High Noon. Belle Vue V Poole Ela. 29/08/16.
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would never trust the weather in Manchester, having spent a few years watching Sale Sharks. It seems grim no end. For Poole to win they the twins to have an off night. Kurtz, Monster Energy Has Been & the Byawne mobile Chicane will struggle. Lets face it unless Newman & Ellis don't come up with some poor scores they won't get a team place next year and the I cannot imagine Anderson will perform. Yes I am a cynical human being -
Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ
Col replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Wolves can ensure Woffinden misses the gate in all of his rides for the rest of the season, I may go watch it for the first time in I don't know how long. If it is not to TV. -
Swindon V Poole Elb Monday 22/08/16 Sky Meeting.
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No offence to Swindon but whatever you say, having just watched last nights broadcast give me Woffinden missing the gate and putting the bike "into reverse" in the corners over much of what was on offer at Blunsden. Not the most entertaining of matches for a neutral. Tungate was superb for the Robins, but if they are to do anything in the playoffs which I suspect they'll make can they replace Neilsen & Sedgeman? If not they'll get blown away. Very disappointing performance from Buczkowski for Poole I expected more of him. Byawne is just there to get 6 points from the reserve races, he was his usual mobile chicane other than that. Doyle bottling heat 13 was almost as funny as Byawne going from first to last and Anderson throwing his bike on the shale in the hope of a heat 15 rerun. Great ride from Doyle to pass the Monster Energy Once Was in heat 15, made up for his heat 13 mistake. Anderson is half the rider he used to be. Still think he could have been World Champion in 2006 if he'd been given a Wildcard that year. -
Should be a fantastic final event, so close. Shame BSPA don't allow Lambert to be involved.
-
Haven't seen result yet with final yet to watch, meeting TiVo'ed. Another great meeting racing wise, why can't the GP's be this entertaining. Pedersen bailed with space to spare when Milik overtook him then hit the tapes in the rerun. Almost poetic justice. Just glad Sayfutdinov hasn't amassed a silly amount of points so the Rybnik event still matters.
-
Glad Swindon won this at least they have the ambition to be competitive. Kings Lynn gave that up a week ago putting out a frankly awful 1-7 v/s Poole. Hope the racing was good for the fans.

Dear New Science, bickering with Stevebrum is futile. One of the many reasons I gave up spending time on this forum. He's nice enough if you meet him in person.

KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kai Huckenbeck, Chris Harris, Rory Schlein, Troy Batchelor, Josh Bailey, Lewis Kerr SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Justin Sedgmen, Nick Morris, Rohan Tungate, Josh Grajczonek, Leigh Lanham, Stefan Nielsen. Taken from the KL page. If so I'd expect an easy home win.

Just watched Dackarna v Rospiggarna, TiVo box recording. What a fantastic performance from Peter Ljung, certainly the finest moment of his that I have witnessed. Wasn't really sure who to support as I don't particularly like or dislike any riders in the Dackarna or Masarna teams. Would it of been beneficial for Rospiggarna to eliminate Dackarna from the playoffs considering their dominance in the league and Dackarna are more likely to take points from Piraterna & Indianerna than them in the playoffs? No one can fault Rospiggarna efforts. Holta was very hit & miss but his elbow on AJ in the deciding heat was as important as anything, surprised he was given the nod over Dudek if I'm honest for that, or was Dudek struggling mechanically? Still struggling to comprehend how the likes of Timo Lahti are preferred over Brits such as Cooke & King, for Swedish teams. He will probably be a league winner this year. Because despite this narrow loss from what I have seen (televised stuff) their are fewer weak points in the Rospiggarna then all the others. With Krzysztof Buczkowski at reserve, any weakness is completely nullified and they can bring Max Fricke back. Was impressed by Thorssell. If Dackarna are going to do anything in the playoffs, Janowski needs to turn his form around pronto and they need to find someone at reserve alongside Pepsi to score points.

