Best Places To Meet Up In Cardiff ?

Definitely the Prince of Wales. That's usually heaving with forumites as well as other fans from all over. Starting to wish I was still going now... Ho hum. -
Grand Prix Millenium Stadium June 30th 2007
rabbit replied to ghostie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
SCB has it spot on...the middle tier is always pretty popular but I reckon you'd be quite a few rows back if you booked now. Top tier is always emptier but you are a bit further away...not much though. As for atmosphere...don't worry, you'll be totally immersed in it wherever you are! Best thing to do is try the Seetickets site, stick in a few prices etc and see what seats it chucks back at you. Go by their seat plan and see if you like what you're offered. -
No you carry on mate, I'm amazed you can find so much to comment on that's all - it's been so dead for news over Christmas.

Reckon they're both going for SCB's record.

Flippin' heck Spin King - you on a mission today or what, seems every other post I'm reading is one of yours. Do you realise you've single-handedly made over 20% of the postings on this forum in the last 24 hours. That's going some!

Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well if it's the one in Cardiff Bay, take an extra pillow with you. Having just stayed there last night, their beds are shocking. It's like lying in a giant marshmallow and you feel like your feet are higher than your head. I'd have slept better on the floor! -
Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But my whole point was that it has been increasingly expensive for doing the same thing as we did in previous years and I refuse to justify the amount of money now required for the actual experience. It's nothing to do with being able to afford it, money isn't a problem, more a case of knowing when you're being ripped off. Sure I could go for cheap seats, bust a gut going up and back on the same day or staying in a cheap hotel, but why should I when the same weekend with the same seats and the same hotel cost over 1/3 less 2 years ago. All I and others are moaning about is the rip-off culture that seems to pervade his country. -
Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ahem! I don't do cheap n cheerful. If I'm going to do a trip I'll do it properly and not rush knackering myself out in the process or end up in a dodgy/noisy hotel room just for the sake of going. GPs aren't that big a deal! Nope seriously watching it on TV with a curry and a few glasses of red wine will suit me just fine. I've been every year since Cardiff started so I think I've been loyal enough. -

Thanks for the thought Diamond@heart, but I won't need that now as someone has confirmed that they want the tickets. Hope they enjoy the seats as much as we have the last couple of years. -
They can do Thursdays if they want...but we're Wednesdays and not moving.

Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thanks Jo, but honest, it's not a money issue this time (although admittedly with the cost of my main holiday the extra money now that we can't do Cardiff will come in handy for spending!) - it's just the GP date has turned out to clash with something else. I'm sure I'll see all my forum friends at other places round the country through the year...starting with Brighton next month thanks to BobC. Thanks but no interest so far... -

With the size of my mortgage and car loan - I wish! I was talking generally about the cost of the weekend and it being one of the reasons why 2007 was likely to be our last year attending the GP. However, my reason for selling these tickets is nothing to do with affordability - just timing. -

Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I meant the weekend as a whole...by the time you add up the cost of petrol (£60+) to get there, hotel (£240 for 2 nights in a hotel where it usually costs £50 a night any other time!), GP tickets (£120), food, drink and other spending (for example Newport Speedway on the Friday night), it's close to £500. Sure I could drive up and back on the day, but that's not my idea of fun having done that the first year...plus I'd be the one who'd end up having to be behind the wheel! -
Sounds about right. When we went I think we doubled the crowd. When it started raining everyone took cover in the pits...and I mean everyone - riders, fans and officials. Think Wizzer might also have ridden for them at some point? There were a couple of Finns riding on the day who made it to one of their SWC teams too. Great set up though... purpose built track in the middle of a wooded hillside area. All smart and well kept with purpose built pits and small cafe with the refs box on top - looked like a huge log cabin from memory . There was a moto-x track going up the side of the hill in and out of the trees - inbetween races we just watched the competitors who were hacking around that track.

Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale

Haha - don't think BSI would ever get that desperate! Shazz - they are my tickets I'm afraid. This was always going to be our last Cardiff anyway, the cost of the weekend is getting too much to justify going forward tbh - for the cost of Cardiff I could book a week away in the Med or similar and that's crazy. I'll be there in spirit anyway! -
Sweden already have at least one Norwegian team in one of their lower leagues. I went to one of the meetings when the GP was at Hamar a few years back.

Cardiff Gp 2007 Tickets For Sale

Due to unforeseen circumstances I have 2 booked Cardiff GP 2007 tickets for sale. These are front row seats in Block 32 which is a great view coming off the 2nd bend - the booking is confirmed with Seetickets. They cost £60 each but I'm willing to accept £40 each for them. The tickets obviously won't turn up until closer to the event but if anyone is interested then I'd be more than willing to make contact closer to the time for payment and then send them on as soon as I get them delivered. If anyone is interested please either post here or send me a PM. -
I'd agree that he's not ready yet but never? Think that's a bit unfair. He is definitely improving and if he makes as big strides in 2007 as he seems to have done this year I can see him knocking on BSI's door for the 2008 series. I'd like to see him as the wildcard at Cardiff for sure.

Did Jonas D swim over to the States...seeing as our last meeting was 48 hours ago you'd have thought he might have made a few meetings for his UK club almost a week back!

Gp And Swc 2007 Calendars

Whilst I'd agree with you in principle Pollyanna, Eastbourne this season had a very nice agreement with Mark Loram who guested for them on virtually every GP weekend that Nicki was missing. I'm sure that they would rather have had NP but in the circumstances they probably considered Mark as a home team rider rather than a guest. -

Yeah thanks Iris, I had noticed. Although I don't think he'd dare ride after the stick he took after appearing in Tony's meeting.
