  1. Felt a bit sorry for Belle Vue tonight but in truth even though every rider for the Stars (MPT aside) had a bad ride they all chipped in. Except for Fricke & Etheridge the riders in Red, White & Black were largely disappointing. With Cook & Bewley fully fit, it may have been a different story. We will never know, 8 points is a big turn around though. Still think the Stars middle order of Jorgensen, Proctor & Riss are capable of losing them a meeting (& Championship).
  2. Tatum "Keep your eyes on Bellego & Proctor." Cue director focuses on Fricke 30 yards ahead.
  3. Not sure how they get around that with EU law. I guess it is an agreement between the clubs rather than a rule, means the top Poles can really hold the clubs to ransom.
  4. I'm not old enough to remember Lee or (Peter) Collins at their best. More of a case could be made for Loram winning a one off world final than you could Havelock winning a world title in the GP era. Neither are the same level as Woffinden, and I'm not a Woffinden fan.
  5. Well none of the 9000 in attendance bothered sitting in the lower sections of any of the stands.
  6. Is Ekstraliga team building restricted by averages or is it totally down to a teams budget? Vaculik has seemed a hit at Gorzow (he definitely seems good friends with Zmarzlik) & Kasprzak isn't getting any younger, so if they were to release a heat leader Kasprzak would seem most likely. I hope Lublin can compete next year for your sake.
  7. Don't think it would necessarily damage Lambert's GP prospects if he wasn't in Ekstraliga in 2019, but it is obviously the next step after finishing 7th in the NICE div 1 averages. Would obviously be ideal if he could move up with Lublin, slotting in alongside AJ in the 3 & 4 births , with a couple of new signings for the club at 1 & 5.
  8. Kolodziej? Has he ever been a #1? You'd only want Jonsson & the reserves from your promotion winning team?
  9. Goats are obviously popular in Poland, the city of Poznan are rather obsessed with goats.
  10. Zagar, Madsen & Lindgren are returning next year. This years team lacked a reserve, from what I have seen except for Drabik the two Leszno reserves are the best in the league. Which is why they're going to be crowned champions. Is the Lublin mascot a goat?
  11. I was going to say the same thing. Great meeting though. Shame stadium looked almost empty.
  12. Understood. So why when we are in a Country where every team is within a reasonable travelling distance do we have Playoffs? Because it makes good TV. Not sure with Airports everywhere US can really make a case for playoffs anymore. Except its good TV.
  13. But it is the only Sport where the league isn't decided by Play Offs I watch. - I don't watch any format of Cricket.
  14. Playoff's you can blame U.S. T.V. for..... Or the viewers, who watch it. Not sure what it has to do with GP's.
  15. I'm not old enough to remember Lee or Carter let alone any British rider that came before. Woffinden is far better a rider than the two British World Champions I can remember. Havelock was the rider who adapted best to atrocious conditions in Wroclaw on the date of the 92 World Final. Whereas Loram couldn't win an Event but was the most consistent over the (what?) 6 GP's of 2000. Certain a 10 point lead for Woffinden is enough tp mean he only needs to complete 3 heats in Torun. After the 1st hour, quite enjoyed the meeting. But fail to see why Germamy deserve to host a GP. Hope Hancock doesn't nick Bronze in Torun. Glad Sayfutdinov looks back on form to qualify for next year. Speedy recovery for Cook & Vaculik.
  16. In the Elitserien (or Ekstraliga) he may not be a #1 anymore, but I'm not sure there is a better 2nd heat leader out there.
  17. Cool. Hopefully the Saturday after Warsaw. Holiday #1 sorted.
  18. Kasprzak going from last to first down the home straight to join Andersen for a 1-5 over the atrociously slow Kildemand & Vaculik in about heat 6 ended the televised meeting as a contest, sadly. Was rather enjoying it. Great result for Smederna. Ghostwalker still not an NKI fan?
  19. Thanks for the map. So why did they ever host World Finals & GP's in Gothenburg? Nowhere near an active Speedway track?
  20. They injury to Dudek certainly gives Vastervik hope.
  21. Only Lawson has let the Rebels down really. BWD & Allen have thrown a point away each but you have to expect that from riders starting the season on sub 4 point averages.
  22. Difficult to call heat 8 but I thought if there was a winner it wasn't Jacobson.