Kings Lynn V Poole Ela. 11/8/16
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Depends on how much pride Swindon & Kings Lynn have left in them, if Poole can avoid Wolves in Semi. I can't see Pirates winning at Monmore or NSS during or after before unless Zagar goes missing. I do think the Pirates will beat both Wolves & Belle Vue at Wimbourne Rd comfortably. -
If you think the signing of Woffinden has won the Elite League for Wolves, you're mad. Belle Vue have flaws also. Wolves have to carry a very disappointingly inconsistent Howarth, an aging PK & novice in Clegg. Belle Vue have to carry a novice in Jacobs. All Poole riders seem to score every meeting and if they don't I'm sure Charles Wright or Paul Starke can step in, they seem to allot. I can see Zagar having a can't be arsed night along the way, to boot.
-
7.03 he starts on, getting it down to less than Howarth & PK on 4.91 & 5.53 would take allot of last places. Wolves do need to win at least a few of their remaining fixtures.

Kings Lynn V Poole Ela. 11/8/16
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who cares. KL gave up hope of PO's tonight, I guess to the benefit of Lakeside. How many points and meetings in hand does this leave Poole on Belle Vue. And do either have to visit Monmore again before the Play Offs start. Is their PO cut off date. I know Poole have to visit NSS twice. Do the Aces have to visit Wimbourne Rd? -
I'm sure Masters & Lindgren can find an excuse not to be there if he wants to. The ELRC is pretty low priority for riders these days, else how the hell would Schlien have won it? I'm sure on my only ever visit to Blunsden I witnessed Ronnie Correy be Wolves sole representative in the competition. Think Travis McGowan was the Silver Component.

Kings Lynn V Poole Ela. 11/8/16

After that pathetic performance, Poole really need to drop Andersen and bring in Dudek before the play-offs. Dudek has spent countless hours practising at Monmore Green & NSS Tracks, he has fast bikes which he'll bring over. Promise. The team Kings Lynn put out was a disgrace. -
Janowski isn't exactly riding well in Sweden currently.
-
Well after yesterday's results, Woffinden won't be riding in Sweden after next Tuesday. Guess that leaves a few spots in his calendar empty.

Belle Vue will have to carry Jacobs, all Poole riders will at least score. -
Rain affected meeting which got better as the night progressed at Motala. Do wonder why Hancock who had had little speed all night was selected over Kildemand for heat 15. Kasprzak getting the nod for the Gorzow GP which I'm attending over the seemingly unstoppable force that is Dudek is baffling. I know it is Kasprzaks home track but aside from Sayfutdinov, Dudek is obviously the quickest rider outside the current GP riders. What is wrong with Janowski?
-
Not really, second rate over the hill journey man.

Poole Pirates Vs Kings Lynn Stars 10/08/16 Elite Lgea
Col replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole flexing their PO muscles. And increasing their averages, so who will be dumped for the PO terminator THJ? -
I'd rather them draft in a quality rider in Woffinden who has spent many a season in the British Leagues, then a play off mercenary like THJ. Although THJ seems to have dropped my radar completely. Exactly, I would rather Wolves employ a quality British rider than a Finnish Journeyman. And have a chance of making the playoffs interesting.

Just watched this on TiVo. Swindon middle order, oh dear. Coventry track wasn't in prime condition. I didn't think any Coventry rider really impressed despite the scoreline. Without looking at remaining fixtures, as awful as Lakeside were at Poole when I saw them, they appear to have more points throughout the team than Swindon. A late Kings Lynn push, might save the play off first round fixtures.
-
Indeed now having looked at the fixtures, it seems mission impossible with Masarna hosting Smederna the final week. I guess that would suit him. With Poole & Belle Vue also cert's for the top two places, he clearly has no objections to the track at the NSS judging by his SWC exploits. Even if Lakeside (the track he seemed to object to the most) do make the play-off's it is unlikely Wolves will visit Purfleet.
