  1. I think this tie is nicely balanced. The Colts are strong at home but they've not been tested and having this deficit should give them something to think about.
  2. Makeshift Colts keeping it close but I think they'll run out of stream towards the end.
  3. When Jason Doyle fell during the previous TV match I thought there's a rider that once he improves his skill and throttle control he'll go a long way.
  4. Was always going to be the case after the rain off. Run Thursday and screw wolves. Run Monday and (slightly) screw BT. Run Friday and screw Belle Vue and get double bubble as it screws the Colts. No brainer for the powers that be, win win in fact.
  5. 8 riders injured or withdrawn following crashes over the last 8 meetings. Whether it's the riders, the bikes, the track surface or shape, it needs discussing. Putting your hands over your ears and humming is a slap in the face to those injured riders and more importantly those who will suffer the same fate in the future. It's not about blame or a mine's bigger than your's contest, it's about rider safety.
  6. I'd like the sport to be run on fair racetracks where the lads can strut theirs stuff safety for the benefit of the viewing public and win or lose accordingly. Pipe dream but why? If the Belle Vue can do it why not else where??
  7. Seven withdrawals due to crashes in the last eight meetings with Bewley injured in the other one. If it's just one of those things that happen anywhere them I see no way forward for the sport in this country with riders out every meeting, it's not worth it. If it's not the norm then Monmore we need answers? Result secondary for me as I just want all 14 lads safe. Bewitcher, Beowulf, Call me wolfie and Stevebrum please don't tell me again that I'm a tool, I'm aware of your opinion and I ignore it but if you have any answers......
  8. Must admit that the revelation that the sport of speedway allows rules to be broken without punishment pretty much does it for me. It was hanging by a thread to be honest, I even gave the PLRC a miss tonight being a BSPA event. My season ticket is all used up and so is my desire to carry on with this once wonderful sport. Up the aces and tat tar.
  9. I bet Kennett wishes his silencer shenanigans was more recent as nowadays he'd be ok. I'm not a fan of the new rules but if that's the case then we'll have to live with it.
  10. Exactly. It's as I pointed out when Poole beat us by breaking the rules. Loads of people said the race was run the result recorded with no protest before the following race(s), so the result cannot be amended. This was the exact scenario when Kennett had the illegal silencer. The rule breaking was reported after the whole meeting was completed but the points were removed and the result amended. The ONLY thing stopping this being put right is the same as last time and that's the fact that Belle Vue are involved.
  11. Easy one this, whatever results in a loss for Belle Vue would be the chosen route. This tie is still live as it is being run over 30 heats so any protest is still current, not that right will help our cause though.
  12. This will be like the Poole tie when they broke the rules to beat us. Any announcement will wait until after the second leg and should Swindon win the tie handsomely then the points will be deducted with a fanfare of how things have to be done properly. If The Aces keep it too close for comfort then as with the play off final back then it will be ignored.
  13. No we didn't. It's all about if your face fits and ours hasn't for decades. This will be no different, the deficit will remain at 11 whatever our manager does.
  14. When we didn't print Peter Ravn's name in the programme whilst using R/R it's a matter of fact that we got chucked out of the tie we'd just won.
  15. Aces look good if they ever bring back a top division 4TT
  16. Heat 14 was the last race to correct their error. I'd imagine it will be amended to 3-3 but hey it's Belle Vue so let's let it slide. Never changes.
  17. The unlucky Aces really missed their Cumbrian duo points scoring but should our luck change and we get past Wolves then a full team should have no worries in the final. I'm gonna pray we have no luck then it's game on.
  18. The thing that's coming over loud and clear is that play off matches see riders giving 100%. I cannot argue with that after witnessing my first ever play off at the NSS last year. It was one of my most enjoyable nights of speedway in nearly half a century of watching the sport. The flip side is that other meetings are run with riders not giving their all, I can't argue with that either and this is the problem. Years ago many teams knew from day one that they weren't going to top the table but the pecking order especially with local rivals was still a focus. Riders wanted to perform for THEIR club no matter what and fans wanted to watch them. Your place in the table was as important at the last meeting as it was for the first. Now you either qualify or you don't. Fans now have a mental benchmark for what is "good" speedway, speedway worth going out for. The inevitable consequence of this is they can feel (most) other meetings just aren't worth the bother. The question is does the extra? attendance immediately before and during play offs make up for the rest of the year?
  19. Looks like a no mate. I'd have been interested in an answer.
  20. Yes, but that's not the point. If I nicked your car I'm guessing you wouldn't be bothered as long as eventually I was to give it back anyway?
  21. Please post a link for us to read re Sir Richard Leese, otherwise stop posting bulls droppings. Where's my heather?
