Warsaw Gp 13th May 2017
PolskiZuzel replied to james1234's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For the third year in a row PGE Warsaw's Stadion Narodowy will be hosting the best speedway riders in the world. The FIM Speedway Grand Prix round will take place on May 13th, 2017 and may go down in history as the last one in Warsaw. Next year ends the three-year contract for staging the event at PGE Warsaw's National Stadium, and according to przegladsportowy.pl the compromise on a new contract, is far away. Concerns are being raised primarily to the contract cost, as well as its length. The BSI for another contract wants from the PZM much more than before, and the Poles do not want to hear about it. The British based BSI offered a five-year contract, which is not acceptable to Poles. They want to sign a contract for the next three years, with an option to extend it by a year in order to organize the World Team Cup. So far, the BSI for the round in Warsaw has been getting from the organizers less than for the rounds in Gorzow and Torun. - We have already started talks on the GP continuation rounds in Warsaw. A lot in this case will depend on fans and their interest in the event. The situation must be resolved in the first half of next year - said Andrzej Witkowski, president of PZM at a press conference. Within hours from this announcemnet the fans managed to buy more than two thousand tickets. -
Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles
PolskiZuzel replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
That is exactly what's all about. Polish bosses want their riders when they are needed, for example for re-scheduled matches because the original were were cancelled due to rsin, etc. -
copied and translated from sportowefakty.pl Quite often, you had been asked about riding again in the British League. Finally, we heard that you will not be riding there in 2017 season. The priority for me are leagues in Poland and Sweden. At this moment the British League is not. I suspect that many fans would like me to be there and it is very flatering. I did spend a few seasons there. There was a great atmosphere, both in the team and in the stands. However, at the moment, from a sporting point of view, I do not need to ride in the UK . I'd rather have a little more free time, which I can spend on training or with my family. Before the 2014 season you resigned from the Grand Prix. In our previous discussions it was highlighted, that you will not return until you miss this cycle. How do you feel about it now? - Yes, it is true, that I long for it again. Few people know that this season I was to ride in qualifying rounds for this cycle. Unfortunatelly an earlier injury, thwarted my plans. So I have to count on the organizers favours whilst distributing wild cards or start in the qualifying rounds next year. Contractual matters have been taken care of, so now is the time to rest. What plans do you have in front of you? I have just arrived at St. Petersburg with my family and I intend to rest. It looks as though I won’t get much rest because I have a lot of things to do in Russia. Soon I'm going to begin preparations for the next season. We'll see what happens next, but generally I don’t intend to rest in the tropics .I want to spend more time in Russia.

PolskiZuzel replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You are right saying that...as was the case with Jerzy Szczakiel in 1973. Was he the best, or just lucky? SGP is not " one night thing ", so the luck problem is much more reduced, although still existing. Your Zielona Gora rider - Jason Doyle was unlucky to get injured one round before GP conclusion, but that how it goes. You are either lucky, or not. Picnics ? what are you talking about...you are on the English speaking forum...not in PL. -

The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
PolskiZuzel replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So Poole can do it ( tell Andersen they won't tolerate clashes with his Danish League ), but Poles cannot. Why ? Because weather cannot be predicted quite a few Polish matches had to be postponed and it turned out that some of their key riders were comitted to ride elsewhere on re schduled date -

...no they don'r. They SIGN A CONTRACT for a minimum of one season. A contract is something both sides agree to. -
The team of experts from the PZMot wants restrict PGE EkstraLiga riders to participate in no more than up to two leagues (including Polish) - informs sportowefakty.pl It's a controversial idea, which may have an impact on the world speedway. There are pros and cons of such action - says sportowefakty.pl expert - Krzysztof Cegielski. Such a rule will be preferred by some and much less by others. The most interesting will be the reaction of the stars who during the season – up to now – been riding in several leagues - The controversial ruling will hit hardest mainly riders from Denmark. - They will have their own home league, Polish, and nothing else. Russians or Czechs probably will not be thrilled either. Australians are in a different situation, they will still have a choice - argues Cegielski On the other hand, sportowefakty.pl expert has no doubt that such a move will show who is the boss in world speedway. - Polish fans for some time have been expecting the Polish league to show its strength and that's what wil happens if this controversial ruling will come to force.. He expect much resistance from the riders who ride in many leagues. The rider, who rides here, there and everywhere earns good money, but he takes place in a team which could filled by others, and this leads to the fact that the rider's market is shrinking. The truth is that the best will choose Poland and Sweden. The rest will go to other leagues, and that will decrease the level of competition in many countries - emphasizes Cegielski.

Polish ExtraLiga works different to the British League set up. Zmarzlik is u-21 of age, and as such is one of the two compulsory u-21 riders in the Polish set up. -
