Don't we all, but rather infrequently. Especially in the summer. -

I didn't even remember that it was on, just saw some Twitter post I glossed over. Did anything interesting happen -

I always make excuse for Taps, all year round. -

You've done it now Dick! Flappy with his team a day and Taps posting while under the influence of whatever noxious substance the local shop has in that day. Jeez, roll on March, assuming the correct decision was discussed last week. -
Can you understand a Sausage, Egg & Cheese Bagel please said in Danish? Good effort!

Never heard that one but imagine that Mr Greer and co would have looked at anything that might have worked.

Thought that I read somewhere that we looked at that location (think that there was a moto ball fixture there with the likes of R.Greer participating) when we first started but there were noise issues then so we ended up at the EoES. Shame that Mick Horton's Fengate motorsports complex (remember the ET splash and plans) never got off the ground, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Travel firms use it every school break and hotels close to any event use it etc etc, people gripe but pay it so it's par for the course.

In what way is that encouraging Rodders? I'll give it 2 seasons before it starts to turn into a building site and we have to hope that we're still running and the promise of alternative arrangements are honoured, but surely if there were other options around then we'd have left the EoES years ago anyway. Does that mean we'll have to find a new piece of land and start from scratch? Can't recall that working out too well anywhere else. We can only hope that things don't progress as smoothly and quickly as that plan indicates. As you say though, when developers are involved, hit the panic button.

As usual Rodders, for those of us who don't see the rag you're missing the vital detail. -

I missed that. Sounds quite positive. Without having any idea he would have stopped at "which league" so fingers crossed -

Hopefully not closed down Rodders but just resting like the Norwegian Blue. -

Paper never refuses ink. Chapman already made his and the club's position clear in August so unless something is confirmed externally and officially around that then I wouldn't take too much note of anything else. -
Mork calling Hodgy, are you there Hodgy! Having said that, wasn't the parking charge started when Bratters and Horton were in post to cover the club's SRBF contribution? One wonders if that's where it ended up then or where it ends up these days? I'm sure Bratters will correct me if I'm wrong

It was an end to a means though wasn't it? So his job is done. Johnson has always been the one paid (well perhaps not?) to do all of the work and take all of the blame (or at least be the public face) as was once famously said of a previous TM, so that's all very much in keeping. Interesting that Rodders says that Watson and Rathbone were there. It may be that they were there just out of interest but I'd be more inclined to think that that indicates the direction of travel?

Think that you need to reword that Rodders. It doesn't read too well. It's got me confused! -
It was quite funny though when she then said in Rik Mayall style "Hands Up Who Likes Me" and everyone quickly sat on their hands.

Doesn't sound like a run of the mill part-time fan so we'll leave it there. At least we agree that it's a mess.

Not sure of the point you're trying to make but it's not rocket science to say that there is only one answer to your question. Even if that is because the only way to get the standard that you want to watch is by being a functioning club. As for being mad, everyone else knew what Peterborough was like running at the Showground (although the EoES does appear to have been less than helpful in 2019 - whether fact or fiction only the inner circle know) and everyone knows what not to do so as not to lose the crowd. Home fixtures apart, much of the rest was self inflicted before a wheel was turned and then the bad luck that all teams get just couldn't be compensated for with a weak team. That's the way to lose money. Unfortunately it's pretty clear that the lower tier drop beckons again, never to resurface from those depths, because that's the only way not to potentially lose shedloads unless the EoES plays ball with regular weekly dates, and there's more chance of Jo Swinson saying something intelligent than that happening.
-
Bad management and bad luck has nothing to do with the top league. Given the time limited life for speedway at the EoES who's going to buy out Chapman? If running speedway at the EoES is like chucking money down the bog then who's going to invest knowing that the initial investmest isn't coming back either?
-
Sounds like testing the water and see the reaction. It's been an interesting year so lets go backwards again. Should have read the T&Cs of Rathbone's 5 year plan regarding year 6.
-
I'm well aware all of the detail in the public domain. That says "It is common that with new ownership (of the club) comes a different business model" yet in November Chapman said that he was investing in Peterborough and “Everything stays the same at Ipswich and Peterborough with their management continuing to run the clubs." - no mention of new business model or finances so one assumes that you were working within an agreed business model and the goalposts moved or the mess did indeed start in December with crossed wires and communication problems.
-
Don't usually take the bait but the week is early, I can't remember the last time that we were not told that this is the team that we wanted and they all want to ride for Panthers. On Dec 20 last year I'm sure that management and fans felt that way then. What we've been supporting is the mess that emanated from that time. If Ostrich and Lambert is the answer then I'm buggered if I know what the question is.

True. No thanks.
