Swedish GP 2018 Hallstavik
Col replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I did say no Danes except NKI merritted a spot in the GP's this year. Pedersen creates more interest. Don't think Madsen has ever really had a chance to establish himself on the world stage, the others have. -

Just two? I'd rather see Madsen, Iversen & Jepson Jensen rather than Pedersen. Maybe even Kildemamd. But only Iversen's inclusion is mildly meritted this season. -

Decent GP, some good races. But for the final lap of semi final 2 I had the 4 finalists in the GP predictor. That said Zmarzlik certainly deserved to be in the final. Traffic cost Woffinden in thr final, but I still think he'll have the World title sewn up with a round or two to spare if he avoids injury. -
Leicester Lions v Wolverhampton Wolves, 2 July 18
Col replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who has the worst #1. Its a midlands only competition... Except for Kurtz, eerrr and Kasprzak. Impressive debut for Wells. Glad to hear King still in picture for Lions. -
I can only hope something can be arranged so Rye House can complete their fixtures in 2018 on an evening when their fan base will be present.

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 25/6/18
Col replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I van see MFF's point. But the person to blame for Poole's 2018 failure is whoever thought Kurtz would hold his own at #1. And allowed the Holder saga to continue with fans left in the dark. I expected more fron Josh G & Sundstrom, also. Admittedly. -
I did not think the meeting, in terms of racing was any better or worse than most of what I enjoyed during the years I was a regular (2004-2009) at Monmore. Just 'Karlsson' corridor was less evident (hug the inside exiting turn 2) and there was no rider going deep & fast into turns 3&4 except for Charles Wright, who got it wrong. It wasn't great but Pieszczek made a clean pass on his first visit. In terms of entertainment it was far more interesting to watch than anything ever served up on TV from Blunsdon, Hoddesdon, Foxhall & Arena Essex. If you discount the SWC of 03/4 Wimbourne Rd, also.

Both teams will probably consider valuable points dropped tonight. Could Kings Lynn not find a better guest than Clegg?

Somerset v Poole Prem A. 20/6/18
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Grajczonek has done himself no favours not riding in the championship. Maybe he'll be at reserve when Koryna makes it to the Pirates #1 spot. -
Shows how cruel sport can be. When the first 6 Lions team was originally announced I was keen to go to a few fixtures, it being the now (sadly) second closest Top Tier track to me. And many had Leicester down as potential 2018 champions. The injuries to Vaculik and Bates have meant I have no intetest in visiting & the Lions chances of avoiding the Wooden Spoon look as likely as them sneaking into 4th.
