  1. I'd keep an eye on the usual suspects if I were you - with a Polish winner they're bound to have some photographs posted: http://www.sportowefakty.pl http://www.przegladzuzlowy.pl Good idea to pop in now and check the reports of Zabiks win so that you now what to look for in the galleries (I think it's IMSJ).
  2. And it's a bit of a "free-for-all" when it comes to riders for the final, with the Russian side usually drafting in expensive overseas riders for the event. Last season, Unia Tarnow didn't even bother sending a "proper" side to Russia for the meeting - no Gollobs, no Kolodziej, no Rickardsson, just a few juniors and Stanislaw Burza and Robert Wardzala. Obviously with the final being held in Tarnow this season, they took it a bit more seriously.
  3. It hardly means the same as the Champions League in football - in fact, it's a bit of a joke. But Tarnow were crowned European champions this evening. And here's how they did it: http://www.przegladzuzlowy.pl/news_index.php?id=1089888679 A full house for Tomasz Gollob, with good support from Kolodziej and Wroclaw's Hans Andersen. Interesting to note that following last year's horror crash involving Sergey Darkin, the contest seems to have been reduced to four teams and four man races. Altogther far more sensible, in my view.
  4. Congratulations to Karol Zabik on his win and Christian Hefenbrock on third. I'd offer congratulations to Antonio Lindback on his silver medal, but I doubt he sees it as anything to be congratulated for. Lindgren mighty unlucky to get himself excluded in the final. But such things happen when everything turns towards sudden death.
  5. Lindgren excluded from the final after taking a tumble.
  6. And Miedzinski leading Lindgren when Holder took his tumble.
  7. Dzikos - who is doing the updating for przegladzuzlowy - is giving translations on the Live Updates thread. Miedzinski and Zabik did both take a tumble in Ht 1 and then a tapes malfunction caused another re-run.
  8. Scott Nicholls has already said that if he doesn't qualify as of right then he doesn't deserve to be there. I'd hope he'd have enough integrity to live up to those words and decline any invitation proferred.
  9. And with three rounds of meetings still to go it's all over in Poland, with Unia Tarnow meekly surrendering the title they won in 2004 and 2005 to Sparta Wroclaw yesterday. 10. That remains a possibility - he could revert to his previous status alongside Bjarne Pedersen, although BP's status as a GP rider must surely be under threat. Maybe BP will be the Andersen of 2007 - no, I don't see it either. But I can't see anyone getting anywhere close to Crump in 2007. Motivation a problem? Won the world title on Saturday, scored a maximum for Wroclaw on Sunday - I don't see a motivation problem, to be honest.
  11. Thought Ulamek was a Wolverhampton asset - has he been sold to Swindon?
  12. Isn't Chris Louis' mother called Pat? I seem to recall the first Mrs (John) Louis ran off with Jeremy Doncaster many moons ago.
  13. Would certainly have been some "interesting" comments after BP was excluded if young Shovlar had the microphone.
  14. No and I'm only a semi-professional smartarse. But I hope to turn professional soon.
  15. We all make simple mistakes, not just Millard. For example, Sky could reply that you haven't spelt incompetent correctly.
  16. I think it's the lack of an apology for various errors that grate. For example, in one heat he was ecstatic that Richardson was winning (which he wasn't) and then, without pause for breath, he declares that Richardson's gone to the back - no, he was at the back all along and never at the front.
  17. Barum used to be part of the Jawa-Skoda-Zetor conglomorate in the old Czechoslovakia. And Tony Millard at one point said Ryan Sullivan would be crowned world champion without having to ride another race. That was just one of a few howlers tonight.
  18. First things first, Sophie Blake looked better than she's ever done tonight - stunning. Second things second, congratulations to Jason Crump on his world championship. A very worthy and deserved win from easily the best rider around at the minute.
  19. Well, a bit of a disaster - Nicki P getting into mischief and Tomasz Gollob meekly surrendering in Ht 20. I thought about going with Hampel instead of TG, but I'm not capable of such a betrayal. Only surprise, to be honest, is that I'm still so high up the table.
  20. Anyway, here are a few photographs, including some of Sajfutdinov, from the Bydgoszcz versus Tarnow meeting: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc...&news_id=142939
  21. Just my pathetic attempt at humour - expected a Peterborough follower to be straight in with a "hands off Ford" post.
  22. I fear this could now turn into a Poole-Peterborough tug-o-war thread like the Klindt one did a couple of weeks ago.
  23. This season, roughly the same number of times as Iversen. I don't think Richardson is good enough, but I don't think either Stead, Harris or Loram are good enough. And if they aren't, they shouldn't be there solely on the grounds that they're British. If we want British riders in the GPs, let's go out and find some worthy British talent, not rely on the charity of BSI and the FIM.
  24. By your arguement, hasn't Lee Richardson proved he can do well in GPs? - he finished runner-up in the Polish GP last season.
