  1. The Polrail site has gone a bit wonky on me, but I'm sure when I checked previously it wasn't a problem to get back after the meeting. Will check when the site is back working for me and post the train times. Rico
  2. Our group is planning on going along to the Gorzow v Czestochowa match on the Sunday - most likely just going on the train, unless of course there is a large demand for a bus trip for this, then I would consider running something, but tbh it would probably just be easier to go on the train. Special interest in this match for us as THJ will be riding for Gorzow, not to mention getting to see Gollob, Nicki P, Hancock, Holta etc. Gorzow Wlkp is around 2 hours by train from Poznan, with a few trains due to run on the Sunday afternoon. So, I'd say book your return for the Monday Rico
  3. Check the Polrail site Trains from Leszno to Wroclaw after the GP at 2356 arr 0135 or 0300 arr 0432. Rico
  4. Wow - some good derbies in that lot on SWC weekend - Zielona Gora is not too far from Leszno Dave and the atmosphere there would be incredible. Of course Mateusz will tell you the big one is when Bydgoszcz go to the posh new stadium in Torun Looks like a trip to Gorzow after the Leszno GP might be on the cards. Rico
  5. Wouldn't want to put such a high-pressure job on someone with a dodgy ticker. Rico
  6. Was having Nikki on your coach on Friday night not enough HW ? Rico
  7. Aha, well that's someone sat behind me with a name to the face Rico
  8. Thanks for the kind words and to those that have thanked me privately also. I'm glad everything ran fairly smoothly on the day and a huge thanks to Mama for his assistance in getting the trip organised. While the racing wasn't up to much at Zielona Gora I did enjoy the whole day out and was glad to hear that you all got back to your destinations safely. Huge thanks goes to Nikki for sorting vodka for the trip down, definitely made the trip go quicker and to Tommy and his cousin Michal for hosting our group during / after the meeting. It's on my must-do list now, to experience a league match in Zielona Gora - that would be incredible. It was nice to meet all of you - who knows maybe there will be a Road Trip 3, or perhaps something a little different Rico
  9. Everyone, Today I received a request that the bus leaves a bit earlier than we originally planned (from the coach company). I've had to say no to this as there may be some that won't pick up the message at this late stage, however I would ask you all to be at the departure point as early as possible as the intention will be that the buses depart at 11.30am at the latest. As soon as everyone is there we will go, or 11.30am. Whichever is the later. I could have done without receiving this message (as I like my sleep, especially after a Saturday night in Bydgoszcz), but if we can all be there in good time, things will go as smoothly as possible. Cheers Rico
  10. Hi Lawrence, I only have a note of the contacts for each group - I've found it hard enough to keep track of them without keeping a note of 90 odd. Can't wait to cach up with you Friday. Cheers Rico
  11. Final details re the trip have now been e-mailed out to the main contacts for each group. I do need a reply to the message please. The most important details are Departure point will be the City Hotel @ 11.30am next Sunday. If you haven't received the e-mail please let me know asap. Rico
  12. Had to think twice about it, but I guess she can come along. Rico
  13. Due to problems with their airline unfortunately this has meant that 21 people have had to pull out of the trip. http://www.pb.pl/Default2.aspx?ArticleID=f...68-e521aeeaa6c9 - very unfortunate with the timing of this decision. If anyone else is interested, then there is now some spare capacity on the bus. Rico
  14. Hi Toutmaster, The key to this is when filling out the form that you agree to pay the bank charges applied at the other end as well - when I've paid money to Poland previously I've not had to worry about this, but it was something that they included in the small print of the e-mail from the club. I have every sympathy with the problems some of you have had with this and hopefully all will be resolved. Rico
  15. JSR, I'd suggest e-mailing the club and explaining that you'll pay the additional 40zl on pick up as it would actually cost you around 180 zl (£25 charge this end plus another 40zl at the other end), plus the 40zl charge. I ended up taking a firm stance with a hotel who wanted me to pay a small deposit for a room - and they saw the sense in my comments. Sorry a few of you are having hassle re the tickets - I was contemplating doing the stadium tickets as part of the buses, but as they didn't get released till so late in the day I decided against it. I hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction. If you don't get your message across to the club I'd suggest contacting Tommy on here by pm and I'm sure he'll try and assist where possible. Rico
  16. Stick them in a hostel http://www.bydgoszcz.eu/turystyka/noclegi/ Rico
  17. No worries Trev - that was one of the reasons for highlighting the cheques received and updating it as and when they arrived to make sure if anyone's cheque had gone into the black hole of the Royal Mail, they could at least see that I hadn't received it. Thanks for letting me know - see you soon. Rico
  18. According to their website coverage starts at 5pm on Sky Sports 2, which would mean the transmission is indeed live as Latvia is currently 2 hours ahead of UK time. Rico
  19. Just a gentle reminder to those UK based peeps that aren't shown as paid yet on page 1 that I would appreciate receiving payment by 31st August. Today I will be going to the bank to deposit the cheques received thus far. I know some have had problems receiving the e-mail I sent out previously, but I have used the PM system on here to forward details on to anyone who indicated they have not received the e-mail. A further update will be sent out (and confirmation of doing so placed on this forum) once I have spoken with Mama upon his return from his holiday. One thing I will point out is that Mama has suggested that we leave at the earlier time of 11.30am, just to make sure we can have a nice relaxing journey down to Zielona Gora with some stops on the way. All details will be confirmed in writing to the point of contact for each group in advance of the trip though, but I thought I would make you aware of this as I know one party are travelling over from Torun in the morning, in case that makes a difference to your train time. Also, I am considering suggesting a different departure point, but want to discuss this with Mama first (nb it's not outside my hotels front door ). As I said though all details will be confirmed in advance though. Regards Rico
  20. Toutmaster, Tommy will be able to answer your query re tickets on the day best. From our groups perspective and after our experience in Ostrow last year, we've taken the train of thought that having reserved seats is the wisest method. We know we just need to turn up and collect our tickets on the day and walk in to our reserved seats. Last year we arrived around an hour before the start of the Under 21 final, collected our tickets (pre-booked) to find the stadium absolutely jam-packed and we all had differing struggles to gain a decent vantage point. This year, taking into consideration the length of journey to get there at least pre-booking seats removes that particular concern and we can just look forward to watching some top class speedway with a good view. Rico ps e-mail sent to Scorekeeper tonight in reply to yours - let me know if you don't get it.
  21. You'll be able to throw things at the people who have paid 1000zl (circa £250) for their SuperVIP tickets from your seats in Sektor C, they're right behind you. I'm sure they'll just throw their prawn sandwiches and champagne bottles back down on you. Rico
  22. One has to hope that they will take this into account when accepting international payments. Tommy, would you be able to check this out, otherwise the club is going to have a few annoyed foreign clients There has to be some leeway when booking this kind of thing. Rico
  23. The way I've done an IBAN payment before was going into a branch of my bank, request making an IBAN payment. They should then fill the form out for you and confirm how much you need to pay to get the equivalent in zloty. There will doubtless add their own charge on top of it. It's not a particularly cheap method of transferring money, but unfortunately they won't allow payment by card. There are other ways of getting the money there, but the above was reasonably easy to do. If you know any Poles who send money back to Poland it may be worth speaking to them to see if they have an easier/cheaper way to do it. As I mentioned in previous instruction, please make sure and put your reservation number as the reference on the payment. Rico
