  1. Vetlanda & Wroclaw both have a reasonable chance of making the play-offs in there respective leagues, Woffinden has been pretty scathing of British tracks via twitter when he's seen them on TV. Wolves traditionally don't make changes they're not forced into, I would be very surprised if the swap happened.
  2. Coventry rode without Kasprzak regardless. There are very few EL meets on a Saturday. If their PL teams were allowed a facility for rider in the pairs competition & SEC, they could be involved. I am of the the opinion that the the BSPA should find sponsors to fund these riders participation in such events. You cannot tell me that the riders from Germany & Eastern Europe (not including Poland & Russia) can have a greater level of income & sponsorship than our promising youngsters if the BSPA backed them?
  3. Another fantastic spectacle in Daugavpils, if only for the crazy lines the Latvian's were pulling, thought Bogdanovs was harshly excluded in the final. Shame that 3 riders who were not involved in the first event finished in the top 4 at this event, but in some way it is all to play for at the final events with about 10 riders on 18-13 points. It would be hugely beneficial for British riders to be involved and for an event to be held here, the same can be said of the pairs event. I'm sure the riders involved in this would draw a greater crowd to the NSS or Brandon than CL meetings. Would it really hurt the BSPA to grant a guest facility for Cooke, Lambert, Ellis & Bates to compete in these international televised events.
  4. Surely, Paul Starke is booked as a guest for someone, along with Charles Wright. Poole's most effective assets.
  5. If Poole were in the same position, would your management been keen to give your likely Play-off final opponents practice on your track? Didn't Belle Vue win at Poole in the only fixture I am aware of between the two teams this year? Holder & Kurtz were pretty useless last Friday, Holder was probably worse on Saturday. If Belle Vue can finish top of the EL by the time the Play-offs kick in without arranging home meetings against their likely play-off opponents. Fair play. Besides Poole can't even win away at Coventry, where every other team seems to.
  6. Ouch on the early finish for the bottom four, must hit their income. Hope Janowski & Dudek find some form before next weeks TV match. Is Holta any good at Motala? If not it won't be much of a spectacle.
  7. The guy on Eurosport last night said that the play off's are 6 meetings per team this year, so I assume it is a mini league? Do the bottom four also compete in a mini league or is there season over by the third week in August? I hope Vetlanda don't make the top 4 if that is what will be televised, horrible track.
  8. I have not been to many Speedway meetings in the last few years, but I can't think of one I've been to or watched on TV where both teams were at full strength i.e. no R/R or guests. I don't think I'd ever go to a meeting expecting both teams to be fielding their named 1-7. I last had a season ticket for Birmingham in 2008, every week watching a multitude of home guest riders put me off.
  9. I can't really understand why considering the riders they have that Rospiggarna are good while Lejonen are rubbish. Enjoyed the Eurosport meeting tonight, the heat with Ljung & Dudek V Lindgren & Iversen, was a cracker. Couple of good rides in there from Lindback & Joel Andersson. I do wonder what are the rules? Why was Magnus Karlsson not replaced in the second reserves race with a tac sub, Gomolski for example. Why couldn't a reserve replace the TS Holta when he was eliminated by 2 mins rule? Pepsi could have got a point in that heat. Does Karlsson have to have 3 rides, being a reserve? Could have put him in heat 15, when all was lost if required.
  10. Having been there last night & having just watched the reply, I don't think anyone can deny the Poles who probably had the best 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th riders at the meeting. Woffinden was without doubt the stand out performer, with Doyle & Lindgren vying for second. For a journeyman rider the Swede's can be pretty happy with Ljungs performance IMO because Lindback & Jonsson faded badly. So do I think Doyle should have been excluded in what turned out to be a crucial heat 16? Very debatable, he hit Pawlicki going in and I do think Pawlicki bailed as soon as he realised that Jonsson was past in hope rather than expectation of getting a re-run. But Doyle then, showed stupid impatience proceeded to shove Cooke into the fence twice, to his credit Cooke did stay on his bike but to a massive disadvantage. Had Pawlicki been excluded how the following heats went team GB could have won or finished 4th! Had Cooke gone down, Doyle would have been excluded, had Doyle showed a modicum of patience having passed Pawlicki & Jonsson he'd have passed Cooke, he was certainly faster. It is a shame that Cooke & King took time to come to the party, should we be disappointed with Lambert, possibly but he 3 years younger than any other rider that competed last night and fingers crossed will benefit from the international experience. King & Cooke have had their moment at Cardiff, it's time the spot was automatically granted to Lambert.
