The Edinburgh fans tend to gather at one of our sponsors hotels on GP nights.
It's the Hampton Hotel, 14 Corstorphine Road.
You will have a fun night there and be made to feel very welcome. I believe the beer is not bad either
Which is a book I can recommend as I have it.
Meadowbank if you want to read this book come and see me on Friday and I will lend it to you (if you are who I think you are)
What :!: :? You may not realise this but it's not the people on this list or forum who actually run British speedway nor do we have any influence in the running of it despite what some people may think.
Things will only change if and when the people in charge decide to change.
Whilst I understand and admire your plans as to what you think can be achieved down here in the real world I can't see it happen I am afraid.
We in Scotland have always had difficulty attracting riders to travel up here week in week out. It's not going to change. We also don't have the money to throw at riders to entice them to do so.
As for a five year plan....well how long has speedway been going and we are not that much further forward than we were all those years ago apart from the GP series :!:
Support is all well and good but support for what we the fans want hasn't done much so far. It's in the hands of the ruling bodies and until there is an independant person/committee overseeing speedway in this country there will still be the rule breaking and shafting of other teams so that certain clubs get their own way. And if you think I sound bitter I sure am. I remember the fiasco the last time and how it nearly crippled some clubs.
But filling in programs isn't just about seeing what the score is. It's about all us terrace team managers looking several heats ahead in case changes are necessary and the real team manager balls it up
