenge after the defeat at Shielfield Park back in May. With ex Pirates Danyon Hume and Sam Hagon returning to Wimborne Road along with the likes of Craig Cook and Peter Kildermand should be a good meeting. Sam Hagon was a match winner for the Bandits when the teams met at Shielfield ,will he be on form or will Poole keep him in check. I feel that we should be more than capable of getting a result but will need to be carrying on the form from last weeks win over the Bears.

After the surprising, but brilliant win at Glasgow on Friday this Wednesday the Redcar Bears arrive at Wimborne Road. Over the last 2 seasons this has been a tough encounter with not much between the teams at the end of 15 heats. Charles Wright, Eric Riss and Jason Edwards who all have had good meetings at Poole and then add in ex Pirate Danny King it could be a close encounter. Where I think Poole are stronger is at no2, Tobias against Jake-Mullford and I believe that we may have a slight advantage at reserve. Will depend on what Jody Scott scores don't think Ace Pijper will do much. The reserves could be the key. Thoughts?

Firstly, I am surprised that no Tigers fans have started a thred for this meeting. This is the first of two back to back meetings for the Pirates on their northern tour. I did both meetings last year and was lucky enough to see two victory's. Glasgow are riding high after Wednesdays win at Oxford and will be confident of continuing thier winning ways. I hope that Poole can put up a fight and keep it close but, we are not as strong as last season. Thoughts?

After Good-Fridays washout against Oxford, the arrival of Plymouth becomes the first meeting of the season. The Gladiators arrive at Wimborne Road in the Bsn series with several new faces in thier line-up including Nicolai Klindt, Lasse Fredriksen and Mitchel Cluff. Having lost at home to Oxford in the Bsn they could well be fired up to do well. Poole will do well not to underestimate them but I expect us to to overcome the challenge. Thoughts?

Vinnie Foord - is he too dangerous?

I'm sorry but your post is ridiculous to say the least. Concentrate on your own club a little more than posting on threads with the Pirates . -
Vinnie Foord - is he too dangerous?
Shaleshifter replied to BackInTheDHSS's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Give it a rest. Every post you put up on the forum recently is eithet anti Poole or slagging off Vinnie Foord. There are people posting on here that need to get a life. -
Don't need to watch it. Killen was not taken out by Foord. Scott Nicholls was rolling at the start so it was called back. Ben Cook did not take out Ashton Boughen. Your post is complete nonsense apart from the Vinnie Foord and Jody Scott incident which Vinnie was at fault. Plus your stupid comment saying the ref was a homer. It's Poole not Poodle.

Commiserations to the Comets. They have been a credit to the sport this season. Injuries certainly haven't helped them especially losing Tate early on in the year. I hope to see us lock horns next season and I definitely will be Coming up to the Gt Tyres arena at Northside next season. Well done to the Pirates.

The play-offs for the Championship start this coming Wednesday when the Pirates take on the Comets for a place in the final. The other semi final on the sane evening sees the Oxford Cheetahs take on the Scunthorpe Scorpions . The Pirates have had the upper hand in all but one encounter with the Comets this season but that counts for nothing in the play-offs. Workington will require 3 guests to cover for their injured riders over both meetings and Poole will need a guest at reserve and possible rider replacement if not fit for Sam Hagon. Hope to get a good lead to take up to Northside next Saturday. Thoughts?

After last weeks disappointing but not unexpected defeat in the league to Oxford the Pirates are back in action this coming Wednesday against the Comets in the Bsn. Last time the Comets visited in the league they were crushed 61-29. Not expecting the same result this time around and at this present time I don't know the 1-7 of the Comets. Poole need to bounce back from the two defeats in the league and set about building a good lead to take up to Northside next weekend. Thoughts?
