  1. All booked finally - flights hotel and tickets. And seated back on turn 1 again. Couldnt be doing with turn 4 - far to mucky!!!
  2. so you have one month to teach us how to navigate the site as its in your native tounge
  3. For some that maybe okay, but for others such as me I most definately want to stay well within the box. Many of us spend hours in the car up and down the country following our speedway teams so Cardiff is about parking the car on Friday lunchtime, checking in and relaxing for two and a half days. For us Cardiff is not only a speedway meeting but a social occassion to meet up with fellow fans who you dont get the opportunity to see during the year. For example - Nevs from Exeter, Pammie from Scotland plus a few more other suspicious characters . These are the guys you may only see once a year and we love either having a meal with them, a drink in the POW or aussie Bar and catching up on old times. SO for me - I think I'll stay well within the box ta.
  4. Really pleased it all went well for him Nevs. Say hi for us. And yep - I think even I would use my Cardiff fund for something like that - but dont tell my daughters I have other kids out there somewhere!!!
  5. If you want to join in the Pizza club you are more than welcome!! But its gonna cost ya!!! and sorry Nevs - but our organising of Cardiff is bringing the thread back up to the top all the time so stop your whinging!!! Oh and the car isnt important they can organise an Ann Summers party or something - could be a blast!!!
  6. Not quite as many as that but I was thinking, maybe next year we just block book the whole hotel and sort out an Invite only list!!! One HUGE party!!!
  7. Yes - but Shazz is our travel agent and her commission is a bottle of vodka. She's sooooo cheap!!!!!
  8. No Im off to bed soon!!!! But hoping there will be re-runs when I get up. Give us a wave Steve!!!! And Go Gino, Chris, Tyson, Kenny, Eddie, RIcky and all the others!!!!! LOL
  9. We stayed in Udine (edge of) and the hotel was lovely. You do need a car, in my opinion, to do this tour justice. You can either drive in or get a taxi into the town. But our problem was finding open restaurants in the evening. Maybe it was a language thing but all we could find were coffee shops and bars. We did eventually find places but it was a bit of a strain. A taxi to the stadium was going to cost £30+ and we were told it would be difficult make sure there was one there at the end to bring us back. After the actual meeting some others in our hotel tried to get a taxi and couldn't get one. Luckily they had connections so returned to the hotel in a riders van and other vehicles!! We flew into Venice Treviso and it wasnt too long a journey. I would however consider going somewhere different this year to stay. But not sure where yet.
  10. If my working outs are correct the final positions are: Chris Holder 56 Troy Batchelor 55 Darcy Ward 51 Rory Schlein 48 Cory Gathercole 40 Ty Proctor 39 Jason Doyle 37 Justin Sedgmen 34 Cameron Woodward 34 Sam Masters 30 Josh Auty 26 Alex Davies 22 Mark Lemon 20 Robert Ksiezak 15 Josh Grajczonek 9 James Holder 8 Job done for rory, thats all he went home for was a qualifing place. Unlucky to Troy but its three rounds and you have to do it in all 3. But congratulations to Chris Holder - Aussie Champion. Just suprised that Shovlar hasnt started a new thread for his Poole Buddy!!!
  11. The Australian Titles are a MUST for those who want to progress through to the GP Qualification series. BUT - there are obviously the likes of Crump who are there already and Adams who has stepped down from them. It costs a lot of money to ship bikes and fly home every year and if you feel you have 'been there and done that' then maybe the 'oldies' have decided to just rest. For British and European riders, if they have had a knock at the end of the last season then they have 4 months to heal but these Ozzie chaps have to ride through it. Looks like after round 1 that the excitement hasnt been lost by the missing riders, looks like a good competition hotting up.
  12. The Gillman meeting starts at 7.30pm (Australian time) therefore that calculates to: 8.30am UK time. (I think - ran out of fingers and had to start using my toes!!!)
  13. Of course I dont remember - it was more than one sleep ago!!!!!! And your right - updates could possibly be made a lot easier (for you yougsters) by updating direct from the track. Also why does someone need to MSN you Sue when you could probably just get them to update the site direct. Could save a lot of troubles when you yourself have said how busy life is with the kids and study. This way you could just sit back and watch the results come in the same as the rest of us. Just a thought!
  14. I think I will be happy to just stick at reading the updates if thats okay Bryn!
  15. Skype is excellent. Its one of the ways Lynette Schlein and I keep the speedway gossip flowing even though we are thousands of miles apart. I dont have a posh phone hence the question - can you skype from a mobile? As for Holders competition I would love to say Rory Schlein. And under normal circumstances I would be shouting that aloud BUT - Roo has been very poorly in recent months (an after affect of his Ipswich 16 lapper injury) so unless he gets some strength from some good aussie steaks I am just praying he makes it through with a ticket for GP qualifiers. He wont have time for jet lag either as he has only just arrived home in Australia in the the last 24hours. Looking forward to following this and I too am sad that Freemantle arent covering - so much passion on the radio, I will miss that!
  16. In years gone by Phil had a couple fo brilliant threads running about travel info for all those off into Europe for GP's and WTC meetings. But the info is now possibly outdated. With Mod approval I have started a thread for each 2010 location to assist all of us heading out this coming season. These threads will be made sticky's so easy to find. Please use it to ask / answer and questions about Flights / accomodations / trains / taxi's/ trams / Event tickets etc. Hopefully this will keep all questions to one thread and make our trips a lot simpler to plan.
  17. Haywood Its not easy to navigate but hope this helps: BRITISH FANS - Click here (Bottom right hand corner) TICKET TYPE - Click on 'order' on the value you are looking at paying. TYPE NUMBER OF TICKETS - in the quantity box NOW - it should make sense. The blocks on the stadium plan should now match the ticket types. And you still havent bought anything!!!! Hope thats what your looking for
  18. But Shawn Harmuteck was more than happy to wake up in the morning and find breakfast in his van!!!!
  19. Agree 5pm a good time. Time to do all we want to do BEFORE the GP but also an early start allowing us to get back to the hotel and have plenty of bevvies and our 'party' after the GP. But note to self - Dont order so much pizza this time!!!!!
  20. whilst others will watch any football on at all during World Cup month.