  11. Thought places 1 & 2 would be highly contested but Swedes were a class above the Aussies, especially with the Doyle antics trying to get the joker & tac sub to get Masters out that heat, have to say fairly disappointed with the Germans, thought they'd do better on a big wide track. Heat 16 was almost beautiful, Holder on joker had no answer for Hancock & Lindback. While the yellow helmet failed for Denmark earlier this week due to gate positions it worked for Sweden tonight. Be interesting to see who get it in the race off, if the Aussie's don't I think they'll struggle. You basically concede the first four heats if yellow, but can use joker early and hit back. On a side note, if the race-off was moved to Kirky Lane, would the USA team be favourites for it? The Russians would be bouncing off the fence for sure.
  12. Having purchased tickets for the Race-off & final. I hope the Aussie's can get the win here, Sweden V Denmark on the Friday will make it a better meeting. I'm far from convinced Greg's points will be enough to make the race off for the US. That is a decent German line-up.
  13. Fairly predictable event, horrible race circuit as ever in Vojens. Very little passing. Denmark must be hoping the Aussie's beat the Swede's in Vasterik else they're not gonna make the final.
  14. Russia Emil Sayfutdinov Artem Laguta Poland Maciej Jankowski Bartosz Zmarzlik Czech Republic Josef Franc Vaclav Milik Denmark Leon Madsen Niels-Kristian Iversen Australia Max Fricke Jason Doyle USA Greg Hancock Ricky Wells Germany Kevin Wolbert Martin Smolinski Sweden Antonio Lindback Andreas Jonsson
  15. Really enjoyed the meeting from Güstrow. Agree the SEC would be a great way for Brit's like Lambert to get some quality International Experience, ridiculous if it is the BSPA that are denying their riders such an opportunity. Looking forward to the next event. Will be supporting Vaculik, Kołodziej & Lebedevs for the rest of the series due to no Brit's.
  16. I don't know how it double posted, thanks for link.
  17. I can't see a topic for this, so apologies for any potential double post. But I've just watched it as my TiVo box taped it. What a fantastic meeting, the rain helped in making the track and results somewhat random & unpredictable. Why are no Brits involved in this? Surely Robert Lambert at least would be more competitive than Anders Thomsen, Peter Ljung and Tobias Busch. And an extra event at 'the National Speedway Arena" could be accommodated in the series.

  19. Is the current Smederna team the worst ever in the league. No fight at all.
  20. Just watched Lions v Indians, a week late admittedly but been on holiday. Track was like Exeter used to be, super fast but very little passing after the third turn. I generally support the Indians over other teams, Iversen is my favourite rider of the current batch, I like watching Lindback race & I don't mind Lindgren. Surely it is time for the Indians to dump Pepe & Joablonski, who else to they have in the squad?
  21. I will admit that Polish riders general failure in the British League is due to their inability to commit to every meeting. And that is down to British Speedway being unable to commit to a regular night, but having watched King beat Zmarzlik at the GP, who went on to pass Hancock in the final are British riders ever given a chance?
  22. Do we really need more fixtures? Doubt it. Sweden & Poland don't. We need a fixed race night for the top division teams, Monday is the obvious choice since that suits Sky. You know your team will have a meeting every Monday night, you can follow them home & away. Sky or BT or Eurosport (flog to highest bidder) can do their bit by televising the Cup matches (do North/South league stage, then KO with top 2 from each) which would be on Wednesday, I think Danish League is Wed, Swedish Div 2 Thursday? But I can't think of a PL Wednesday team.
  23. I stated a while back that I thought this was the worst Bee's team I have ever witnessed, after watching the Kings Lynn meeting at Brandon my opinion has not changed, but at least they showed some fight in that meeting. What options are there keeping King, Bates, Harris & Garrity (if he is likely to be fit anytime soon). Kasprzak looks OK on that average, but doesn't look half the rider he was a few years ago. Must be a roll the dice time, else play offs are out the question.
  24. I'm sure if they only sold 3/4's the car park the developers would be onto a winner. And the events held there would have enough parking still. Very weird meeting, Kings Lynn must have been gutted to come away with only 3 points.
