  1. Thanks Cerro I would like to say what a credit not only to Glasgow Speedway but to the sport the Tigers fan are.
  2. Ha ha Mr I have a Grudge against Poole and anything connected to Poole Speedway. Coventry Bees fan aren't you. Anyway if we loose then so be it but if we do come out on top I can't wait for your reaction.
  3. Nice to meet up last night Tyretrax and other forum members. Great meeting with both teams giving it 100%. Well done to the Tigers on the night but its not over just yet.
  4. Hi Andy where are you in the city centre? Steve and I are in the St Enoch Shopping centre upstairs by KFC
  5. Thanks for that Scotchopper. Steve and I would have come and said hello if we had known who you were. Thanks for the kind words. At least you were gracious in defeat and an honest assessment of the two legs overall. It's a pity that a certain Mr Jan Andersen couldn't bring himself to be more pleasant. Hope to get up to Armadsle next season as Steve and I were on the Northern tour in the summer when we had that horrendous weather. See you hopefully next season.
  6. You really have a problem with your anti Poole stance in your posts. I don't recall you being gracious in defeat either after the Cup final. Each to their own.
  7. Looking forward to trip up to Glasgow on Tuesday. Not an ideal time to travel with the Cop26 climate change conference taking place in the city or the cold weather that November brings but that's the way it is. I have visited the city on several occasion's normally in the summer months and have been to Ashfield many times and enjoyed the racing and chatting with the Glasgow fans. To set the record straight not all Poole fans are arrogant or self righteous as I think some on this forum believe. Steve likes a bit of banter but he isn't vindictive. We both are flying up on Tuesday and would be great to meet up with Glasgow fans before the meeting. See you all on Tuesday Let the battle for the title commence.
  8. Really what a childish post. Pathetic and unjust and typical of some on this forum.
  9. What's your problem you are out of the playoffs so on comes the Poole haters. Stupid childish post and don't think next year Poole will ride as badly at the EWR. Chill out.
  10. That's our Neil getting carried away again. The majority of Pirate's fans are more pragmatic. We know it will be a tough two legged affair which could go either way. Good luck to you but of course I am hoping it's Poole who prevail.
  11. Regardless of who the guest is, it's what happens on the night. As I stated when starting this thread ideally we would be racing the first leg away, but because of rain-offs and other issues this is where we are. Poole and Leicester are both great sides so it could go either way. Let's hope the wheel of fortune is withe the Pirates Bring it on.
  12. Whoops well spotted Skidder. I have amended the title of the thread.. You are also right of course regarding the program.
  13. Right then. Poole have chosen to take on Leicester Lions in the playoffs even though the quarter finals are yet to be raced. Hmm. Speedway can really be farcical when situations like this arise. Let's look at various Senarious. 1. Scunthorpe sensationally pull back the huge deficit and progress. Not likely but ? 2. The meeting is called off again due to the weather or no Ambulance cover? 3. Meeting abandoned due to rider's crashing out and withdrawing from the meeting. This of course is all hypothetical but again? Anyway if it is to be the Lions then so be it but they will be a tough nut to crack. Poole having to stage their leg first isn't ideal but that's the way it's shaping up unless there is another twist to this drama. Thoughts.
  14. Sounds a sensible plan to me. It's just frustrating that we have to stage our home semi final leg first particularly as we finished top and have a choice.
  15. Who knows, fortunes can ebb and flow during a meeting. Leicester could come flying out of the traps or they could have their minds on the quarter finals against Scunthorpe.
  16. The Pirates return to action on Wednesday in the K.o.c after securing top spot in the league after last weeks victory against the Redcar Bears. Leicester have a 8 point league from the fist leg up at Beaumont Leys and we will need to hit them hard from the start to unsettle them and bring the tie level. Leicester have a top 4 that are strong home and away and if they all click then it will be a tough night. Since Stefan Nielsens injury, we have struggled at reserve having to use a guest each meeting and this has put pressure on young Danyon Hume to deliver the points. Fingers crossed the weather forecast doesn't change for Wednesday as this look's like the best day of the week Thoughts?
  17. Yes they could Lisa, but that would mean The Pirates being totally off the pace tonight. Let's all be positive.
  18. On Wednesday the Pirates welcome the Redcar Bears to Wimborne Road for a first vs 2nd in the league. The Bears have strengthn'd up by signing Lewis kerr and have quite a strong looking top three that includes Charles Wright and Michael-Palm-Toff. Add in Jake Allen as a second string then they do pose a threat. Their only weakness appears to be at reserve and James Sargeant who rides at No 2 in the team Poole will need to at their best to see off the Bears. They will be tough to beat but I would like to think that being at home we should have enough fire power to win. Thoughts?
  19. Hi Lisa, I am led to believe that Poole wanted the meeting called off at Scunthorpe on Friday. I don't know if was true or not. There was a heavy downpour of rain around 6pm and that lasted about 30 minutes. This left the track very heavy and I don't think Poole wanted to race on it.
