  1. But Scotland helped crank up the debt? It'll be up for negotiation, it won't be used as a threat.
  2. I hope it isn't the man in bold, if it is I can't believe he'd have the cheek to try again. Anyway, I'll hold my hands up as you will know more about the commercial running of speedway more than I'll ever know. Fingers crossed you'll be making the trip to brum again next season (be good to catch up again ) the good news is both fanchises working together for one goal. Just for food for thought though, Tony Mole bought the rights to Birmingham Speedway while it was at the wheels project and he closed it at the end of the season. Someone somewhere may have done the same when Milton Keynes folded.
  3. This is the reason why I love speedway. Not just for the excitment of racing, but the way fans want to help out at every opportunity.
  4. I would have thought that if the MDL team were leasing the name "knights" and they would have had permission from the BSPA to run a speedway franchise, then the BSPA would be aware of that set up. Then in another conversation the new separate promotion have had talks with the BSPA to open a new track. Therefore in conclusion the BSPA must have known both parties. Unless I'm missing something?
  5. Yes it is a bit confusing isn't it. Someone somewhere owns the rights/licence to run Milton Keynes Speedway possibly since it's demise in 1993, but, not necessarily the rights to use the term "Milton Keynes knights" as this appears to be owned by someone else (the chapmans maybe?). It does appear odd why one didn't know of the others existance, as they both must be known by the BSPA.
  6. Apart from the copper being there, everything went to plan really. You played a big part in the planning Peter and I know everyone is very grateful for the "James Bond" style surveillance you put forward lol.
  7. Interesting. So who previously did you think had these skills? Do I assume it's the people you mentioned in your previous post?
  8. Nigel speaks some sense when it comes to the concept of selling speedway in Birmingham. When you have Poole who have been going for yonks, Wolverhampton who have been going for yonks along with Cov, then there is Birmingham where most of the city can't remember it. So perhaps those in Birmingham judge it against all other current attractions that are perhaps more with it and upto date. If speedway feels twenty years out of date, the new fans won't come back in their droves.
  9. Promoters are already being hit in the pockets by dwindling attendances. That should be enough to kick off a change in direction. If they aren't changing now, then a boycott certainly isn't going to work.
  10. What brought that on? Not that I'm complaining...
  11. I'll buy BlueJam a beer anytime, he knows that, but I don't think he'll be at the meeting. Suprised you don't know him, BlueJam is a global phenomenom amongst speedway fans. A really nice guy too.
  12. You going? If the bar is open, yes I'll buy you one.
  13. Keep up. I thought you were a Brummie speedway fan Stan. Showing your true colours now
  14. You've heard of the fighting fund surely? Being managed by the Supporters Club? Do you want the details?
  15. Have you spoken to Sue Connop? I think you should be on the committee. You seem to have some excellent ideas. I could pass you her number?
  16. It would go into the supporters club account Peter. Just like the current fighting fund. It would then be up to the supporters club, upon guidence from long term sponsors (we've had an offer already after your call for a sponsor to come forward), as to what is the best direction for the funds. We've even been offerred free tea and coffee and use of their offices for this purpose. Like RedandYellow says, people do really care for the club and as a team, we can win this.
  17. I think it's a fantastic idea. Any stone shouldn't go unturned in the fight for long term speedway at Perry Barr.
  18. http://www.acu.org.uk/events/april-2014/guernsey-motor-cycle-car-club-southern/track-grass-track-long-track/vazon-bay-guernsey-acu41336.aspx I found this. has contact details for you.
  19. Being a business reliant on gate money probably needs to change. Get the evening streamed onto pc's at home for a much reduced fee per meeting or something. It needs to get into the home, but the BSPA need to benefit from the cash, not a third party provider.
  20. A starter for ten. Perhaps if attendance figures were released a promotion could only build a team with that income in mind averaged over a season?
  21. Thanks for the pish take, but it was genuine.
