  1. A google search defines exclude as " deny (someone) access to a place, group, or privilege." Similarly privilege defines as "a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group." So technically they haven't denied access but that really is semantics because showing poor disability awareness and removing the privilege to allow their disabled fans to attend in comfortable circumstances if they're able is exclusion in anyone's book.
  2. No idea and isn't that part of the problem. They haven't said, only mentioned the problems that they seeming didn't try to fix before kicking them out, thereby losing the sympathy vote for at least trying before taking the action the club would slam the EoES for doing (well previous promotions who cared that is). One assumes that it's a fair few or what's the problem with the traditional arrangement and trying deal with the club's organisational gripes and alleged steward abusers?
  3. Sounds logical if your prepared to alienate and lose a section of your fan base along with the associated revenue stream.
  4. Good news is that I've heard from Wealdstone and he's fit and well but just had the enthusiasm kicked out of him by Panthers management. The clubs regressive action against their own disabled fans (even the ones that played ball) amongst other things has left him drained and in need of a rest. I know how he feels and I suspect that he's far from alone.
  5. As I said the Messiah at least kept the thread going. The topic is, make sure that if you know anyone that this might affect then do let them know because they probably don't bother much with speedway sites or internet generally and they'll not find the regressive action on the main local news media. They may not realise that the club has chosen to make their attendance more difficult or impossible, and certainly less pleasurable from 2020 onwards. They may wish to spend their time and money elsewhere. We know of some on here who feel like that and I've seen some saying the same elsewhere so I'm sure that there's more yet to find out who will feel that way, so do get the message out there.
  6. Much like the fans and revenue the club seems happy to lose these days. Strange times indeed.
  7. "Wealdstone has gone very quiet, has he been got at" was the latest tweet
  8. An admission that they made a cock up on kicking out and alienating their disabled customers and have had a rethink for 2020 at the very least.
  9. Sounds like the ideal candidate to carry out Personal Independent Payment assessments. Lot's of horrors stories there regarding assessors who haven't got a scooby about the difficulties that the disabled face, especially when being assessed under controlled circumstances when they can't see its affects as in daily living.
  10. He has though got the page count up and kept the thread prominent, as well as allowing those of us with some understanding of the subject to educate those with a narrower view, so he had his uses although given the ignorance and abuse I'd have sacrificed those benefits. That may have been his strategy all along, it'd take a brave person to work out the logic in that individual.
  11. Not necessarily, even if you can walk the distance but show difficulties around general discomfort for reasons that you define and evidence (whether that be physical and/or mental (anxiety, depression, dementia etc)) as well as potential safety to yourself and others then you may be able to get a BB. In fact the recognition of hidden disabilities was added to the criteria last August. The loons gonna have a helluva job with that - sit back and get some popcorn
  12. They've been asked to clarify whether that related to the disabled tweet or the one about not having a team? But in true notice output only social media fashion we're in tumbleweed mode.
  13. I can't work out whether the loon is against the disabled or making the case for them by skilfully putting up these so called solutions to a self created problem that the club needs to reconsider; rather being known as disability and family unfriendly club that is now happy to alienate and lose supporters under the management he's bigging up for its competence in saving the club and the sport in general.
  14. That's true. As for mental health, never assume that people are ok no matter what their demeanour, and do practice the always ask twice technique when asking if someone is ok. We all say yes as standard for 99% of the time but if you ask again "Are you really ok?" then you may get a different answer. Tragic loss.
  15. Here's an idea (yes I'm still awake before anothor of you hilarious observations), there's plenty of room inside the Showground so how about letting our disabled customers park inside so that intelligencia such as yourself don't have to raid their Viz Top Tips notebook of suggestions?
  16. You really are a 'div' aren't you? But that would clarify the job that you claim to have. Who's Mark Twain? Jeez, ever heard of Google? Your understanding of disabilty is laughable. I said that the petition wasn't the best idea that Neil's ever had, but on reflection, it created a thread that the club shouldn't be proud of in it's 50th year and kept the topic going and ruffled some feathers so fair play to him. I don't know and don't care whether he has an agenda or not, has always be ok with me so I have no problem with him, apart from defending Horton's "please be upstanding for the National anthem". The only relevant bit in Chapman taking over the club is that this uneccesary discussion is taking place. Anything else on that subject deflects from the topic. Anyway, must go because it's work in the morning. You better do likewise because those cardboard dividers won't put themselves into those boxes will they?
  17. I called you ignorant the other day and that's another gem that shows that you should be nowhere near this discussion: Mark Twain: It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.
  18. If BB parking was causing a genuine concern then why not communicate via PA, websites, programme etc first regarding the issues and explain the consequences of ignoring such advice. Between identified problem and draconian solution there is a middle bit of the process that we've totally ignored. Also, were these abusers all BB holders? I suspect not. Why were cars allowed to go left anyway, if that's where the problem was, and not told to go right to the Arena car park as was the known instruction. If cars were incorrectly parked then give out their number and tell them to shift it. Doesn't seem to be a problem to communicate when someone leaves their window open! That doesn't even cost £30. Although most people associate disability with wheelchair it's actually defined in much broader terms these days. Especially, in this instance, ambulant disabled who don't use a wheelchair and can walk but the distance they are comfortable with and the problems associated with that are very much specific to the individual's disability. That's not a go at you but your post was useful background to use
  19. I think you'll find that the club has managed that on their own with their shocking decision to increase their disabled fans already substantial difficulties without trying to manage the internal parking before hiding behind showground designated spaces. I don't see that Neil has used this to further any agenda that he may or may not have against the current management but if they hadn't made this regressive propositition then Neil would just have popped up occasionally as per usual. You probably need to look closer to home for your vitriol. ps you're not unignored btw but as well as appearing on the main page it's also not possible ignore quotes.
  20. Nice thought but I'm not sure that one can deduce that from " a conscious decision to restrict the amount of vehicle movement within the Showground on a race night." - what does that mean? It doesn't mention numbers just movement. I suspect that initially the attempt will be made, and it will appear so if they stick with this appaling decision, to make the internal parking look a bit spartan but as the season progresses I'd guess that those excluded disabled fans' spaces will be filled by sponsors, hangers on and friends of friends. You'll not notice the difference.
  21. Can't disagree with any of that but in terms of protest, when are you let out? Obviously you're in a secure unit for most of the week but if we could all compare calendars then that would be a good starting point
  22. Used to be Plummer didn't it? Not sure if that's still the case but given the content I'd put 50p on that still being the case but wouldn't have him down for that sort of comment usually but perhaps if prompted then who knows? Probably The Messiah or whatever he's called today.
  23. While it's always good that people contribute and look at solution for problems it just deflects from the mess the club has made with this. When the EoES created such a problem and the club had to find solutions then everyone was on board and appreciative. If the club had just introduced BB parking areas outside because there were none before then people would be appreciative and on board. Looking for solutions for a club created problem made without particularly good justification, or seemingly making an attempt to solve the problems that they identified is the real problem here that gets forgotten. There is an an easy solution and if that doesn't work then the club could at least say that they tried as justification. I'm sorry if people feel that I''m a troublemaker or have an agenda. I'm never the most positive and I don't have an agenda (apart from fighting for our disabled fans) but I didn't start this.
