I think the attendance could be up with Chris Louis being a wildcard but hopefully Scotty will be with him.

I am going on the 20th and coming back on the 23rd. Booked the flight and accommodation but not managed to book the ticket yet.

You do know that the Copenhagen stadium has a roof so you're covered if it rains I went last year and had a great time. Make sure you take comfortable walking shoes with you. ENJOY

Phil, you have to come. We can't have a forum meet without the MAIN MAN.

The POW is always packed, in fact they ran out of lager last year.

Thanks, Scorpio. My train tickets are in the drawer next to my GP ticket Don't have to worry about getting lost now in the centre of Cardiff

Hi Scorpio. Welcome back to the forum I'm going by train this year, can't get lost that way. Your email is on its way.

The story of the 1st GP ?
Joanne replied to gillam's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Great GP. I think the problem with the tapes helped make it even better, it wasn't first out the gate who won all the time. Congrats. to Leigh. I knew he would win Thought I was having a bad hair day, did anyone see Mark's hair ? Wouldn't see Beckham like that, he would be off getting his hair done by his expensive hairdresser after each heat. Rickardsson was lucky. There is no way he should have been in that Final. -
Cardiff-whose stopping where?
Joanne replied to dgm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Are you making your poor children suffer the Grand Prix again Joanne? I thought you were going alone this year. Looks like I've said it wrong again, Gemini The kids are not going. I did have a family room at the Innkeepers but when they said that they definately weren't going I thought I'd better look for a single room. Looking forward to seeing you again, Gemini. I'll be sitting beside you again this year so make sure you've got your phrase book ready. By the way the family room has now been taken up by another forum member -
Cardiff-whose stopping where?
Joanne replied to dgm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I have found a place 2 minutes walk from the stadium So at the moment I've got a spare family room available at the Innkeepers in Cardiff which I haven't cancelled yet (if any of my forum friends are interested) -
Predictions for Swedish Grand Prix?.
Joanne replied to MAD 3:16's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm going for a Leigh Adams win. Definately the best rider this season (without a doubt ). Second will be Jason Crump with Nicki Pedersen third. -

Also there is a tourist information office near the train station where you can get advice plus plenty of freebie leaflets about buses and things to do. -
Practice for GP's
Joanne replied to gooner_girl4eva's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Might meet up with you sometime then. I'm going to Cardiff, Gothenburg, Poland (Byd) and Norway when I get a reply from My Sporting Challenge. Would have liked to have gone to Prague but my course for my job starts on the Sunday. I have alot of revising to do before then, just wish it would stick in my head -
Practice for GP's
Joanne replied to gooner_girl4eva's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't know if they're doing Official Practices this year. As for meeting riders it is possible to meet them. Maybe on your Easyjet/Ryan Air flight or maybe in your hotel. You can't be chicken like me though In Cardiff you'll have plenty of chance to meet ex riders from our very own forum (they won't bite but might have you in stitches ) Maybe see you in Gothenburg gooner_girl4eva -
I've noticed that there seems to be two airports in Gothenburg, City and Göteborg-Landvetter airport. Which one is the right one? They are not the same airport, are they ? Any information on recommended hotels or ones that I should avoid would be appreciated.

polish hotels 2004
Joanne replied to beercellar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not been there, but due to be there in Sept. The hotels is Big Dosh ( I'm too tired to spell it, I've been working nights for the last five nights ) are fully booked but the train system is really good so there is no reason why the hotels in neighbouring towns cannot be used. -
Thanks, Cheetahhawk. Think I'll start looking into it. Firstly I'll ask my boss if that weekend is free.

Considering going to Gothenburg this year. What's it like there, is there plenty to see/do?

Hotels in Cophenhagen

Just Cardiff and Bydgoszcz (that's the one I've been longing to go to for years). Might go to one of the Swedish ones or even the Norwegian one. Can't decide or I could just go to the WTC Semi and Final. Don't forget to take your camera. Some lovely sights. -

Hi gooner_girl4eva I stayed in the First Vestebro last year near Tivoli, booking with Totalstay.com (very nice). Watch out for the red light district around the corner where the Ibis hotels are (although probably not that bad). Transport from the centre to Parken is good. I walked it though! Unfortunately due to work commitments I'll not make it this year Have a great time -
Thats not Bruce. It's Simon Mayo in a Cradley shirt See http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/presenters/mayo_biog.shtml

Polish Gp Bydgoszcz
Joanne replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I reserved my room in the City Hotel and then noticed that the Pod Orlem was £75 for two nights. I reserved that also. The next day I got a confirmation from the City and a rejection from the Pod (fully booked). So I'm in the City for about £100 for the two nights. Some websites are coming up as £88 per night for a single room in the City. I'm in the Metropol for the night I arrived in Warsaw, that was £37. the flight was £49. So I'm still cheaper than Travel Plus at £500. I know I've still got National Express to pay for to Stansted and the train to Bydgoszcz. -

I guess it's also got a bathroom then Jo? That'll make a pleasant change from last year (Yeah, I know you re-booked really) I think its got a bit more than that, Kev Here are some of the facilities it has. The hotel service: restaurant, bar, night club, conference rooms, view terrace, room service, laundry, hairdressing salon, clothing boutique, cosmetics boutique, beauty salon, solarium, Jacuzzi, sauna, gym, car rental, multi-language service, guarded car-park, also for coaches. Looking forward to meeting you in the bar SJW . No use putting a photo up of myself, I'll look a different woman after I've been in the beauty salon etc etc
