  1. I saw Ben Barker when he was up at Armadale in a Conference Trophy match. I mentioned then he was one for the future. I liked him straight away
  2. Don't be silly Lupus Simon Stead rides in the PL. Since when does the PL ever get special dispensation :?:  Mind you he is doubling up with Wolves so I am surprised he didn't get it considering CVS is there
  3. Ahhh you mean the "Black Bear" :?: I am afraid the powers that be won't part with that "tune" as it is steeped in history. The songs that remind me of the speedway are "I am the one and only" (Peter Carr's signature tune) and quite recently "Bat out of hell" seeing as it's Magnus' signature tune and he is winning quite a lot
  4. Well something isn't right somewhere :? Both Edinburgh and Glasgow have fairly smooth tracks but they still produce good racing. I hate seeing riders almost lose control or lose control and crash because they have hit a rut (and I am not talking inexperienced riders here). That's surely not what the game is all about.
  5. Wishing Theo all the best for Sunday but I don't see him making any impression in the meeting considering the exalted company he is in. However what can never be taken away from him is that he has done very well to get to this stage considering he is a reserve/second string in the PL
  6. Our ones have and are even members of Monarchs Chatzone Their input is greatly appreciated
  7. Maybe it's a good job Team GB didn't win after all. I would have heard your airhorn up here
  8. Sorry Falcace but I disagree. I felt the Vojens track was a disgrace. If they want world class events then let's have a track prepared properly and not the rutted field that the final took place on. The ruts caused riders to lift and veer of their line alarmingly and that's when most of the overtakes happened. That is not good racing imo.
  9. An airhorn indoors :!: Glad you ain't my neighbour Shazzy
  10. Speaking from an Edinburgh point of view (and even a Glasgow one), we have always suffered when trying to sign English riders or riders based in England because they just don't want to travel. That is why we have had so many Swedes, Danes and Finns not to mention the Aussies. So in answer to your comment quoted above I would say that problem already exists.
  11. I don't think anyone does. On the other hand you always make out he is the best no matter what  Statistics don't prove that do they :?:
  12. It is obvious that Robert Dados has medical problems :-( It must be a really tough time for him and his family just now. I hope he gets back on the road to complete recovery soon but I feel it might be a long haul :-(
  13. I don't think it's jealousy Marshy. JY2003 regularly posts like that because she has no respect for those riders she doesn't like :x
  14. Anders, do you know why Tony Rickardsson wasn't with the team in the pits :?: I thought he would have been there to support them :?
  15. Well done Sweden. A very deserved victory One thing about the track....it was an absolute disgrace :x If they want to promote a world class event then let the riders have a track that is prepared by someone who knows what they are doing. Never have I seen so many top class riders lose it like they were tonight. Just so glad that nobody was injured :x
  16. I think it will be 1. Denmark 2. Poland 3.Australia But I want Poland to win. So goooooooooooooooo Polska
  17. Edinburgh have already covered that avenue a few seasons back tho' I am not sure just how successful it has been in the long term. I think Edinburgh do a fairly good job with trying to lure new blood in to the sport. They have already covered the schools thing, they often have kids clubs in for free, they attend the local gala days and have a "float" with riders and bikes on display and posters and fliers are always put out at the beginning of the season along with adverts in the paper. There is also a bring someone along for free with tickets being arranged in advance. All in all not a bad effort from the Edinburgh promotion.
  18. Heheheheheh well you can certainly supply all the vinegar going by that acid comment.
  19. Very true and none of us Scots ever thought of it as other than Team England Hence goooooooooooo Poland
  20. Tomasz Gollob is my favourite and I missed it all :-( I hate not having SKY TV :x
  21. Ryan Sullivan is racing unless it's another Sullivan that is on "live speedway radio"
  22. It might be a good idea in our view but there must be a very good reason why tracks have not implemented it already. Surely it can't all just be down to costs :?: Think I will put this question to THE TRACKMAN.....DOC BRIDGETT on Friday
  23. Denmark Australia Poland But I would like Poland to win
