Gp 3 Eskilstuna May 26
rabbit replied to tarabanko's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry, have said arvo since I was about 10 and used to have Aussie penpals, if you knew me you'd know I've quite a laidback speech style when talking with loads of colloquialisms, pinched phrases and made up words all delivered with a Dorset accent. I just love the flexibility of the English glwssa. PS so it's OK to say 'Aussies' as a derivation of 'Australians', but not 'arvo' as an abbreviation of 'afternoon'. Hmm... -

Finally got round to watching the meeting this arvo. A few comments...heat 8 absolutely brilliant. Best race I've seen in a long time. Surprised no-one has really mentioned it. Al four riders switching constantly for 4 laps. The track was obviously condusive to good racing at that point...so they then start putting loads of water down. Go figure - it never quitw got back to being that good. Very impressed with Lindgren but think comparisons are pointless with other riders. Freddie's time will come that's for sure. Anton is a worry, wonder how much of it is psychological now - or is his knee injury worse than is being let on. His entire riding style seems so different this year - much more rigid and not throwing himself about on the bike as he did in previous years. Nicki P - what a nut! In so much pain but carries on - fair play to the guy. His pain threshold must be set at 'screaming'. One thing that did interest me - Jagus was barred from taking further part after the crash, but Nicki was also obviously in a lot of pain and just about managing four laps. Who's to say whether he was OK to ride but Jagus not? What if Nicki had come out in his next ride, not been able to hang on and caused a major crash? Just a thought... Finally well done to Adams. A great race in the final. Hans' face looked like a smacked arse afterwards, made me chuckle, but he will still be in the mix at the end if he can carry on riding like he did last night. Pleased too that Hancock didn't profit from his little AWOL stint in the week. Fingers crossed that all riders recover from their injuries soon. -

Errm...by so-called Poole fans Pollyanna Not one of our finest moments.

To be fair, he had the world at his feet. A meteoric rise to the world stage. The difference in less than 9 months is scary.

Got the impression Schumi was on about Sube. Think you're being two-timed mate

Confuscious say...alcohol and forum not a good combination for reading the morning after

No wonder he's got stomach pains...probably all those bacteria from blowing him nose, wiping his pits and then wiping his face with the same rag through a night. Seriously though, well done to Pedersen Snr, a very impressive start to the series. Certainly looks the man to beat this year.

Brilliant stuff from Bomber and some great moves. Finally something positive to shout about

Feel really sorry for the guy. You don't go from being a top class and stylish rider to the pale shadow he is at the moment without there being some serious issues there. I was critical of what went on at Poole last summer, but I hate seeing a good rider like him so obviously struggling. Either he still has serious issues with his knee which aren't being made public; there are problems in his camp; or he is so low on confidence and race fitness that it's killing him on track. Or perhaps a combination of all three? Really hope he can get it sorted. On his day well worth watching, but not like this.

U15s Assessment For Academy League
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Sorry to hear that Jess. Always admired what you did in the sport and it's a shame that such out-dated views have put you off. It says more about the dinosaurs involved than it does about you and unfortunately they're still out there in every walk of life thinking 'little women' should be stuck in doors cow-towing to their menfolk and not doing anything they want to have a go at. You've still got more balls than a lot of blokes probably spouting that crap for getting into the sport and getting teamplaces over the years. Here's hoping that a few years on, these young girls having a go now don't come up against the same prejudices. I hate to say I won't hold my breath... -
Whither Cardiff Tickets?
rabbit replied to studio14x.fsnet.co.uk's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
British GP tickets aren't normally sent out until 3 weeks or so before the event irrespective of when you ordered them, so I wouldn't start panicking just yet. -

U15s Assessment For Academy League
rabbit replied to rabbit's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Well done to all those who have passed. Great to see the next generation of riders coming through. Here's to safe and successful seasons for you all -
Just had a phone call from Brendan Johnson (Monkeyboy on here) who has passed today's assessment at Stoke allowing him to take part in the Academy League before his 15th birthday later this year. Congratulations Brendan! Knew you'd do it and can't wait to see you line up in the Pirates colours in the league when it starts. I know there were other lads taking part today but don't know exactly who or whether they passed. Perhaps others could post info here if they know who has and what teams they'll be riding for

Agree. Really hope he makes the practice sesh at Poole and rides at Somerset. Always thought he got a bum deal (no pun intended, well maybe just a little ) when he rode for us before. Thinking of making the trip to the OTA to see this one. Great start to the season and good luck to Piotr with Czestochowa.
