Norway GP - Anyone going?
Joanne replied to Joanne's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Which way? I'm now being picked up at 3.30am next Friday -
Are there any forum members venturing out to Norway to see history in the making, the first Aussie to win the title for __ years. I'm going with Your Sporting Challenge, getting picked up from Oxford Services (which is very nice of them ) next Friday and then sailing from Newcastle in the afternoon.
-
Glad you had a great time Addy Where's Kev ? Did he have a nice time as well. I'm on nights tonight so I'll watch my Polish GP DVD then. I'll look out for you.

Not long back from Bydgoszcz myself. Had a great weekend. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric unlike anywhere else, apart from maybe another Polish track Met up with Rico and Henry W, also Kev and Addy at the track who made the GP experience alot better for me . The food tasted good but not agreeing with me now. I had a burger type thing that was mushy (raw like inside), the coffee was too strong as well. Would recommend to anyone who likes speedway to get out there next year. Bydgoszcz is a lovely town, not too sure about Warsaw though. Oh, I forgot, don't go with Air Polonia. The pilots can't fly properly and the airport you fly out of is so small that the flight ends up getting delayed because everyone hasn't been through security yet
-
Can't wait Addy, will definately make sure I meet up with Kev and yourself.

Thanks Rico. Thats a great help. See you on Thurs. bright and early

Got it from my 'Berlitz Poland pocket guide'. Although I'm sure if you look at a Scotland guide book it'll say we eat haggis all the time when we only really eat it at Burns night or when its on offer at Tescos Our favourite dish is actually 'Mars bar in batter'
-
Rico, ref. what I was talking about last night. Taken from my Poland book: Steak tartare - raw minced beef with egg yolk, chopped onions, spices, olive oil, salt and lemon juice - a favourite with Poles. And you wonder why I want to find a McDonalds Looking forward to 'Rico's idiots guide to getting to Bydgoszcz' See you at the airport Joanne

Thanks Leliwa. I've got it now. I'll be glad when I'm sitting in the stadium next week

I was just typing Warsaw and getting two trains during the day. I see where I have gone wrong now. Think I'll pick an easy one with 0 connections. Thanks Rico From a very stressed Joanne
-
Why do I keep getting this then? earlier connections (1) from to changes date departure arrival duration Warszawa Zachodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 2 17.09.04 4:10 9:14 5:04 Warszawa Wschodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 1 17.09.04 5:35 10:51 5:16 Warszawa Zachodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 0 17.09.04 7:05 11:12 4:07 Warszawa Zachodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 1 17.09.04 8:24 12:42 4:18 Warszawa Zachodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 0 17.09.04 10:30 14:34 4:04 Warszawa Wschodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 1 17.09.04 10:36 17:23 6:47 Warszawa Centralna Bydgoszcz Główna 1 17.09.04 13:20 17:37 4:17 Warszawa Zachodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 0 17.09.04 14:30 18:20 3:50 Warszawa Wschodnia Bydgoszcz Główna 1 17.09.04 14:37 19:55 5:18 The other stations aren't part of the central one are they?
-
I'm talking about going to Byd. on Friday, staying in Warsaw Thursday night. Where did you get that? I'm looking at http://www.pkp.pl/english/rozklad_eng.php Looks like I'm lost already
-
Thanks Rico. But the first train that goes from Central Station is at 1320, changing at Kutno and getting to Bydgoszcz at 1737. Next one is three hours later.
-
Trying to work out directions to Bydgoszcz 1. What's the best train station to use from Warsaw. The Central one doesn't seem to have many trains leaving from it and how do you get to them from the Central area. 2. What station do I get off at Bydgoszcz Rico, think you might be on my plane. Are you going at 9am from Stansted next Thursday?
-
Sure was, and sets the scene for Poland. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Especially as Kev is getting the drinks in. We can't wait, can we, Addy
-
We definately want Hans to be in next year GPs. He makes the GPs alot more exciting. Well Done Hans
-
Well done TR. Great GP.
-
Welcome back GR, I missed you Must have missed that bit when i nipped upstairs. Unfortunately Mark doesn't seem suited to GPs. Although I like him I don't really like the attitude to blame anything for losing sometimes. Come on Mark, get it together
-
Wish I'd seen your post Smartie. Would have liked to have met you.

Hi Splatty I'm sitting on a seat in section A near the first bend. I get the feeling that apart from the dear seats at the start/finish and section A the rest of the stadium is benches so you would have to put you towel down early Having said that I sat on the back straight (on a seat) at Ullevi and it had a brilliant atmosphere and you could see who was actually winning the races. Doing it again in Norway.

These Poles really know how to enjoy themselves. Only two weeks to go, looking forward to it

Monday , I'm working nights on Sunday and again on Monday. Don't really want to miss another meeting so I might grab a few hours sleep when I get home Monday, go to the speedway and then sleep again before I go on nights. Don't expect be to be quite with it though
