Definitely quicker to get to Rybnik from Wroclaw. 2.5 / 3 hours on the train. Bydgoszcz a good 5 hours. Rico

For anyone staying in Poznan after the Leszno GP, this may be of interest to you. It may be possible that we could run a bus in conjunction with our Polish friends, running from Poznan centre to Bydgoszcz for their league match with Daugavpils on 11th May, then returning to Poznan after the meeting. Whilst it is do-able on the train a bus just gives a little more flexibility to the trip. The distance is 80 miles and is estimated to take 2 to 2.25 hours each way. Just interested in rough numbers at the moment to see if it's feasible. Please feel free to add your name and how many are in your group below. Polish First Division Matches scheduled for the day after Leszno GP Gdansk v Rawicz Grudziadz v Ostrow Rybnik v Poznan Bydgoszcz v Daugavpils No Ekstraliga matches are scheduled for Sunday 11th May and Division 2 fixtures don't seem to have been released. The closest one of those listed above by train is Bydgoszcz at around 3hrs. Hmmm. Rico

Finally got round to booking this trip at the weekend and it seems to get cheaper year after year. Ignoring the fact we've decided on a little optional extra night in an old favourite city, the flights from Gatwick on British Airways and 3 nights in the Ibis hotel in Poznan for £132 really can't be sniffed at. Mucho thanks to the great website Skyscanner for opening my eyes to a couple of routes I wasn't aware of and it means very nice flight times and no 6am departures. Rico

I think Nicki was so far ahead of the pack mechanically last season that he'll still have that gap next season and the main race will be between Crump and Adams for second place. After the success of this years trip to the World Under 21 final next year the calendar has thrown up a real treat in that the Grand Prix Challenge meeting will be raced at Zielona Gora the day after the Bydgoszcz GP. What I am proposing is that we run a bus from Bydgoszcz to Zielona Gora on the Sunday and the bus will return via Poznan (in case anyone doesn't want to go all the way back to Bydgoszcz after the meeting) before heading back to Bydgoszcz There would be no reduction in price for anyone who wants to just do one way (which my party is contemplating) or wants to get off in Poznan. I initially looked at the possibility of doing this trip on the train but it really doesn't work as it means a 7am departure from Bydgoszcz, so hopefully the bus would mean we can at least get a few hours sleep. Departure time from Bydgoszcz can't really be established until it's known what time the meeting is at. It's a fair old trek between the 2 cities and according to the rac site should take around 4 hours. So, does this trip sound of use/interest to anyone going along to Bydgoszcz ? If it does can you please pop a note of interest on this thread with an indication of how many would be in your group and if you'd a ) stay over in ZG b ) want dropped in Poznan or c ) go back to Bydgoszcz. Hmmm perhaps, however I'm not sure I'd want to go back to Bydgoszcz on the way back, that is my slight problem. Either stay in Zielona Gora or head back to Poznan is what I'm thinking. Will have to discuss with Pan Jablonski and see what he suggests. Rico

I saw the goats on Michael Palin's programme last night for the first time. After a night out in Poznan it's very rare to have surfaced before mid-day. I wasn't impressed with what I saw on the footage, so I'll probably just take it easy and have my usual lie-ins. All this querying regarding run-offs - does no-one remember the night of Gollob getting decked by Boyce at Hackney. At the end of the meeting Gollob had to have a race-off with Henka Gustafsson for the final qualifying place, which Henka duly won, much to the delight of pretty much the whole stadium. The rules relating to the run-offs have been placed on various threads. Rico

Thanks to a very kind donation of £20 from 2 very good friends of the Pugwash variety the final total is now a nice round £200.
