  1. Well I enjoyed it Thanks Sandie for the singalong - don't give up the day job though
  2. I was almost right...second person I saw was Shazz, holding court outside the pits gate
  3. Some guy on the coach reckoned he had £200 on Bomber at 40-1 and thought he'd made a nice profit of £800. I didn't like to tell him...still, that's a nice surprise he'll get anyway
  4. I think definitely. Great atmosphere, great raing and great company to quote BobC on the other thread. And a British winner to boot - it doesn't come much better than that. And yes, got totally drenched too going back to the coach. Sat in cold, soggy clothes for 3 hours and then got soaked again waiting for a taxi. Great fun
  5. With assistance from FTM and Chivsy I believe. Well done guys
  6. What a night! So glad I went after my 24th hour change of mind and had a bloody amazing day on so many levels Not even the weather could dampen that buzz and a big thank you to Dave and Brendan Johnson, and BobC for coming to my rescue with a ticket and the pass. Could have hugged them all. Great to see the young lads given chance to ride but such a shame it can't be a bit closer to the main event. Nice to meet up with a few people beforehand but the rain seemed to affect the usual pre-meeting turnout in the PoW. But Bomber - jeez what a star! Rode like a man possessed and I defy any sporting spectacle to out-do that noise when he won the Final. Credit as others have said to Crump and Hancock for their actions on the podium. Great to see. I'm still slightly hoarse today and my ears are still ringing but it was so worth it. Can't wait to watch the re-run at 3pm to see the bits I missed. Well done Bomber!!!
  7. Nah, I'd been trying to tell myself I didn't want to go for the last month or so. Typical Gem behaviour though...impluslive to the last. Apologies for side-tracking the thread to everyone else. Suzie...sure shazz will be the first person I see...or hear!
  8. Cheers Steve, I should be able to get a ticket from the box office for the top tier during the day. That's always empty-ish! Just looking forward to tomorrow now. Just have to make sure I avoid the Fat Face shop or I'll miss everything!
  9. Can't you just use the one in the Speedway Star?
  10. Steve...you're a genius! Looks like I might get to meet up with everyone at the POW after all. Seat on the bus secured - now just have to get a ticket for the actual meeting.
  11. Well, if there any nice Poole fans who would have a spare seat for a little one I might be able to manage it. Just think it might be too late now though.
  12. I know I want to, but he who must be obeyed doesn't Still I'll be there in spirit at least
  13. And avoiding air-horns too from memory Gutted I won't be there this year. don't give two hoots about missing the actual GP, just the meet-up of old friends and new beforehand which is always the best bit of the day. First Cardiff I've missed and still debating whether it was the right decision or not to flog my tickets. Sure I'll be in touch with a few people by text in the afternoon, but have a great time all
  14. Brendan Johnson for definite and I got the impression from a post by Sandie that Richard Franklin might be too.
  15. Exactly what we said. It was a hard move and unfortunate but that's racing. Hans should know that! Great to see AJ win the final after all that but felt sorry for Adams. Thought he had it in the bag tonight just quietly getting on with toting up his points. Still not sure what is up with Bjarne - he's imperious in league racing but at the GPs you'd have a hard job believing it. Very bizarre.
  16. Bloody amazing when they've not even ridden a meeting yet! Good to see Anton have a better meeting. It had to come...hope it's the start of a return to some sort of form for the lad.
  17. Sleep peacefully Kenny. My sympathies go out to his family and friends.
  18. Such tragic news following on so soon from the Garry Stead and Michal Matula incidents. Words just aren't enough to be honest.
  19. Welcome to the forum Mark. Don't worry, no-one else has received theirs yet either. Would think they're imminent in the next week or so - same as previous years to be honest. Keep an eye on the forum - people will post as soon as they start arriving.
  20. Of course, and again, I'm not saying I'd advocate a rider going out with a bump on the head - it's a safe rule and one I agree with. Just pain isn't the only indicator of an injury - what about muscle damage - a rider being able to hang onto a bike? To turn it? What if a rider took a bang and said he was OK to go out but his injury meant he just was a danger on track. That was my point really...at what stage do you differentiate between riders being safe and not after a bad accident. I'll shut up now
  21. No and I wasn't saying that Jagus should have ridden. Just more a case of what's the difference between Jagus hitting his head and not being allowed to continue for the obvious risks, and Nicki (or any other rider come to that) having alledged broken bones, but being able to continue. Both could potentially put other riders and themselves at risk in their next outing(s) - who's to say. I've no really issue either way, was just thinking it whilst watching the meeting and thought I'd see what others thought...
  22. Whoops! I did follow it up with a compliment though... Agree about the bished head bit, but it does make you wonder at what point the track doctor would intervene and say to an injured rider 'you can't go out again' especially if the stakes are so high.
