Sheffield V Belle Vue Colts 6thoct
tigerblues replied to boston five's topic in National League Speedway
Hopefully the weather can make its mind up one way or another, if it's on and off in Sheffield it'll be difficult to decide whether to run the meeting, personally I think they won't call it off unless absolutely necessary. -
Greg Hancock World Champion
tigerblues replied to Dogstar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Congratulations Greg. Never imagined last year that he would be in this position but he's been superb this year, so happy that he's sealed a 2nd title. Funny that when Emil burst onto the scene there was talk of this "new guard" taking over and all it seems to have done it spur the old boys on -

Darcy Ward Wild Card Torun Gp
tigerblues replied to Zetters's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nice one, go Darcy! As said maybe playing down the hype by saying he doesn't feel quite ready but if he can put on a good show here who knows? Think he'd be good enough over a full season to do what Holder did last year but in any case it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. -

Troy Batchelor
tigerblues replied to iNikeAguero's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
After Darcy's interview it was pretty obvious what Troy had to do, though I'm not sure he meant to nearly end up on the centre green Terrible from Boyce, don't know what he was waiting for, he had some good opportunities to use it a lot earlier. -

I haven't looked to quote it but I'm sure I've read on here today that there were over 43000 there Fully agree with what SCB said about the event in any case. -

Forgot to mention this, I thought the band were excellent. Enjoyed them far more than I enjoyed Stacey Solomon. -

Very enjoyable day in Cardiff yesterday as usual. Had a few quid on Fred and KB both 33/1, so bit disappointed with that, especially when the latter broke the tapes in a very winnable semi-final, but pleased with the winner. Hopefully Greg can take the title this year, but as already mentioned with GPs in Poland yet to come, there's time for it all to change again. Could get interesting but I do hope Greg is crowned champion at the end of it all. Some excellent racing I thought. Nicki was hard in the final but this is the GP! Was pleased Tai got his chance and he did well there, his time at GP level will come I'm sure. Scotty and Bomber less impressive. And finally, well done Magnus Zetterstrom. That was the Zorro I love to see, when he's enjoying himself and you can't go wrong with a few donuts and his dancing. A real fans' rider. Thanks for the entertainment -
Is this the same Lewis Bridger who was moaning in the Speedway Star a couple of months ago about how he hasn't got any English friends in speedway and gets on with the Aussies much better? He really should just get his head down and do his talking on the track.

Cardiff Parking
tigerblues replied to james1234's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We've had good experiences with the park and ride, always found it easy to get to with the signs and been able to park quite easily, we usually arrive at around 1pm ish. Suppose there will be cheaper options within walking distance of the stadium rather than relying on a bus but it's been very handy for us in the last 3 years. -
So happy to see Greg get the win here, fully deserved. Congratulations to him and hope he keeps it going. I do like Kelvin Tatum, but I think Stekkers has been a nice change tonight. Some good commentary from him and I hope he is in the Sky team in future GPs. Knowledgable guy. Pretty dire stuff otherwise though.

Worthy winner tonight in Nicki, looks back to his best, very aggressive and up for it this year, great stuff from him. Love him or hate him, on form he spices things up no end. Not bad racing in the end although the track wasn't ideal but some good action in parts, Lindgren in heat 19 was brilliant, super ride from him. Greg also showed great form and it's good to see him get off to a good start, and Holder was unlucky to miss out on 9. Bomber left himself too much to do after his 1st 2 rides I think but a steady start getting points on the board and hopefully there is more to come. Think the series could definitely get interesting this year! -
Nathan Greaves & Robert Lambert

Do you know how old he is? He looks very impressive, even more so if he has only just started riding the Sheffield track -
Great news, Cooperman is a superb team man and will be good for the younger riders to have around. Of course if he can come back from his injuries ok he should get plenty of points in too. Would have hated to see him without a team place. Also good for the Sheffield fans who will be taking in these meetings, of course Ashley will be in the team but Coops is such a favourite at Sheffield, they will both add a lot of interest.

Surely, when Pepe pulled out of 1 GP (unless through injury) he pulled out of them all. Davey's probably had a GP where he's not quite fancied the track but has still turned up when required and given it 100% and has actually done pretty well, yet Pepe's seen the last GP, one of the biggest on a track he probably knows and likes, and suddenly wants in again. Shocking IMO.

Yes, last night like yourself and also the last time speedway was on red button, with absolutely no problems in between so must be to do with the red button. Very annoying. -
Croatian Gp
tigerblues replied to score keeper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Harris was absolutely superb today, and the best rider on show IMO. Proving that he can actually look like a world class rider.. I just wish he could do that every GP! Greg was also superb, fantastic to see both in the top 8 as things stand. Good to see Crump getting a few points on Gollob and Hampel.. Freddie Lindgren was in good form, and he looked much more relaxed than usual.. could well be coincidence but I think he's loving his GP rides without the pressure. The referee didn't have a great meeting to be fair, stopping the AJ/Crump clash was odd.. and I'm still wondering how Gollob kept his point after taking Holta's leg away. Pedersen and Andersen were poor, AJ still not in form at all and Bjerre has gone well off it, and looks a shadow of the rider who was at one stage leading the world. The top 8 still looks exciting, close, and with the riders who could miss out and have to rely on a nomination, a big name could well miss out next year, could be pretty interesting. -

tigerblues replied to Mateusz's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Congratulations to Poland.. tight throughout but I think the best team won. I'm not a big fan of Gollob's but my god that man can't half ride a bike. Hampel and Holta were great back up for him too. Thought it was a really good meeting, some fantastic racing and close scores and last heat deciders definitely add to that. Iversen's stunning moves to grab a race win on the line was speedway at its best and will stick in the mind for a long time to come. Despite the result, the Brits tried as hard as they could and were in the mix and in with a chance to the end.. I thought Bomber was absolutely superb and Richardson got some important points in. I was impressed with Tai who did well and I thought he was really in the mix. Shame Scotty wasn't at his best as we could really have got up there, and sadly in this company Steady did struggle but the effort and passion was there and as disappointing as you could find 4th, there was no lack of effort. I did say after Monday Rob Lyon had won me over and he was the man for the job, I was disappointed with his decisions regarding the Joker.. but then hindsight is a wonderful thing, all ifs and buts but you've got to wonder where we'd have got with success in that department. Thought all refereeing decisions, bar one, were bang on.. heat 3 was all 4 back, every day of the week in my eyes.. but other than that nothing too controversial. -
