  1. It looks like Gollob had something to say about the track last night on his website - looked like he thought it dangerous to me.
  2. If it's anything like the screaming imbecile's, adverse comment will be removed.
  3. There should only have been two riders on the podium. There was no third place rider. It's just silly to suggest otherwise.
  4. Indeed. Only thing is, I'm beginning to think Kelvin Tatum MBE is an even more annoying cretin than the screaming imbecile. One minute he's saying Leigh Adams moved out and will be "lucky to get away with that" and the next he's crucifying the referee for excluding Adams.
  5. You had to feel sorry for BP. And question the sanity of Kelvin Tatum MBE when he stated that Adams (and by implication BP) had drifted off his line. Who the hell had drifted most? Nicki P started a foot from the safety fence and ended up clipping a rider about a yard away from the white line. If I'd been refereeing, I'd have called all four back first time around, giving Nicki P the benefit of the doubt, then concluded Nicki P was extracting the urine and excluded him in the BP one.
  6. It's just such a shame that no one thought to invite the great Hunter S Thompson to cover the Grand Prix series while he was alive. I can just imagine Ole Olsen coming across as the epitomy of evil; a monster with a mind full of treachery and a heart full of hate.
  7. Never. Everyone fears him. He'll probably still be dictating the course of speedway from beyond the grave.
  8. As far as I'm aware, referees are appointed by the FIM, which, in practice, probably means the uber-golem Olsen. But Tomaz Pozrl is the expert when it comes to the FIM.
  9. Dear Jerzy Szczakiel would've been proud of Jonsson's starts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufP5T64GNzk Nicki P would've been less than impressed if the referee had followed the example in the above.
  10. That was one of the more baffling things about the night. Tatum initially said Adams would be lucky to get away with it and then the next thing you know he's going on about what a terrible decision it was and how hard done to Adams was.
  11. I was trembling a bit tonight, I have to be honest. I stared my worst nightmare in the face; the British champion winning a GP. But, as it turned out, he didn't let me down. However, to be fair to the fellow, he rode very well tonight. But I have grave doubts about whether either Kelvin Tatum MBE or Middlo made a material difference - he always does reasonably well at Cardiff.
  12. Did it really need asked three times? Yes, Marek Wojaczek regularly takes charge of Polish fixtures. I don't think he's too popular there either.
  13. But Copenhagen is generally a decent enough track. Why can't they replicate that at Cardiff?
  14. I guess that means that young Wojaczek doesn't indulge in beer.
  15. I've been saying the Cardiff track is a disgrace for years. And now presumably we have a Grand Prix with an empty space on the podium, since Nicki P can hardly lay claim to third place.
  16. That's a plus point, if you ask me. Danish or Polish commentary can hardly be worse than the screaming imbecile, can it?
  17. And here's the word according to young Shovlar last season: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...35495&st=30 Post No 33.
  18. Thank you, young Nevs, enjoy your day. And the same to everyone attending.
  19. Very true, young Nevs. And every year the crowd is always given as being 40,000. Edit: What has happened to Nevs' post? Did I imagine it? Am I finally going barmy?
  20. Things certainly seem to be going the way of Grzegorz Walasek. The final of the Polish qualification process was held at his home track in Poland (Zielona Gora), his quarter-final was held on a track where he rode for many years (Czestochowa), his semi-final is being held on his home track in Sweden (Motala) and the final is being held on his home track in Poland (Zielona Gora, again).
  21. Lindback would be an interesting choice and one that I'd be inclined to consider if there were still reserves in the SWC. But, there aren't, so not worth the risk, in my opinion. He'd have been a good shout for the reserve position.
  22. By the way, I think you'll find Hans Andersen is the current Danish champion, not Nicki P.
  23. Current Polish champion is, of course, Rune Holta.
