  1. Of that lot, only the Fish can be classed as a genuine #1... Blackbird has the potential given another couple of years, Ostergaard is a has been and Bjerre is a gating tart... You must be eating the same food as all those that think Scottish Independence is a good idea!
  2. Well they shouldn't be heatleaders if they can't adapt to every type of track... I mean, a heatleader being beaten and overtaken shouldn't be a heatleader!!! I'd call overtaking (irrespective of class of rider), racing. The follow m'leader fest at Berwick is just riding round a track...
  3. Of which if you read the review of the meeting on the Edinburgh website, we acknowledge this fact...
  4. I'll be happy if we hit mid-50's here... Think it'll be won down at reserve as Kennett, Garrity and Boxall should all score pretty well round the Dale. Tressarieu has had a couple of good meetings here before too and with Deek struggling to find forrm, it could be a bit closer. Don't go in for all this smug rubbish and that we should win by 30pts or hit 60 every week... Rye generally perform really well at Armadale irrespective of the season they have and if we can come away with the 3 league points in the bag - even if we win by 7pts on the night and all 14 riders in one piece, I'll be happy.
  5. Lawson from the tapes after he gets away with another flier but straightens up across the first and second bend, thinking the Edinburgh skipper is coming round the outside of him. Unbeknown to Lawson, he's been replaced by Reserve of the year Stevie Worrall who cuts up the inside and flies off into the distance to equal the track record. Meanwhile at the back, there's an almighty battle going on between the two Aussies which later involves Lawson as he looks behind and thinks he wants a bit of entertainment... he covers his partner on the inside with - as is normal, both of his wheels over the white line exiting turn 2 just as Mad Max drives round the outside and clinches second to put the Monarchs up by 2... Lawson then comes round to do a bit of gardening at the exit of turn 2 so that he can get a bit of drive off the rugby pitch for his impending Ht13 defeat of the British #2...
  6. He should've just asked Taylor Poole and Kyle howarth in his own camp on Saturday for advice!!!!
  7. Updated for Tai Woffinden's Track Record in the British Final last night.
  8. Full list: Berwick: vs Newcastle & Redcar Edinburgh: vs Newcastle & Glasgow Glasgow: vs Edinburgh & Workington Ipswich: vs Rye House & Peterborough Newcastle: vs Edinburgh & Berwick Peterborough: vs Ipswich & Plymouth Plymouth: vs Somerset & Peterborough Redcar: vs Berwick & Scunthorpe Rye House: vs Ipswich & Somerset Scunthorpe: vs Redcar & Sheffield Sheffield: vs Workington & Scunthorpe Somerset: vs Rye House & Plymouth Workington: vs Sheffield & Glasgow
  9. This may go down to the wire (and if it does, I'd put money on Cookie in Ht15 everytime) but I think the PL Select Comets may just sneak this one... Having Steve at reserve will always give us a chance and if Sam rides the way he did the last time at DP then it's gonna be very close... But the addition of Lawson for Josh and Poole for Morris doesn't weaken the Comets... Add in that this time Derek will be riding for us rather than R/R (which yielded 8pts last time out) and Lambert's impressive debut for Workington, should see them in with a more than good shout of lowering our colours... Hope not, but this could be the one...
  10. Updated with Richard Lawson's record breaking return to Derwent Park on Saturday...
  11. Would have to ask a genuine question to Newcastle supporters - Would the result have been the same, had the Newcastle team not been changed? I have to say, that I think there are slightly stronger septets in the division than us, but the character and team-spirit in the camp is giving us the extra points we need in these difficult away meetings... I've always been proud as even when the team hasn't been that strong, as we've always gone and put up performances to entertain the crowd (even if we've been hammered)... However at the moment, that same fighting spirit is pulling us through some tough encounters and turning points into wins... Happy to be a Monarch:)
  12. Updated with Cookie's track record from Armadale on Friday of 54.8s against the hapless Pussycats
  13. So it's fine for one to do it and not another? Especially when it suits your own!!!! Get o'er yourselves!!! Maybe pointing to what someone else done instead of looking at the failings in your own team where you should have won the meeting - because you really should have won the meeting, shouldn't you!! I mean, you're Ipswich!!!! Seems to me that the Witches have the blue and white blinkers on this morning...
  14. Probably racing Justin Sedgmen and Sam Masters up the autoroute after being in the same meeting Think it was announced that CC actually beat the old TR by 0.04s! That's for those who actually think speedway bikes can be accurately measured by a dothery hand on a stopwatch!!! For the official record, I believe he joint holds the TR.
  15. Add to that a second league meeting (yep, we meet twice in the league this season!) between the two sides in the farcical fixture list this year and also a (albeit possibly remote) chance that should we both reach the KO Cup Semis, another H/A fixture of the Monarchs vs Tiggers would make it a minimum of 6 home/away meetings between the two clubs...
  16. Agreed... The league meetings between these two used to be THE match that both sets of supporters looked out for... Some of the fiercest and intense meetings have occurred when these two have clashed in the league... However, nowadays with 1/3rd of our season practically devoted to meeting our friends from the West, the gloss has well and truly been taken from these matches...
  17. Well, in my mind, Workington's mentality isn't in question... We'll see just how Peterborough's is when they need to hold a slender lad at Scunthorpe in the KO Cup!!! Peterborough are vulnerable at home from teams that attack them - the successes there this season are Fish, Blackbird and Greenwood. The rest are hit and miss at the best of times so over two legs, Workington should have enough in the tank to go through. If we can dispose of Sheffield (which won't be easy), then i'd say an Edinburgh vs Workington tie is worthy of being a final... Both got to get there but it'll be a cracker if and when we do...
  18. You're right... Sheffield vs Berwick is in the KO Cup, not the League Cup...
  19. Yet not subject to being told which "Health & Safety" rule was applied in the event of cancelling a meeting!!!
  20. Becoming a weekly event at SBA!!! Also updated to include Richie Worrall equalling the Armadale track record on Friday in Ht1.
  21. So Hawkins takes a Klinsmann at Ipswich, probably leading to a required 24hr rest from broken fingernail surgery, miraculously returning for the trip to Shielfield on Saturday? I saw Ipswich at Somerset a couple of weeks ago, expecting it to be quite a close entertaining meeting - but what I saw, was truly unbelievable... Somerset weren't that good... Ipswich were one of the worst teams I'd seen on the night in all my years of going to speedway... However, they're not as bad a team as they were at the OTA that night. All being said, I don't see Ipswich leaving the Dale tonight with any points but I'm expecting them to give a decent account of themselves... High 30's i'd be predicting... Somewhere around 54-39 I'd go for this evening.
