  1. To not go on Wednesday due to the fact a rider got injured at weekend and you don't like his stand in is horrid.
  2. Having Lambert at reserve should keep the other four on their toes so they are not replaced. The other good thing is you can make use of the good gates and weak heats when considering the joker.
  3. Not far off now. Is it worth buying in advance as there has been a lot of odd call offs at the Norfolk arena lately. What's the start time as Busters meetings tend to drag on over many hours? Will the gage fence be in place or will it be taken down to give a better view, drives me mad trying to watch through that? Some Lynn fans have mentioned about the dirt used being for stock cars and that it's no good for speedway. I'm guessing a race track will be laid a la Cardiff to provide some racing? Will our team be Cook (Workington) King (Ipswich) Worrall (Newcastle) Worrall or Lawson (Glasgow) Lambert (Newcastle) or will Nicholls & Harris get a look in?
  4. Pleasant surprise and very nice of the Poole team to donate one of their points. Bolstered by Batchelor & Bates I couldn't see past a Poole three pointer in fact I was 1 point off in my points prediction. A good start by The Aces saw the dreaded tactical come into play and after our mid meeting lull I thought that was that. Looking at the programme Batchelor or Bates we're in all of the last few heats as of course Batchelor was going to be in heat 15 with a disappointing Hans left out. Some remarkable racing from the Belle Vue boys with Kenneth and Dan being the stand out. Passing didn't seem as easy and this played into the gate and go pirates hands bring use to Wimborne Rd. I'd just like to say I wish the pirates all the luck in the world with regards to injuries and look forward to a full and fit Poole team for their next visit. I'm just glad to see the back of Batchelor & Bates for now.
  5. The inclusion of Hans will certainly put some Poole fans off travelling. 8/5 and 6/5 from his previous visits doesn't inspire confidence but this is off set by strengthening with Batchelor and Bates. If any Poole fans are now thinking of giving it a miss, don't, the racing will be an eye opener.
  6. Since we beat them in the KO Cup Poole haven't scored less than 43 points in any match and sit nicely in second place in the table. Belle Vue currently out of the play off zone with two unconvincing wins and losses to unfancied Somerset. They look there for the taking by any opponent but against a strong Poole side, it should be a walk in the park for the pirates. I'm just looking forward to my speedway fix plus the usual good racing. No home advantage may be our undoing results wise but it certainly seems to add to the spectacle with every racer being in with the chance of a win. Aces 43 Poole 47 ☹️️ Bjerre 13 Batchelor 13
  7. Go Poole. I was willing you on tonight but it will be a different story on Friday. The joys of being a speedway fan. Well done guys.
  8. I'm happy with last night. Six Aces turned up and six came away safe. That's rule number one in my book and how they go about achieving that is down to them. Even with this result we're still ahead of our points target, if you win all your home matches and pick up a point away you finish on 56 and you qualify. Working on that we should be on 16 so as I say above target. I can't begrudge the rebels their win after the start they have endured and just hope they maintain this focus going forward. Craig needs to have a word with himself though. He seems to think everywhere should be like the NSS where come rain or shine you can strut your stuff at full welly. He's kidding himself, these tracks up and down the country need to be ridden and complaining about inadequacies in the racing surface is pointless (literally) and can have an adverse effect on the whole team vibe. Suck it up I say as it's not the first and won't be the last track he's not satisfied with.
  9. Steve is one of the few riders who could get away with being in two places at once.
  10. This is one for the BSPA to decide as it could go either way but with being in this position due to the BSPA you'd have thought the decision would have gone our way. Then you remember it's Belle Vue so their decision now makes total sense. Something's never change. RR should be fine with Craig, Kenneth, Justin and Dan all having an extra ride. Oh and Dan needs to go in heat 1.
  11. TBH with little or no home track advantage any team can fancy their chances at the NSS if they go for it. Should be another cracker. Any Swindon fans still undecided about supporting their team don't make the same mistake as the rebels fans and get up here.
  12. It put me in mind of the Steve Worrall and Stefan Nielsen signings when Rosco stole a march on his rivals to bag David. He certainly knows a thing or two.
  13. Except for The Aces. We've always been very accommodating with regards fixture changes but it's rarely reciprocated.
  14. Kelvin is being interviewed in the Craven suite before the meeting at 7.00
  15. New for this year..., a) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture 1st priority to the owner of the rider c) 2nd priority to the previous season club d) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member.
  16. Riding for the Comets If Kenneth qualifies for the SEC I think is will be re arranged.
  17. If there's a few fans like chris4gillian could you make yourself known to me. I'll sell you a ticket just near the entrance on match day to save you the mither of rain offs etc at the full price you would rather pay. If I can get enough of you it will pay me in at £1.50 profit a time.
  18. Excellent that and it saves money as well.
  19. Probably not the best team to pick to make a point given how Belle Vue run their teams but in general you're correct about other teams hiring and firing without any loyalty shown
  20. Lee didn't blame the track as he didn't need to. After his first race retirement he only dropped a point until his last ride where he was happy to sit in third to secure the three match points after Davey got spat off. It was our two 15 year old reserves that struggled, understandably. They need to experience tracks like this during their speedway education. They can probably take some solace in the fact that Stokes 1 & 3 also experienced difficulties toward the end of the night. Enjoyable night with my only gripe being no programmes after 6.35. If anyone has one they don't want I'd happily call over and get it.
  21. I'd say he didn't realise that Lee was eligible for R/R. He must have though Jack was third in our averages and not Rob. I would have checked before looking a chum in front of everyone. I can't think of anything else.
  22. The Colts did their own impromptu victory parade by walking into the crowd to chat with fans, have photos and sign autographs. Well received by all. Malcolm didn't grab anyone, he just gestured to Lee and the referee. My opinion of Stoke as a venue is that as a sport beggars can't be chooses and I'd rather have them stage speedway than not. Having said that I think the track should be right whatever the surroundings.
